When I showed up for the pre surgery meeting a week before her due date, they informed me the doctor was going to be on vacation and could no longer do the surgery. On top of it. Both Dr. Nuttle and Dr. Murdock have been helpful in trying to get kitty regulated although their approach is each a little different is nice to have two opinions and care lately though they have been very busy and would definatly like more attention to this issue especially now that I am so concerned . I've had my precious rescue dog for a little over a year and when he came to me, he was already good to go in terms of tests, shots, etc.  He's been in great health but I knew he was overdue for his vaccinations, shots and I just wanted to get him a general check-up. After researching vets online, I stumbled upon East Bay, and was pleased to see all of the great reviews.  I called and scheduled an appointment for a Saturday afternoon.  Upon arrival, I was greeted and they knew who we were without me even saying anything; I was immediately impressed.  After a few minute wait we were taken back to a room.  The vet came in fairly quickly and gave him an assessment, gave him his proper shots and trimmed his nails for me.  Both the doctor and the tech were professional and friendly. The office itself is very bright and clean.  The location is easy once off the highway but it's right at the intersection of Fall River Ave. and traffic is very congested, so it can be hard to get in and out.  There is ample parking in the rear of the building and even a little area to let your dog do their business prior to entering.  Prices were reasonable, fairly consistent from what I've seen at other places for previous animals I've owned.  The money was well spent though, on piece of mind and also for a good experience. We came to East Bay Animal Hospital with our 11 year-old lab who had a growth on her hind leg.  She had been treated previously at another office in Providence, but we wanted a second opinion.  The staff was great with Maggie and were super helpful to us, getting us in for an appointment on the same day.  Dr. Nuttall and her assistant were gentle and kind with our old girl, who is always super anxious in any veterinarian's office.  They were so patient with her, and even got down on the floor with her, instead of getting her up on that dreaded high, slippery silver table which she is terrified of.  Dr. Nuttall gave Maggie a thorough examination, and was extremely knowledgeable, immediately zeroing in on a couple of likely diagnoses. She thoughtfully discussed the possibilities as well as the treatment options with us, and answered our many questions.  We agreed with her recommendations for testing, and after a couple of months of e-collar madness, we had a pretty clear diagnosis in just a few minutes.  Although it was not good news, Dr. Nuttall presented it in a clear, concise, yet sensitive manner, and then took all the time we needed in discussing what her treatment options might be even though we were the last appointment of the day.  She prescribed some medication that could be inexpensively purchased at our local pharmacy to help keep her comfortable, and referred us to a specialist for further testing.  Dr. Nuttall's assistant even made a couple of phone calls to one of the local veterinary centers while we were still in the office to make sure there was an oncologist on staff and to see when they might be able to get us in for an appointment.  The cost of this top-notch care was extremely reasonable, and we feel truly grateful to have found such a competent, kind, professional and gentle veterinarian without having to sell all our belongings to pay the bill.  Thank you Dr. Nuttall and staff! -Julie, Jon, & Maggie Read Less

Called on a Friday because we had made the difficult decision to have our 16 and a half year old euthanized to end his pain and suffering as his latest seizure left him to struggling to breathe. Given that it was 6pm when this happened, it was hard to find a local vet open but we called East Bay around 630 and they were open until 730. We stated we had a older dog that unfortunately was dying, they said there was a doctor still there but he was heading out soon. They put me on hold and came back and told me that it would be "a lot of paperwork" for that and they weren't willing to do it. They denied a poor, innocent dog that was suffering badly trying to even breathe because they didn't want to do paperwork. I was at a loss for words at how poorly of an excuse they gave to not help him. I'd never recommend them to anyone or take my other pets there. I'd give them 0 stars if I could. Read Less

