Very upset with how our first and last visit to South Shore Animal Services went. I took my pup in for what was supposed to be a wellness check, but he started limping a few days before so I was having her check that out too. We get called into the exam room and Dr McAdams doesn't introduce herself to myself or my boyfriend, and more importantly doesn't introduce herself to my dog. No hand sniffs, no treats, nothing to make him feel comfortable. She immediately asks me to hold his head so she can get him to lay down. But instead of telling him "lay down" like any normal person would, and he would have on the first command, she decided to knock my dogs legs out from underneath him. So here is a total stranger, in a totally strange location, sweeping an injured dogs legs out from under him. Naturally, my dog barked at her. This woman YELLS AT my dog and gets all in his face, and then taps him on the nose. She gets the muzzle, which is understandable, but she puts it on so tight he can barely breathe. It ended up leaving a red mark on him for 2 days. Anyways. The final straw for me was when I mentioned my dog needed his booster rabies vaccine. So she goes and gets it, administers it, and AS SHES PULLING THE NEEDLE OUT says "I went ahead and gave him the LYME vaccine as well". Excuse me?! I never once mentioned the lyme vaccine, definitely didn't give consent for it, and absolutely did not want him to have the lyme vaccine. I am so furious. So then I had to pay an additional $45 for an unwanted vaccine at the end of the visit. Oh and she was complaining to me saying I didn't send her my dogs medical history/papers, even though I can see them clear as day in her hands. To be fair. The woman working the front desk was very nice. The "doctor" not so much. Overall an awful experience and I beg you to stay away from this horrible excuse for a veterinarian who is just trying to make money. She didn't even give my dog a wellness exam and the "leg exam" took maybe 60 seconds. Read Less

Horrible horrible place, I highly question this woman’s degree... she made the wrong diagnosis on my dog who went into kidney failure on her watch. Thank God I had enough sense to know that something was definitely wrong...so I took him to the Duxbury animal hospital where they comforted him and treated him with passion and kindness. Dr. McAdams was our vet for 4 years, she never called to see how my dog was doing and never showed any compassion whatsoever. She only wanted to cover herself to make sure I don’t have a lawsuit against her and she never took any responsibility for her actions ... Don’t bring your dog to this woman or any animal she is reasonably priced and I fell for that and now my puppy is up in heaven 😢 Read Less

Horrible experience, I went here because she’s reasonably priced but I don’t think she knows what she’s doing. She made the wrong diagnosis on my dog instead of doing tests like blood and urine, which would’ve had showed that his kidney levels were high, she decided to take it upon herself to keep my dog with no fluids and food for almost 2 days which made his massive kidney failure much worse because they needed to be flushed with water!! When I questioned her about her di...scission she got very defensive and showed no compassion whatsoever...thank God I had enough sense to bring my dog to the Duxbury Animal Hospital where they showed him love and care on his final days... this beast of a woman calls herself a veterinarian and didn’t bother calling the house to see how Max was doing after being his doctors for over four years.
