I can't express enough how caring this vet practice was while treating one of our cats. She was unfortunately diagnosed with a terminal illness at a very young age. We will be forever grateful with the compassion given during what was distressing time for us. We felt well informed about what our options were and any questions were happily answered. All of the staff here is extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about cats. Our two cats were not socialized as kittens, thus are very skittish. The staff was wonderful about taking care of them. Going to the vet is stressful for any cat, but they made it a much less stressful experience. Read Less

No place on earth better for cats.  They are kind and so friendly.  It is so clean and the vet is so nice and thorough.  I started out at other places but wound up here after a friend recommended it.  Staff is nice and so accommodating.  You can tell they love cats.  The Vets are knowledgeable and kind.  I would not recommend any Cat Vet more highly than Cat Hospital!  10 Stars! THIS PLACE RULES.  I don't remember the name of the vet, but he was so nice, as was everyone who worked there.  They were very transparent about costs and what exactly they were doing with my cat, which I appreciated.  Also, my cat is a jerk and pooped all over himself in the cat box on the way there, and they were super helpful with cleaning him and being understanding.  Also, the vet had a tie with cats on it which was pretty cool. My family and I have used many vets around Boston, and Dr. Cosimini is by far the kindest, most skilled, and most knowledgable. If there is a health issue, he diagnoses and treats it accurately. He does not push unnecessary and expensive treatments. He will answer any question, and calls back asap in emergencies. His staff are professional, and the examining rooms are very clean. It makes a huge difference taking your cats to a vet that does not see dogs. Cats will be calmer, but most important, Dr. Cosimini and his staff genuinely love cats. There's no chance of seeing a doctor who is reluctant to handle the animal or spends little time on the exam. I am just so grateful I found Dr. Cosimini. I got a sphynx kitten in July and had an uncomfortable experience with a vet I didn't trust before I came to The Cats Hospital. I had to go with my gut since it's my first cat, thank god I did. Our first visit with Dr.Cosmini went really well. Jamie is the secretary,  she loves my kitten Luna and was so sweet and patient. Suzie was the Dr's assistant/vet tech , and Luna immediately was purring in her arms and cleaning her face. They put a blanket down on the table so Luna wouldn't be cold, the whole check up Luna was calm and that makes me comfortable. Suzie gave us a tour of the hospital,  showed us the room for surgery, I love how open they are. Dr.Cosmini is soft spoken, calm, very professional and understanding that this is my baby we are talking about! We had Luna spayed last week. I was terrified,  to say the least. The Cats Hospital staff were very understanding and told me I could call however many times I wanted to check up on her. Dr.Cosmini assured me Luna would be fine. I asked him if we could use a different anesthesia for the spay, because sphynx cats can have heart trouble from the most common one used. He was totally fine with it and explained everything thoroughly. Dr.Cosmini is so available, I've had a few questions and called, he gets on the phone, explains with patience and answers my questions. I've had 4 cats over the last 28 years, 2 feral Maine Coons, and more recently two Maine Coon sisters from a cattery, all of whom have been cared for at some point by the professional and compassionate staff at The Cat Hospital.  The reason I am writing this review is because I stumbled across a yelp review listing for The Cat Hospital while searching for their telephone number in order to make an an annual check-up appointment.  I took a moment to read through all of the reviews and noticed there was a single negative review among all of the others which seemed very positive.I am not a veterinarian, however, I can assure you after 28 years of caring for 4 cats, I have developed an understanding of what is expected of me to engage the vet to ensure my cat's health is the best it can be.The negative review didn't make sense for a few reasons: 1) I have ALWAYS been asked to bring a stool sample when visiting the clinic for annual check-ups or a visit where a stool sample might be relevant to diagnosing a health issue.  This is not only true for the The Cat Hospital, but other vets who've provided care for my first cat.2) When you have two cats in the house the complexity of diagnosing potential parasite issues is more difficult because you can't be sure which cat the stool sample is from.3) I have never felt Dr. Cosimini has been forceful in his approach with regard to wellness visits or when there has been a health issue.  He has a consultative approach and depending on each situation he will patiently explain the diagnosis and options for treatment.4) A $175 vet bill for two cats?... welcome to the world of healthcare!  If you want quality care you get what you pay for.Personally, I like Dr. Cosimini and his staff, and for that matter it's the reason I took the time to write this review.  However, liking my vet is not enough to entrust the health and wellness of my cats to someone.  Dr Cosimini's clinical expertise is what matters and has certainly proven invaluable in keeping my cats healthy over the years.If you have a cat and are looking for a vet, The Cat Hospital is a great place to ensure your cat's health is well looked after.