I wanted to recognize the very friendly, supportive and courteous staff including veteranary assistants Jessica, Karly and Emerald.  I also want to express our gratitude and special thanks to Dr. Nuttal, who provided the excellent care which ultimately extended the life of our 10 year old domestic short hair tiger cat, Jackson. Dr. Nuttal provided us amazing insight and service.  From timely communications and calling us for updates on his condition, to suggestions regarding the direction of his care, I felt that Dr. Nuttal was brilliant, thorough, trustworthy and kind.  Through more than four months, Jackson became progressively more ill and suffered from a number of symptoms that Dr. Nuttal ultimately attributed to manifestations of lymphatic cancer.  It was an incredibly difficult time for us, as Jackson was closer to us than any pet we'd ever known.  He was family.  We were heartbroken to learn of his diagnosis, but we were resigned to maximizing the quality of his life while still preventing him from suffering.  That said, the care that Jackson received through this time was exemplary.  Dr. Nuttal and the staff at East Bay saw us nearly every week, doing their absolute best to not only provide top-notch medical attention but to be conscious of the associated costs.  East Bay was very reasonable through this ordeal to the very end.Jackson would ultimately begin to decline, and we had to make the toughest decision of our lives.  East Bay made his last experience as comfortable as possible.  We were allowed time with him and we were present throughout.  Jackson is forever in our hearts and we miss him terribly.  We want to thank the staff at East Bay for assisting in affording us the opportunity to spend several months more of quality time with him.  We appreciate the card and the dignity maintained in handling him even after his passing.  I should also recognize my amazing girlfriend, who's determination is unmatched.  The time she spent helping Jackson thrive as much as possible while juggling a grueling academic and work schedule (Part "Fur momma" and part junior Vet), was a truly a blessing and a beautiful testimony to her dedication to "our boy".Thank you again East Bay... SO very happy to have finally found a high-quality and reasonably priced vet around Providence! My cat is almost 9 and we've been to about 5 different places before I came to EBAH. The places I've found around here are either so cheap you only get the low-quality service you're paying for, or so pricey you can't even get a wellness checkup without dropping a few hundred dollars. We went in to EBAH today for a sick visit as a new patient. When I called to see if they had any appointments because my cat was sick, their response was "of course!" The entire experience was thorough and pleasant and I truly feel my 'Bob' was given the great care he deserves. And the price was so reasonable! Health is #1, and I know I agreed to take on some financial responsibility when I chose to adopt, but as a cat mom who works two jobs to get through her student loans, cost is important too. Our visit today included a relatively thorough exam, blood work, stool testing, both an on-site injection of antibiotics and a bottle of take-home antibiotics, and a can of stomach-sensitive food - and it was only $250. Hooray for East Bay Animal Hospital! Bob has finally found his vet! Read Less

