I have been bringing my dogs to this Clinic for 9 years. Not only do I trust the staff and all the vets with their care but love how things are explained. I like to know what options of treatment are available for my pets. Also they were extremely kind and compassionate when I had to put my dog to sleep. Dr Shields did everything for my dog when he was sick including researching the newest methods in treatment and consulting specialist, always checking in to see how he was doing. The technicians are top of their field both in safe compassionate care and in their ability to explain complex medical issues. Not to mention the front desk staff is always welcoming and helpful. It is the best combination of customer service and medicine I have ever experienced. As for the price you get what you pay for which is exceptional service and medical expertise.

We love the Medfield Vet Clinic and specifically, Dr. Julie Shields is absolutely amazing. She has cared for our two dogs and cats over the years. We had to put our oldest dog down, back in September, and Dr. Shields actually came out to our house the SAME day I called! She has gone above and beyond all our expectations. She is kind, compassionate, bright, honest and thorough. The rest of the staff has always been pleasant. We have never had a bad experience at this clinic.

This was a homeless cat when I found him and brought him into the veterinary clinic. He was treated gently and the atmosphere made him feel comfortable. He was given the standard tests and also a pill to get rid of stomach worms.
I'm giving this review 3/5 stars because the lead veterinarian suggested the cat could be put to sleep given he tested positive for FIV. This is a disease that is the human equivalent of HIV; however, it only effects cats and cannot be transmitted to other animals or humans. It would require a deep bite wound to transmit. I have one other cat who is a girl cat who was also homeless when I brought her in that I've had for 4 years. I've kept the cats completely separated for the 6 months I've had the cat pictured, but I was lucky to do my own research about FIV and found case study's have found it is generally not transmitted among groups of cats and cats are generally safe among FIV cats; otherwise I would have sought to give the cat up to another foster care-giver while informing them of the condition.
The cat is full of love, wisdom, and life. He was quiet and kind from the time I brought him in, but also incredibly strong for a cat. He had one bad incident during times when I was moving in tandem from different living locations and he was frequently in and out of a carrying case. FIV however does not effect moods, just the health of the immune system. He has been a wonderful cat and had a positive effect on my life.
I suggest that the veterinarians do additional research on this topic and look for alternative solutions that can be met to cats under this condition. It would have been in hindsight an incredibly sad loss. This cat most certainly deserved a home and a full life.

my three pups and two kittens have been under the care of dr. crowell and dr. shields for nearly two years now. i have referred countless people to the clinic because of their wonderful work with my furry family. this past week, i endured the most terrible loss - having to say goodbye to my very best friend, my 15-year old yellow lab, murphy. dr. crowell and one of his amazing technicians came to my home and their compassion, tenderness and true sincerity made one of the most heart wrenching moments of my life a little more manageable. after visiting the clinic today for a check in with one of my other pups, the overall warmth and kindness from the doctors, to the technicians to the desk staff was unparalleled. both dr. shields and dr. crowell wrote handwritten personal cards of empathy which was so very thoughtful, i am so happy being a part of this wonderful practice, and feel enveloped by such love as a result of their amazing care. thank you for loving my furry family and me!

We began going to Dr. Crowell ten years ago with our first dog, Jake. Today they take the best care of our two labs who think they are going on a playdate when they walk into the office. Dr. Crowell and his staff always call to follow up after a procedure, surgery or sick visit. I had a poor experience with a previous vet who made our first dog very nervous, but Dr. Crowell and his staff turned that around for him and have become the only place I would take our dogs. I highly recommend them.

I take my dog, Dusty, to Medfield Veterinary Clinic and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. Dr. Shields, always takes us right away when we arrive and gives him such wonderful attention and loving care that I could not imagine taking him anywhere else. Dusty even enjoying going in to visit which is so unusual for him. He is very skittish about some things but he just loves that place. They explain everything to me in great details and always offer me options. I would high recommend taking your pet to this great veterinary clinic.

I have not been happy with my experiences at the MVC. I don't like how they treat my dog (I have witnessed the techs be rough with my dog). I will not be bringing him back there for care. I also don't care for how they communicate their diagnosis--very clinical. You must also know that their prices are higher when compared to other vets in the area. The acoustics in the office itself are very unnerving. Everything echoes, especially the phones that ring non-stop at the receptionist desk.

They are the VERY BEST. They have taken care of my four toy poodles with the most awesome care. They are professional and care so much about you and your pet.Dr. Crowell is the BEST VET I have ever come across in my lifetime. He deservesan award for class, intelligence, honesty, friendliness, always available to help.The girls are awesome with the pets and owners. They are so supporitve. The hospital is the cleaniest I have ever stepped in. I don't know what I would do without them. They deserve 10 stars! Dr. Crowell is the classest and smartest vet I have ever met.

I have been bringing my dogs to this Clinic for 9 years. Not only do I trust the staff and all the vets with their care but love how things are explained. I like to know what options of treatment are available for my pets. Also they were extremely kind and compassionate when I had to put my dog to sleep. We love the Medfield Vet Clinic and specifically, Dr. Julie Shields is absolutely amazing. She has cared for our two dogs and cats over the years. my three pups and two kittens have been under the care of dr. crowell and dr. shields for nearly two years now. i have referred countless people to the clinic because of their wonderful work with my furry family. this past week, i endured the most terrible loss - having to say goodbye to my very best friend, my 15-year old yellow lab, murphy. dr. crowell and one of his amazing technicians came to my home and their compassion, tenderness and true sincerity made one of the most heart wrenching moments of my life a little more manageable. after visiting the clinic today for a check in with one of my other pups, the overall warmth and kindness from the doctors, to the technicians to the desk staff was unparalleled. both dr. shields and dr. crowell wrote handwritten personal cards of empathy which was so very thoughtful, i am so happy being a part of this wonderful practice, and feel enveloped by such love as a result of their amazing care. thank you for loving my furry family and me!

We began going to Dr. Crowell ten years ago with our first dog, Jake. Today they take the best care of our two labs who think they are going on a playdate when they walk into the office. Dr. Crowell and his staff always call to follow up after a procedure, surgery or sick visit. I had a poor experience with a previous vet who made our first dog very nervous, but Dr. Crowell and his staff turned that around for him and have become the only place I would take our dogs. I highly recommend them.

I take my dog, Dusty, to Medfield Veterinary Clinic and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. Dr. Shields, always takes us right away when we arrive and gives him such wonderful attention and loving care that I could not imagine taking him anywhere else. Dusty even enjoying going in to visit which is so unusual for him. He is very skittish about some things but he just loves that place. They explain everything to me in great details and always offer me options. I would high recommend taking your pet to this great veterinary clinic.

I have not been happy with my experiences at the MVC. I don't like how they treat my dog (I have witnessed the techs be rough with my dog). I will not be bringing him back there for care. I also don't care for how they communicate their diagnosis--very clinical. You must also know that their prices are higher when compared to other vets in the area. The acoustics in the office itself are very unnerving. Everything echoes, especially the phones that ring non-stop at the receptionist desk.

They are the VERY BEST. They have taken care of my four toy poodles with the most awesome care. They are professional and care so much about you and your pet.Dr. Crowell is the BEST VET I have ever come across in my lifetime. He deservesan award for class, intelligence, honesty, friendliness, always available to help.The girls are awesome with the pets and owners. They are so supporitve. The hospital is the cleaniest I have ever stepped in. I don't know what I would do without them. They deserve 10 stars! Dr. Crowell is the classest and smartest vet I have ever met.
