The Inn and Spa is the ONLY one in town to which we would go.  It has been an incredible success for us  - in particular given the NEW management who are never condescending to us.  A major improvement. Meghan, Morgan, Courtney are attentive, loving and responsive to our concerns.  The office manager is also the best and diligently administers this practice so we never feel "lost in email/voicemail hell."  The best part of the Inn and Spa is that it is co-located with a great veterinary practice of HONEST doctors and staff who do not sell unnecessary procedures to simply make budget like larger chains.  If a pet has an issue, he or she can be rapidly whisked upstairs.  It happened to us - and we are are grateful!!! I love the vets here.  They are always so nice to my kitties, Odin and Tesla. I was able to get a last minute appointment for Tesla when he decided to rip his fur out two days before my vacation. They explained everything with me regarding his necessary medical treatment and even spoke with my mom on the phone who was catsitting for me. I will always feel comfortable bringing my cats here. They are very helpful and knowledgeable, and when asked about their flea and heart worm meds over other brands, they freely gave information on exactly what my pets needed and where I may find it. I highly recommend this animal hospital. I have had 2 cats treated here and have had a good experience with both. Both cats have since died at ripe old ages (17 and 20) and the staff was so kind to both me and my cats. They did not push unnecessary treatments but made sure my kitties were supported in their old age. When they reached end of life the staff was extremely kind and empathetic. Community Animal Hospital has so many problems and the prices are extremely high. The owner is very snooty, unfriendly and not very caring. She is cold and mean to customers and pets. A wonderful vet, everyone is truly invested in the care of your pets, and their vets and techs have always been wonderful about communicating what is going on with my pets! They have also been excellent about squeezing us in for last minute appointments. We switched here from the VCA because one of our cats needs sedated grooming annually, and we were so pleased with her care we now take all our cats here, and wouldn't dream of going any place else! They're quick to return phone calls. The doctors immediately took care of one of my my dogs when there was a lump. Which turned out to be cancer and they were very helpful with everything through the process. And her brother also had some surgery for entropia and his eyes look great. My wife and I brought our 2 cats (6 months & 1.5 year old) for a routine check and first shots for our 6 month old. We were met with lovely and accommodating staff (they even helped us clean our carrier after one of the cats got sick on the car ride). The place was clean, inviting, and quiet. Haven't been there in months but driving by today reminded me of how terrible my dog and family was treated by the staff there. They gave tons of eye rolls and attitude when we questioned why our dogs nose was bleeding after grooming. Not to mention he was half groomed and looked like a dog off the street. For the price we paid he should have looked great. The first time we had brought him there he came out smelling great and looking sharp with a bandana around his neck. The second time is when we had problems. No bandana and he didnt even smell good. Its as if they mistreated him and didnt care about it. Never went back and never will. Read Less

I have been bringing all my pets to Community since it opened. I really like the techs, receptionist and the vets. The place is always clean and they have done well by all my animals. Mitten is 22 years old with renal failure and has done well with the diagnosis for the past 5 years. One vet at another facility told me I had to have my cat Baby Boys eye removed due to an infection.Dr. Morana said otherwise , and he made a full recovery and kept his eye!Dr. Link has been with us through all the tears and heartbreak of losing pets over the years. I have two cats that I starting taking to Community Animal Hospital this spring after a particularly bad experience at another local animal hospital. I'm just sorry I didn't switch sooner! My cats primary veterinarian is Dr. O'Hagan, who is fantastic. She's very knowledgable, easy to talk to and her love for animals is obvious. Both of my cats have stomatitis, and needed almost all of their teeth removed; Dr. O'Hagan was also the surgeon for each cats tooth extraction. I was extremely nervous, but she was great about explaining to me what would be involved and she was very reassuring. On the day of each cats surgery, Dr. O'Hagan called to give me updates and kindly prefaced each call by telling me right away that everything was going well. It has now been a few months since their extractions and they're doing soo great! No more red gums and bad breath (oh my gosh it was so bad), and my littlest cat who was always too thin, has gained weight. Cats are funny creatures, and it's often not apparent that they're in pain; it wasn't obvious to me as they were always affectionate, playful and seemingly happy. However, I have noticed lots of positive changes in their behaviors and personalities since the surgery, which is proof to me that their quality of life has improved. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. I've experienced a few vets in the past with some family dogs, but having my own was a little different. I called around a few places (like the ones I knew) and this was one of the only ones who were very inviting. Being a crazy dog mom, as most are, they are always so quick to get me any answers I need. From my dog eating batteries to ear infections and vomiting. There is no better place to bring your pet than Community Animal Hospital! The doctors there are extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and go ABOVE AND BEYOND to care for your pets. I have three dogs that all are seen there and they have had issues from cancerous lumps to eye ulcers and the care that my dogs receive from the vets there is just great. My husband and I have always brought our cats to CAH. We usually see Dr. Link, but have seen some of the other doctors as well if we have had emergencies. The entire staff is professional, caring and always accommodating to the needs of our pets. We, unfortunately, have had to put 2 of our cats to sleep over the years and they have been so compassionate. I cannot say enough about CAH. It is a clean and friendly place. We have also used the groomer and boarding service that they have downstairs and it is also very nice. I have had such bad experiences with animal hospitals.  