If you love your pets, please don't take them here. I moved to Norwood a few years ago and picked Norwood animal hospital just based on being close. I never thought to look on yelp for a vet, and I didn't know anybody in the area to get recommendations. I brought my cats there for the past few years and found a lot of the same things people complain about here. Dr Carpenter always seemed not that interested, I would mention little concerns and it was always just a shrug with no recommendation...I found out later one of the little problems was solved with a simple diet change, he couldn't be bothered to tell me that. Here's where it gets bad for me. Once one of my cats actually had a real problem. He had re-occurring infections in his feet. Now I admit it turned out to be a rare condition, and is often misdiagnosed. So for a stranded vet to tell me once that "this shouldn't keep happening, but I don't know what could be causing it ", I can accept. When I was there for the third and fourth times in a few months, and was still being told "this shouldn't keep happening, but I don't know what could be causing it" I felt like maybe they could try researching it...or refer me to a specialist who might know...they did not do either...they kept giving me the same antibiotics that were working less and less as he became more resistant to themSo finally...we ended up at Tufts vets for an emergency visit on a three day weekend..8am the day before my wedding...not what I needed to be dealing with, but he would have been in pain until Tuesday if we didn't get him treated . The doctor that saw him there couldn't believe that my vet just kept saying they didn't know of anything that could explain it...she saw him once and informed us...there are things that can cause this, and they have on staff there a dermatologist, who happens to have a specialty in issues with cats claws...something that Norwood should have known, and probably recommended to me before. They had refereed me to tuffts for specialty care before, so they had no problem with tuffts...they really just couldn't be bothered to help.So...to sum up, after almost a year of infections, close to $2000 spent on vet bills including a toe amputation...he needed two weeks of steroids, and is now totally fine. We now go to Dedham veterinary associates, and they are wonderful to both my boys. Read Less
