Before our adopted dog from Texas was transported to us in April 2016, I knew I needed to get him checked out locally and establish him as a patient at a veterinary practice. A very good friend of mine who has had cats for most of her life without hesitation recommended Lloyd Animal Medical Center. Our first appointment went well when soon after our precious Oliver made his way up to us, and we were thrilled to learn that he was indeed in excellent health. Not knowing anything about heartworm medication, flea/tick prevention, additional vaccines, the staff was wonderful in educating me about the different medications and the options that they had to choose from. They were very upfront about price and there were no surprises. When I needed a refill, I simply just stopped in on a Saturday to pick one up. Very convenient, as they always had the meds in stock. But that is not the only reason for my review today.I cannot thank Dr. Buffman enough for when Oliver suddenly came down with Pancreatitis last month. On a Saturday Oliver was not eating, drinking, and not at all acting his normal bouncy self. I called Lloyd Animal Medical Center and they had me come in within the hour to be seen. Dr. Buffman could have not been kinder or more professional during Oliver's exam and went over his treatment plan with us in great detail. He had also said that if Oliver was still not doing well the next day, to call the office and he would be paged by the answering service. On Sunday Oliver was looking even worse, so I called the clinic and I received a phone call back from Dr. Buffman within 5 minutes. He listened to what was going on, and advised us to take him to Tufts VETS for fluids and blood work, but to come see him at 8am the following day- to save us from having to admit him to Tufts, which while they are wonderful, he advised that the cost would extremely high, and Oliver could end up being there for a number of days. Thankfully on Monday morning we showed up at the clinic and Oliver was doing better, so we were able to go home that morning and he didn't need to be admitted. Over the course of the next week, he got a bit better each day and was back to his normal self not long after. I am so grateful and thankful to Dr. Buffman and staff for taking such wonderful care of our "fur child", while he had two really anxious pet parents to care for as well. Side note, I highly recommend pet insurance. It is completely worth it, even if you don't really use it, you have the peace of mind that it is there if you do. Read Less
