I've been taking my 7 year old dog to Driftway for over a year now. I am one of those people who takes my dog to the vet probably more often than needed as she's like my child and she has pretty bad skin issues. Dr. Kimball is such a sweetheart and is so obviously passionate about her job! She always takes the time to listen to my concerns and also explain to me what might be going on. This office is so great with follow up - I always get a call checking in after any procedures to make sure my dog is getting better. We have been taking our two cats here for 4 years. The issue isn't the vet care it is the vet tech care and attitude. I have several occasions where we were taken over 1/2 hour late and edited 1.5 hours to lion clip and soft paw the cats. The wait is very variable and don't take any appointment if it's not the first of the day. Secondly, the first few lion clips and soft paw placements were fine. Then on the third or so visit the soft paw weren't the wrong size/ the cats " were angry" etc. I know animals can have various moods just like people so the first time I was told this I understood completely. The second and third time this happened I was more surprised. There were issues placing both sizes of the soft paws they had asked me to bring/ cats were angry etc. The third time, yes I was late I admit, the cat couldn't be trimmed because she was angry again but was also told they had a new girl on the desk, were really short staffed for this appointment on a Saturday AND the cat was angry so no clipping was done. I would have rescheduled if the appointment was booked incorrectly. That's fine but I came and only 1/2 was done. I'm not overly mad just irritated. Just not sure why so many issues lately when we had none the first visit or two? Read Less

All the staff and doctors are highly qualified and helpful. We have taken our pets here for years for periodic care and for treatment of specific ailments. Most times they have resolved the cause of our visits. When needed they have referred us to specialists. We have great confidence in entrusting then with the care of furry friends.Read Less

After using Driftway for a little over a year and being quite satisfied with the care our dog received we had an incident about a month ago. Our dog was involved in a fight with a friends dog and received a bite on the paw that needed stitches. Upon calling the hospital on a weekday morning during business hours we were informed they could not see our dog as she did not have an appointment. Needless to say we were a bit put off and this was the first time I have ever been informed I could not bring my pet in for a minor emergency during working hours. We were referred to an emergency vet clinic. Long story short after another call and speaking with the office manager who was short and rude with us we sought services elsewhere. We were very disappointed with the manner with which we were treated, especially since we were already well established clients. We will no longer be using Driftway Animal Hospital and have established a relationship with another vet who understands not only the importance of quality animal care but also maintaining a positive relationship with their human clients. We recently have had several visits to Driftway Animal Hospital with our aging (slightly wacko) schnauzer and the staff has been exceptional.  They are very friendly and caring and went out of their way to accommodate us.  We also had a good experience with the boarding and will definitely use them again.  Over the years with many dogs, this vet hospital is as good as it gets--highly recommend!!