Our family pets have been going to East Bay (specifically seen by Dr. Elizabeth Murdock) for about 10 years now. Our previous and present family dogs, cat, and my previous ferret have all been patients of hers. My family and I appreciate her so greatly. She's very knowledgable in all questions we have for either animals. When we had to put our previous family dog down, Dr. Murdock (and I believe the vet tech was Jessica, but this is going back five years) were incredible. Two months ago, my elderly ferret needed to be put down in Dr. Murdock (and Jessica's) care. I wish my two previous ferrets could have passed at East Bay Animal Hospital. I was able to stay with my baby and have her in my arms the entire time that she passed. Then they gave us all the time we needed to be with her (same for our previous dog.) It meant the world to me. You're in such a fragile state because you're losing a best friend so their kindness and helpfulness means so much. I sent them a thank you card immediately after my ferret's passing. I received her ashes in the urn I picked out within the week. We received a phone call from Dr. Murdock soon after regarding local ferret(s) for adoption if I was interested (but it was too soon). As a side note, I also want to recognize Melina and Karly for their work and compassion when dealing with our pets, whether a check up or during sick times. These women are both fantastic. I've adopted two "stray" ferrets in a shelter and came to find out that Dr. Murdock is doing a needed surgery on one of them before he's in my care. She's the kind of vet that at least one local shelter "loves and goes to her all the time. She's the best." I've been going here on and off for about 12 years. I hadn't gone for a long time, but ended up bringing my 13 year old cat here last year to be euthanized when he could no longer function happily. It was pretty much the worst/saddest day of my life. The folks here were so kind to me(a blubbering, hyperventilating adult man) and made sure my kitty was comfy and not scared. They were sweet to me from beginning to end. The offered to make a paw print for me, which I took and framed and will forever have a place on my bookshelf (I know that sounds crazy-cat person but this guy was like family :P )... Axl, my poor little rabbit, had started rapidly deteriorating after a very long life of 11 years. I called up East Bay Animal Hospital and was able to get an appointment that same day. I actually thought I would have to put him down right then and there, but Dr. Murdock wanted to try out some medications first. She didn't even charge for the first exam since we were new customers. I gave Axl the medications diligently for about a week, but unfortunately he went from slightly better to a lot worse in a matter of 1 day. I called up East Bay again and was able to get an appointment for an hour after I called. Dr. Nuttall examined him and we decided it was time to let go (I felt no pressure at all to make this decision, it was just clear that it needed to happen). It was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, but Dr. Nuttall and the vet tech (Melina) could not have been nicer or more understanding/accommodating. They took every measure to make sure he was as comfortable as possible throughout the euthanasia process, and made sure that I was as okay as I could be, considering the circumstances.I miss my bunny more than I could have ever imagined, but everyone at East Bay Animal Hospital was so nice, helpful, warm, and attentive. It really helped. Also, the prices here are very reasonable and the facilities are extremely clean. Once I am ready for another bunny, I will definitely be coming back here if needed. Everyone that knows me understands my love for animals. How I take pets in that are unwanted by people that no longer want them. I give them a warm home, fix them and feed them well. The names of my cats today are: Sweety, Aries, Jazzy, Socko, Jack, Sarah, Oreo, Dasher, MJ, Cougar, Bear, Squirrel, Sophia, Buttonnose and Tubby. Dogs: Meggerra and Khulua . Birds: Penelope (African Grey), Freddie cockotiel, Petey (petey has no feet) and Shakerra Paraketes. My pets bring me alot of love and affection. Right now they need mine. I take them to Petco for their shots and if any other needs I take them to East Bay Animal Hospital Seekonk. I noticed that my cats have had some white worms in their stool. This upset me very much knowing that this is tape worms. I dropped a off a stool sample and spoke to Daniel Love and handed him a list of the names of my pets. He said he would need weights on all of them and I said ok after we get the results. I ask at the time if I could just get a prescription after the results come in so I could go to 1800 Pet Meds. Daniel Love says yeah because it would cost you a small fortune. I get a call back from a Karley Bianco from the office the next day and she said to me that it was tape worm and the vet wants to see all of the animals. I said that would cost a fortune that I dont have. I said which vet said that she said all of them.. (Dr. Elizabeth Murdock, Dr. Anne Nuttal and Dr. Peter Cournoyer owner). I said I dont understand any vet would say if one has worms they all do. I do not understand why they would rather see my pets die then treat them. I need someone to help me help them since East Bay Animal Hospital is only out to stick money in their pockets instead of helping my Animals. Read Less

We've not dealt with Drs. Cournoyer or Murdock, but I would presume they are also top-quality.  Because I have been loyal to EBAH, I can't attest to their pricing structure versus other comparable facilities, but I can say that they are always thorough and considerate in explaining options for care at different cost levels while keeping quality and patient care at the forefront, whether it's for treatment, diagnostics, medicine, or insurance plans.  Though health care for animals isn't cheap, it's tough to ask for more out of a provider than that.

She's the best." Axl, my poor little rabbit, had started rapidly deteriorating after a very long life of 11 years. Friendly, expert staffThorough, accommodating careQuality facilityWe began bringing our cat for care here when living in Pawtucket and still insist on EBAH now that we're in western Cranston.  Dr. Anne Nuttall is excellent.  Kaila is a superb assistant who is well-informed,  capable, and a pleasure to deal with. Excellent care and service - highly recommended. Read Less