I always feel like a horrible person when I walk out, after spending $500 to care for my pet.  It never is enough and the sales pitches are relentless.  I called CAH this morning because my cat "Fred" was exhibiting signs of asthma.  They got me in at 9:30 a.m. for a regular visit - again, regular, non-emergency.  From the time that I called and spoke to the receptionist (who told me about her personal experience with cat asthma, which I loved), to the kind and CALM check in process, to the technician to the vet - all so professional, caring and amazing.  I left with a prognosis of definitive asthma, a treatment plan and a promise for follow up.  I expressed my financial constraints and they worked with me to make sure that I spent my money on the most urgent diagnostic testing, rather than the "recommended battery of tests.  They let me know about everything, but they were compassionate  and helped me navigate through the jumble to a place that I was comfortable. I appreciate this so much.  I always have left the vets feeling like a horrible pet-parent that was cheaping out on my beloved pet.  For once I felt empowered and pro-active.  My cat has already started treatment and I feel very confident that he will get better.  I highly recommend this team of professionals.  I have had pets my entire life and this was my best vet visit to date. I started bringing my dogs to see Dr. Morana almost 20 years ago, when she was practicing under another clinic.  I was excited to learn that she was going to open her own Animal Hospital and I became one of her first customers at her new facility. Community Animal Hospital of Shrewsbury is a state of the art veterinary facility but more importantly, Dr. Morana and her staff are professional, highly skilled, and compassionate.  I have seen several of the veterinarians and have been pleased every time.  Even though I live about 35 minutes away from the facility today,  I still bring my pets to Community Animal Hospital because I am so confident in their abilities to take care of my current pet, a big fluffy white cat.   I would highly recommend Community Animal Hospital! I've been taking my dog here for about a year. I do agree that the pricing may be higher than other local options, but I think the service is worth it. I'm a new pet owner, and I make a lot of phone calls to the office with some pretty silly questions. The receptionists and techs are always nice and helpful. I also think the vet I see is nice and great at explaining the different things she is doing (and the charges for them), so nothing is unexpected or confusing. My dog isn't afraid of the vet at all, but he actually likes going and getting lots of love from all the staff. He's a big, strong boy, and everyone handles him really well.Update 7/14: I am still satisfied with CAH, but I did want to note that I changed vets within the practice. I saw Dr. O'Hagan when I brought my dog in with a cough, and she seemed much more comfortable with a big (75lb lab) than the vet I had been seeing. No issues with the care from the previous vet, but it seemed like Dr O'Hagan was much more willing to deal with excited jumping and kisses. Read Less

Community Animal Hospital is fantastic.  Yes, their prices are a little high, but it's worth it in my opinion.  I've checked out other vets in the area and they pale in comparison.  Most importantly, we always get to see Dr. Link and she is absolutely wonderful.  She will remember you and your pets and is genuinely concerned about all of them.The facility is awesome.  It was built to be a vet, and it shows.  It's a beautiful building inside and it's set up just right for you and your animals to be comfortable.  There's never been too terribly long of a wait and they do well to accommodate emergencies and appointment preferences.   They've been great when I've had questions and concerns about my cats and a phone call has kept me from going there for an appointment a couple times.  Clearly if they were just concerned with money they'd have told me to bring her in!I recently had one of my cats have a dental done, which resulted in having all but her two top canine teeth removed.  She was there all day and they took really great care of her.  The vet that was in charge of the surgery was awesome and they really know what they're doing.  They will sit with you and go through everything and put you at ease for whatever your animal needs done.   I will have no doubts going back there if something is wrong with my pet.We've discussed different things with Dr. Link, she's always interested in learning about new studies and provides us with a lot of information.  She recent;y discussed with us, in regards to the antibiotic shot that our cat was given prior to surgery, that they aren't the first to jump on a new thing, they want to see how it turns out and how it works for others first, and once they're confident in something, they're happy to give it a try, and they're always looking into new things to make sure they can treat your pet as best as they can.  Sure, I'd like to be able to save some money (and I sure don't have much of it), but it's my babies and I have a lot of faith in CAH and they've proven to be awesome, so I don't plan on going anywhere else!  At least while I leave nearby, anyway. The vets are very caring but they charge high prices for their meds and suppliments and discourage people from using online sources. They tried to tell me that I'd get expired or counterfeit medicines which is just not true if a reputable source is used! If they don't want people to go online to buy pet meds then they should charge more reasonable prices. Read Less
