Dr. Wember was very informative and made me feel confident to ask questions and get honest feedback. The staff were friendly... But you need update the hours in the your website and Google, because two times I came to the hospital and is closed... And the prescription drug is very expensive... Such a wonderful place to get your pet checked out. I brought my two cats in as they were both due for their annual exam. One of them is about to go on a plane for the first time, and the staff were very knowledgeable about what documents and vaccines I needed for the flight. The front desk were extremely friendly and informative. The veterinarian knew what he was talking about as he always backed up his answers to my questions wit articles that he would air drop to me on the spot. I didn't even ask for it but he was so kind enough to pass the articles to me. I would definitely bring them both back here again. Read Less

My first couple of visits I loved this place, the doctor was attentive, the receptionist was friendly, it was only after I sent an email in to ask a question that I decided I needed to find some place else. The clinic called my husband and recommended he bring our 8 year old cat in to have his teeth cleaned.No big deal, right?The procedure was over $500, it's three days later and my cat is still suffering ill effects from the anesthesia. I've been taking my four cats there for years and am always satisfied with the services they provide. They always put my pets health above all while not suggesting frivolous and expensive treatments. Took my kitten in for some skin issues and was told because she had no lesions or areas to actually treat with a cream, they would instead give us a shampoo.  It wasn't in Stock so I had my husband pick it up when they called to say it arrived. They gave my husband the cream.  Not the shampoo. Tried to return the unopened cream for the shampoo and they told me no refunds.  Why do I have to pay for their mistake?  It's not the cost of the medicine just the point that YOU gave us the wrong item and won't make it right by returning our money. i am so grateful for Dr. Wember. My dog has had surgery there as well as all of his vaccines and check ups and each time I feel totally comfortable and secure that he is in dr. Wember's care because he truly cares about the pets and their owners and takes the time to call me personally and tell me step by step what to do with my dog. He isn't money hungry like a lot of other vets, he never pushes extra vaccines and/or procedures, instead he tells me what should be done and what my dog can do without. i don't trust my dog with ANYONE, I am always so skeptical but I can honestly say that I trust dr. I called a few vet spots in the Quincy/Weymouth/Braintree area in anticipation of our pup's arrival. Hancock certainly came in the cheapest in price and since we were going for routine shots, we opted to go with HAH.I've been here twice and seen a female vet the first time and Dr. Wember the second. Both were nice, but night and day in experience. Our first visit, the vet was running 30 minutes late which the receptionist was apologetic for and we were OK with. Once inside, the vet literally spent 3 minutes "examining" our pup and I really mean playing with her. We only had our pup for 3 days so didn't have any questions, but she also did not offer any recommendations,suggestions,etc. The vet proceeded to set up my pup's shots w/o thoroughly examining her records or explaining what she was about to administer. I asked and it turned out one was heartworm which she had received the day we picked her up and thus did not need another so soon. We were out in like 5 minutes.Our second visit was with Dr. Wember and he was much more thorough. At this point we had some questions about runny eyes, etc and he addressed them and offered training/behavior suggestions. He actually checked her body, eyes, teeth, etc. He explained what he was administering and since she had a bit of diarrhea, gave the option whether to get all shots or split them up. It was much more in line with what I'd expect a routine visit to be.I'm not sure which vet is in on what days, but I would strongly suggest going with Dr. Wember f you have the option. Read Less

Beware. We have had pets for many years and multiple vets as well. Hancock Animal Hospital has been hands down the worst experiences of all our previous vets. Our last experience that drove us to change vets was as follows; our dog had ACL surgery and was due to remove her staples from the incision( 5 staples, this takes approximately 5 minutes). We called on a monday for a saturday appointment, when arriving to our appointment we found that they had never entered the appointment into the system and we were told that they did not have enough time to get us into the schedule (this was told to us 40 minutes later). I asked to speak to the Vet for 40 more minutes and was told repeatedly that she was going to come out but she never did, this was Dr.Davis. I waited for a total of 1hr and 40 minutes and never once did the vet come out to talk to us. I have never in my life in any type of service industry, been treated the way we were treated that day at Hancock Animal Hospital. I would never refer anyone to this place or trust that they are capable of being a full service vet to any animal. They had also given us false opinions on our pets orthopedics issues that was contradictory to our orthopedic surgeon. I would never recommend anyone to this vet. Read Less

They are the kindest, most wonderful people ever. They are great to all of our babies, but when my Cooper was sick, they were just as worried as I was and gave us the care and compassion we needed at that time. Happy to report he is doing great now and all 4 of our dogs love the staff! Read Less

My dog Lola has been here a few times for random issues. Something metal in her paw pad, to make sure her blood was clotting correctly and most recently she had a parasite that isn't usually found in dogs. They helped me without needing a vet visit because I had her feces tested somewhere else. Turned out to be something that usually isn't treated. It is our go to vet for random issues. Read Less

Can't say enough nice things about Dr Wember or his staff. Really feel at home here! They take good care of my 2 dogs and 4 cats! Have tried other vets in the area and didn't appreciate how I was treated and how my pets were just money makers to them. I truly believe that Hancock Animal Hospital cares about my pets well being and at the same time they are not dragging me over the coals with costs. I have been going to Dr.Wember since both my dogs were puppies, going on now about 9 years. He is amazing, so caring and knowledgable and my dogs adore him. Dr. Wember and staff are always there for me. I have older dogs and they always have some issue that needs attention. Today I brought my 13 year old toy poodle to the office, with no appointment, for an urgent matter. They welcomed him, took him for the day while I went to work, called me occasionally to update me on his care. I really believe that Dr. Wember saved my dog's life today. They are not cheap nor are they expensive. They are kind, professional and responsive. If you're not happy here you might not be happy anywhere. Read Less

A neighbor recommended Hancock Animal Hospital when I fired VCA for roughing up my sick cat who ended up injuring the vet. Dr. Wember was very kind and understood my concern for my ailing feline. He was gentle, kind and whispered sweet nothings to my cat who, in turn, showed her belly and submitted to an exam and a vial of blood for testing without needing a vet tech! The office visit is 1/2 the cost of other vets and I never feel pressured to pay for unnecessary tests. The staff is helpful and caring also. I highly recommend Hancock Animal Hospital. Read Less
