My pets have been cared for by the staff at Belvidere Veterinary Hospital over the last 10 years. While the care was always good, it improved even more when they underwent renovations and brought in Dr. Moore. Recently, she helped us say good-bye to our dog after a cancer diagnosis. Dr. Moore's bedside manner is exemplary. She contacted us personally throughout the year that our dog was sick to check in on her well-being. She advised us with all of our options and supported us in any decision we made regarding our pet's care. The consistency of having a veteran staff who knows our pets is also very comforting. They are not only wonderful with my rambunctious kitten but they are extremely accommodating, knowledgable and responsive. Dr. Moore has been fantastic. I am new to the Lowell area and finding a decent vet, much less as a decent pizza, is challenging. There is not much at stake when a pizza is bad, unlike dealing with an indifferent vet. One's whole life is upended when you have a sick pet that isn't getting the care it needs and deserves. Dr. Moore went out of her way to help me conquer an allergy/immune issue that plagues my chi mix. Dr. Kathryn Moore has set a new gold standard in Lowell for animal care. I have had two labrador's that required extensive medical care at Angel Memorial in Boston. Dr. Moore's thoroughness and competence is quite evident and is commensurate with the sophistication and quality provided by the doctors at Angel. The staff at Belvedere are uniformly pleasant and efficient. I recently brought my 6 year old Maine coon cat to Belvedere for an annual checkup. A dental cleaning was recommended which required blood work. I was surprised to receive a call from Dr. Moore with an in depth explanation of potential health concerns. After, the dental cleaning, I received 2 phone calls, first one from the staff informing me that the procedure went fine and second, a call from Dr. Moore with detailed information concerning potential heart issues. Upon picking up my cat, Dr. Moore met with me and thoroughly explained her concerns and recommendations for monitoring the heart issues going forward. I also received a detailed printout with color pictures of before and after dental treatment and information concerning the heart issues. I then scanned the printout information and pictures and emailed them to my dentist of 40 years and gently suggested that he might consider providing patients with a comparable level of information. Because of the major upgrades to the hospital and the addition of Dr. Katherine Moore I am taking my senior kitty here. Dr. Moore and the staff have been amazing, providing a very high level care. This place was a solid 5 star for me. Now that Dr. Williams has left I am disgusted. There was no warning. No letters for him leaving. The whole reason I even took any of my animals there was for Dr Williams. As far as I'm.concerned wignall animal hospital is turning healthcare for pets into a money monopoly. Dr mcGrAth should be disgusted with this. People love their pets as family!! This Is the first time I have ever walked away from this vet office ...sickened...broke and no answers about my pet. Furthermore their new XRAY machine was not functioning and They did not know how to use it . Their in- house labs also not working.!!  No results . BRING BACK DR WILLIAMS!!!! Read Less

A few years back a stray cat followed me home at like 4 am. He had a badly severed tail, some scratches, had obviously been in some kind of scuffle. I fell in love, he was just so friendly. I asked around and someone recommended me to dr Williams. He ran tests and gave me meds for his tail and stuff. While testing,  he discovered my new friend had feline aids. He wanted to have him put down, but I couldn't bear the thought. I agreed to keep him as a solo, indoor cat.I think I impressed the staff just because I cared so much for a stray. Prices were reasonable, but I don't really have anything to compare to. 3 years later, and my cat is still my constant companion...we lucked out to find each other :) Read Less

Thank you Dr Williams for saving my cat's life, he conducted a surgery to remove a large lump for my cat which the other vet said that it was a high risky surgery and stated that my cat was dying of cancer in a few weeks or so.With Dr Williams and his staffs' professional cares, my cat has been living happily & healthy for over 8 months now, more important, no sign of caner after all the blood tests were done.Highly recommend Dr William to any pet lovers. I brought my 2 year old cat and her 4 kittens to the Belvidere Animal Hospital to get an exam and make sure everything was ok with her. They said she was fine and healthy..a little underweight charged us $110.00, and asked us to bring a stool sample in just to make sure she didn't have worms..which cost another $30.00. Two weeks later we noticed our cat walking funny so we brought her back in. $400.00 x-rays and bloodwork later, they said she had a kidney infection and possible cat diabetes. She was put on an antibiotic for another 2 weeks and when she began getting worse I called them and asked what we should do, the extremely unfriendly receptionist gave me an attitude say "well she obviously needs to be seen again". After that we decided to go to Wignall Animal Hospital in dracut..they were very straight forward with us and gave us 2 options as to what is wrong with her..after not seeing results in 2 days they told us that it was a Neurological problem..which is what they thought to being with and 3 days after bringing her to Wignall we had to put her down because she could not function anymore. Cost doesn't matter and i'm all for a small buisness, but the fact that my cat suffered because this vet wanted to squeeze out as much money as he could sickens me. Read Less

I have taken my two cats here to see Dr. Williams and have been happy with the treatment they received.  One cat just needed a routine checkup and shots, and the other just had surgery for a bladder stone. I thought Dr. Williams was very nice to deal with and he was very kind to my pets.  I don't get enough veterinary services to compare prices, but it seemed like he did a good job trying to diagnose and treat my sick cat without going crazy with expensive tests. Very, very dissapointed in the vet here.  He actually turned my dog away and had my wife in tears claiming she was too vicious to examine.  Umm, isn't that why you put a muzzle on the dog?  She's only 39 pounds!  I will never, ever go there again. Read Less
