Vca Blackstone Valley Animal Hospital

Uxbridge, Massachusetts
General Info
VCA Blackstone Valley Animal Hospital in Uxbridge embraces pets with a paced approach that steps through care stages using behavioral markers and owner-read cues across Massachusetts. When animals arrive they undergo observation during check-in which includes their responses to scent layers flooring texture eye contact and nearby movement instead of just medical checks. Clinicians modify examination procedures in response to posture signals and handling feedback by slowing down or pausing when they detect restlessness breath changes or resistance. Examinations encompass intricate assessments of coat density hydration muscle composition limb responsiveness dental surfaces oral heat and abdominal flexibility. Homeowners receive invitations to discuss recent domestic behaviors where subtle alterations in daily patterns combined with vocal shifts and energy movements provide guidance for subsequent actions. VCA Blackstone Valley Animal Hospital delivers organized diagnostic services alongside immunizations while it monitors pain levels and implements aging wellness protocols through collaborative illness mapping. The flexibility of appointments permits either single-step visits or multi-day staging based on the emotional capacity of both animal and household. Communication across visits is supported through the integration of visual tools such as diagrams, tracking calendars, and photo logs. The concept of follow-up care transforms from a simple reminder into an ongoing dialogue. The system of check-ins relies on behavioral settling instead of solely depending on timeframes. Pet owners receive training to observe sensory regulation along with activity re-entry after visits particularly for animals who become withdrawn or display externalization following stimulation-heavy experiences. VCA Blackstone Valley Animal Hospital offers veterinary services across Uxbridge and nearby Massachusetts regions that initiate with awareness while supporting home routines and respecting physical and emotional limits throughout the process.

We brought our adopted dog here for the past 6 months, and he was very sickly. This seems like a very nice veterinary Hospital. I have two dogs and brought them in for annual shots. I cut out their coupon for a free exam. The exam room and waiting room were very clean though small. My only concern was that this place seems high priced. For a free exam and shots, it was over $400 (for two dogs). With the exam being free, I thought it would be less. Read Less

I brought my two kittens in for their first exam and initial distemper vaccine and de-worming (8 weeks old). I thought the staff was friendly and resourceful. I then brought both kittens (11 weeks old) in 3 weeks later on a Wednesday for their distemper booster. The technician would not allow me in the room, they informed me that "they just do it in the back". Being a first time pet owner, I didn't know any better. About 15 minutes later the vet brought my two kittens out to me and said to me so and so "bit my vet tech". The vet then proceeded to tell me "I don't think she has rabies, but I am going to give you a sheet of things to look for. I need to file a work comp claim and the insurance company will want to know we had this conversation". Mind you... my kittens are not even old enough for rabies shots yet. The vet told me to just monitor the kitten for the next 10 days. A little confused, I paid my bill and scheduled the last appointment for the distemper booster. I then received a call on a Sunday afternoon from my town's board of health, informing me that they were going to quarantine my 11 week old kitten. Confused again, I explained my situation. I explained that my 11 WEEK OLD KITTEN allegedly bit the vet tech, I explained that I was not allowed to be present during the appointment. The inspector advised that he would talk to the Vet on Monday and give me a call back. I received a call Tuesday (Day 6) which I let go to voicemail. In the voicemail the inspector informed me "apparently the kitten bit 3 people at the vet". This is outrageous to me. I feel these allegations are false. How am I supposed to know what actually happened if I wasn't even allowed to be present for the vaccinations and why wouldn't the vet have told me my kitten bit 3 people. And honestly... how hard can a kitten bit. I would not recommend this Animal Hospital. I am curious as to why, trained professionals are unable to handle an 11 week old kitten. This is their job... I will be cancelling all future appointments and finding veterinary care elsewhere.Read Less
