I have had to come to the office. I had elderly pets with complicated health issues. As painful as it was euthanizing them, the Dr and Staff were very gentle and kind.

As one of the managers of the Turtle Rescue League I strongly encourage pet owners to take their dogs and cats to this awesome Veterinary Hospital in downtown Southbridge. Although they don't work on Turtles the vet and her staff are always generous in getting our Wildlife patience end and x-rayed at a moment's notice... It speaks well to their generosity in the size of their hearts and their donation to help wildlife! We need more great people running great businesses like this in the world! Read Less

The doctor was rude and spoke in a condescending manner to me throughout the entire visit. At first I shrugged it off, thinking she was having a bad day. But when the doctor took a fecal sample, my little twelve pound dog yelped in pain. The doctor said in an angry voice TO MY DOG, "oh quit complaining, it's not that bad." Well, our visit WAS that bad and I'm sorry my fifteen year old daughter had to witness it. We will never go back. Read Less

7 years ago there was a lump on my dog, the doctor insisted surgery was the only way to know what it was. I was young and didnt have the money. There are a few times I've brought my dog in and its always gonna need more testing or surgery. Everytime making me think we was gonna die over night. Like when he broke a toe nail. I know its possible for a dog to bleed out if it goes up to the wick enough, but they presented as a fact, not a possibility. Anytime i have gone to tufts per the doctors suggestion, I pay a ridiculous amount of money to get services that arent actually emergencies. When a second lump appeared, again I was told surgery was the only way to know. I went to the VCA. They did an asprite for $70 and told me my dog had cancer. He had cancer for 4 years go undiagnosed because this vet doesnt have the capability to do an asprite. I admit i could have sought a second opinion in the beginging but i was 20 and completely new to having a dog. The staff is nice and they have always treated my bully breed respectfully. BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PROPER RESOURCES TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE YOUR DOG.Read Less

I will never ever recommend this place to anyone they were giving my charlie a exam for worms. Never checked his buttocks to even see if anything was present although we did a check on his feces with negative results. Thank God...anyway as she was going the exam on charlie she happen to be checking his right leg he immediately turned back his head and growled so badly that it made me nervous and I'm his mom...I asked are you taking his temperature and she replied no..I'm touching his leg. She never followed up on why he was obviously in that much pain when she touched his leg. I was asking her about Charlies breathing because i was not comfortable with the way he sounded ..he was breathing more from his throat than his lungs....while we were talking about this I asked if she heard Charlies heart murmur and she said no she couldn't hear much with his breathing.... I was like well why is he breathing like this..she gave me two examples either his palate is too long or he could have a collapsed trachea in which case we would send him to a different dr....ok.....I get that. But she never said how to diagnose this....or anything I could do to help alleviate it which I found alot of things online from other vets it turns out charlie is a toy dog. Part Yorkshire part Maltese which are both known for a collapsed trachea....she was NO help....on his collapsed trachea he might have or why he wanted to attack because his back leg hurt so much when she touched it. She didn't even take a second look ....I would not recommend this hospital if any one cares about good care of their beloved furry family members ......it was as if she didn't care that he could not breath correctly or the total pain in his leg.....I immediately called and asked to have Charlies records sent to a different veterinarian.....my dog means more to me than her not doing anything about his discomfort except tell me he might have this or this. With out the help he needed ...no more visits here for charlie and I do not recommend the veterinarian to give my charlie the care he needed. If any one has had a good visit and the help their little loved one needed I'm glad.. but she is not the one to treat my charlie .. Read Less

HORRIBLE! I would never take my dog here again. They were completely unorganized....I had given them all of our info over the phone beforehand and had my dog's records faxed over. When I got there, they claimed that they did not get the records, but after insisting that I had it faxed, they realized that they had it! Then...they charge a crapload of money for a blood test. And then...I wait almost a week for the results and decide to call and find out what's going on. The person who answered states that they did get the results back but the Dr. had been busy and would call me later. An hour later, the Dr. calls and tells me that she is very concerned with the levels in my dog's liver and kidneys and proceeds to tell me that I should have all of these other tests run. Are you kidding? I was assuming that there were no issues since the Dr. was not in a hurry to get back to us with the results.....my vet from our last home was fantastic and I hope I find another fantastic one in this area because the Southbridge Vet Hospital should not be allowed to work on animals!
