I really can't recommend PawSteps enough. After receiving less than ideal care for my elderly dog's arthritis I came to this Clinic and they took care of him right away and were able to provide the pain relief that he needed. Not only where the staff courteous and polite, but the veterinarians were incredibly thorough and knowledgeable on how to evaluate my dog. Not only do we receive excellent care here, but we also are well informed about the cost of care in advance and the treatment options are discussed in very good detail. It makes me feel very confident about the health of my dogs and cats when I take them here. Read Less

I have 99.9% good things to say. The staff is incredibly friendly. I feel like the care is top notch. I took my dog in to make sure she was properly inoculated for the kennel, and they actually helped me save money by letting me know she was all set on certain vaccines until a later appointment date. My, one and only, complaint is that it does feel like they try to sell me on various medications my pet likely doesn't need. That said, it's possible they're just doing their due-diligence and making me aware of all the options. It just *feels* like a sales pitch. Edit: My dog has been here more than a few times now, and I'm 100% standing by my 5 stars. Everyone is so friendly and genuinely caring about the animals brought in. I also appreciate the response from Sean regarding my complaint - and I will even say I haven't really had the "sales pitch" perception since I wrote the review. Maybe it was a one-off thing. And the quality of care has always been excellent, never had an issue with anything they've done for our dogs. They really are kind and willing to help out as much as possible. Our first dog passed away suddenly while we were on vacation in Maine, she was with us. Be very careful; you may think this is a wonderful place; however, if you have an issue, they will tell you what to do...not ask you what you think you would like to do.  If your pet is sick, and you do not want to do surgery or whatever it is they recommend, they will make you feel that you are an issue and that you need to put your animal down.  I had heard that Dr. Sawyer was a great doctor, but Dr. Claunch is arrogant and demanding.  She acts like it is her animal and that you did not spend years raising it.  To be quite honest, I really thought I had a great vet until I needed a compassionate opinion that included me as a human being who raised the animal! Our three kitties are like children to us, and we are so happy with the way they treat and care for them. Reasonably priced, Skilled and Compassionate Personnel, its all we have ever wanted in a vet. We found them due to close proximity, but will be returning because of the great staff. They work with you to find solutions to your beloved animals, and they do it with warm compassion. I LOVE pawsteps. After visiting a few vets inside petsmart I was disappointed with the service. I decided to give pawsteps a chance and I am so glad I did. I love doctor sawyer, he is so nice, remembers little details and both of my dogs love him. One of my dogs used to be so nervous about going to the vet and wouldn't leave my lap...but now when doctor sawyer comes in the room he automatically goes to say hi to him! It is such a personalized experience and I somehow always end up leaving thinking I got charged less than I expected to pay for random emergencies. Another great part of pawsteps is their reception staff. My dog tends to get into a lot of different things and I've had to call them frequently to ask questions and they are so helpful. Read Less

5 Stars.....Pawsteps is amazing although I found them to late my 1 y/o chiuhua Simon had been going threw some issues with neurological symptoms, off balance falling over  and seemed in pain i had been taking him somewhere else for this issue for a long time and they kept sending me to tufts saying they couldnt figure out what was wrong with him he had a fall when he was 6 months old and had FHO surgery so the old vet kept saying it healed wrong  and had nurological problems from the fall.no BLOOD WORK  was taken at the old vets EVER not even his first puppy visit and when I took him to see Dr klaunch when Simon took a turn for  the worst . At paw steps the first thing she did was take blood come to find out he had lymes disease she was the only one who actually figured out what was wrong with him.she  prescribed his doxycycline for treatment for lyme but after a few days before it arrived Simon sadly passed away of kidney failure in his sleep :(  thank you dr klaunch and the pawsteps team for trying to help simon.i wish we found you guys sooner. I was very impressed by Pawsteps.  I was new to the area and chose them because of location, but I would chose them again every time for quality of service.  The staff is amazing, especially Kayla and Dr. Young, who we visited with.  The rest of the staff members that I interacted with, though briefly, seemed great too.  I'm always concerned with how experienced my vet is with greyhounds and some of the unique needs they have.  Dr. Young confidently spoke to all of the breed specific concerns that I had.  They were also very accepting of my hesitations regarding things like flea and tick preventatives, which we've had bad experiences with in the past, and did not pressure me at all to use products I was not 100% comfortable with using.  That was a nice change from previous vet experiences where I was forced to adamantly defend my choices.  I've never felt so good about a choice of vet and, most importantly, my greyhound Grace LOVED them and they were wonderful with her. Dr. Sawyer was great with all of our kitties. All of the staff at PawSteps was always very accommodating and seemed to truly care about our animals. They are also great at providing different treatment options depending on your budget which is nice to have. Unfortunately, we've moved away from the area now but I'd like to thank them for their great service! Read Less

The staff at PawSteps go over and beyond to make your animals as comfortable as possible and happy. We HIGHLY recommend PawSteps and their fantastic staff. You and your pets will not be disappointed. Even our shy Salvador fell in love with all the ladies at the office. Belly rubs all around!Read Less

I first met Dr. Sawyer when he worked at VCA hospital of Westboro, I adopted a cat from Worcester Animal Rescue League back in December of 2006 and I took him to the VCA place, anyways, Dr. Sawyer met Parker and was very good to him and treated him for a cold that he had, so few years ago when I heard that Dr. Sawyer opened his own place in Northbridge, I decided to take Parker back to see him.  Pawsteps is a great Veterinary facility, the people there are very kind and supportive, recently I had to bring Parker for his annual exam and I met Dr. Carrol, another great addition to Pawsteps!! I wouldn't bring my animal to any other place!! Thank you Pawsteps for taking good care of my cat when he needs to be brought in. Read Less

I was recommended to Dr Sawyer when he was at another clinic, and transferred to Pawsteps later to continue to have care for my pet from him. The first clinic was good - and Pawsteps is even better. Dr Sawyer and his staff are excellent with pets, know what they are looking for, explain what they see, explain what they would like to do, tell the results of treatment - in short, communicate well and caringly and know how to best treat an animal. I am very satisfied with their care of our pet, and I recommend Pawsteps to my friends. Read Less

When I first moved back to Grafton with my then puppy I was worried about transferring vets from Melrose, MA. He was abandoned and then a new vet, so I did my research before choosing PawSteps; of course you still never know.I'm so glad I chose PawSteps. Not only is it convenient but the staff is AMAZING. They always remember Charlie and what's going on with him. The facility itself is always clean and never smells like a veterinary center.Last winter Charlie had lots of problem with his stomach and Dr. Sawyer was great at trying different treatments without harming Charlie or his stomach.I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area with a pet that's part of the family!
