We previously boarded another cat at The Black Cat Inn as medical and, since then, we will not go anywhere else. The prices are comparable, but it's all about the staff. They are very caring and concerned, wanting to know specifics about what the cats like, how they eat, etc. Tiger is very fearful, so they gave him a large condo at no extra charge. As a 17yo long hair, he gets matted and can't be shaved anymore in the summer due to age. The techs shaved the few mats we couldn't get while he was having his nails clipped for $20.00. It is very reassuring to have a vet available and the technicians seemed knowledgeable about animal health. Healthy Paws is clean, very attractive with a large window to see the cats in their condos, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We would probably take our other cats and dog for wellness exams if it wasn't 1/2 hour away from home. They are definately worth the drive for boarding and we'll use them again if we need to. They send automated appt texts and emails to confirm dropoff and pickup (times can be changed-just let the office know if will be later). Drawback - the address. Hi, My name is Jeff. My wife Dawn and I brought our new puppy (Lucy) to Healthy Paws for her first visit. I have to say that we were very impressed with this facility from the minute we walked in the door. There are separate waiting areas for dogs and cats which we felt is a great idea. We were also very impressed with the cleanliness. From the second we walked in, we were greeted with enthusiasm. The front desk staff treated us as if they had known us for a while (this was our first time there). The tech was also very good and asked many questions about Lucy’s every day life. He did a thorough job. After he was done, Dr. Saint came in and you’ld think she had known Lucy since birth . (Clearly an animal lover) . Cannot say enough good things about the staff here. We live in Boston and drive our dog Oliver out there for all his veterinary needs. The staff are kind and knowledgeable. When Oliver needed substantial dental work I trusted them and they were great. Other vets wanted to charge a price per tooth pulled which they explained makes no sense since some can be pulled out with very little effort. I cannot recommend this place enough. Great experience started even before our first visit with our new puppy. The receptionist answered several questions and was so helpful. Signed up for first visit online as it is free when you sign up for an appt online. This center is fantastic! I started taking my three pups there when I first moved to the area and was amazed by the caring and helpful staff. I recently had to put of of my pups down and the amount of compassion left both myself and my family speechless. They even surprised me when I picked up my pup's ashes with a mold of her paw print and a note from the staff. Truly can't say enough good things about Healthy Paws. Charine Tabbah is an exceptional vet technician and person! She is so sweet to my dog, who I rescued in August, just after moving to Westborough. She'll get right on the floor at his level and cuddle him and make him feel comfortable. She's always honest with me and of course taking your dog to the vet is never cheap, but I know my money is being well spent because he's getting treated amazingly there. I had a very unfortunate experience. My dog who appeared to be in good health except for his teeth and pre-existing diabetes died during, what we all thought, would be a routine a dental surgery. There was no explanation for the death. We requested surgical notes which we received. It appeared he went through the 4 hour surgery (seems like a long surgery) fine and died upon coming out of anesthesia. We know he was able to weather surgery in his recent past as he had two lens replacements to ensure his eyesight due to diabetes. The past surgeries were also at great cost. We were glad to give him a chance at saving his eyesight for his future years. He came through those two surgeries without any problem. This was the first and only time we will use this Veterinary Center. We understand there is a risk going into any surgery. We continue to have difficulty managing the sorrow of his passing and also of the abruptness and the shock of the loss. It appeared the center treated the death as it might for any death in a veterinary practice (paw print and card with signatures - but did not initiate further comment on the unusual death). We did contact them to review the circumstances of the death. They were apologetic at that time. We were not charged for the surgery.Read Less

Great staff of thorough and knowledgeable veterinarians and technicians to care for and pamper your beloved pets. We had our puppy spayed/neutered, and she was up and about like normal after the second day. People at the pet store (both workers and customers) were amazed at the quality of the surgery... very small incisions that were almost unnoticeable even with the dissolvable stitches, no overnight stay required, and quick recovery time. My family relocated to the area, so we're just getting settled in and suddenly my eldest dog was limping and we couldn't figure out why. I called Healthy Paws after looking at some reviews. I called them, explained the issue, forwarded dogs medical records from previous vet. They got me in that afternoon and gave me a checklist of everything they were going to do. They were able to accommodate me as I had to go pick up kids and leave my dog with them. After returning, I found out my 10 year old pup tested positive for Lyme disease. I had to bring a rescue pet in for a follow-up visit today and was very impressed with this place. Everyone knew who the kitten was, was interested in how she was doing, and was excited about her recovery. They obviously made the right diagnosis and prescribed the correct treatment because she's definitely done well.The building itself is clean, bright, and well-laid out. The instructions on the web page tell you to program your GPS for 1 Fruit Street, which is extremely helpful if you don't know the area. There is ample parking close to the building.My husband and I have decided not to have a permanent pet for a while because of our work/travel schedules, but if we did, I would definitely go to Healthy Paws. I could not be more thankful for everything this clinic has done for myself and my bengal Gizzy. Dr Leavey and the entire staff are amazing. I never ever feel like I am being recommended something that my animals don't need as I have in the past with other vets. They saved Gizzys life after a long ordeal and he was treated with as much love and care as he would have if he had been at home. Wow, what can I say about this clinic that does it all and really pays attention to both the needs of your pet and the circumstances that the family is in.My seven year old westie Maisie has been ill for several years with vomiting and projectile bowel movements off and on. We used to live in Boston and her first vet wasn't sure what to treat her with. So, we went to Angell. After nearly $3,000 worth of tests, there was still no diagnosis. We tried to maintain Maisie's GI tract the best we could with prescription food that left her susceptible to yeast (which led to skin infections every few months) and she still would still starve herself every few weeks and end up sick again. It was a vicious cycle and the dog was suffering from it. We moved to the Westborough area and in steps Healthy Paws and Dr. Pomeroy. Dr. Pomeroy looked over Maisie's history with a fine toothed comb and was always available to take my calls when Maisie wound up sick again. Knowing that I didn't want to put the dog through (or pay for)the same barrage of tests she went through at Angell, I asked Dr. Pomeroy if we could treat her as if she has Copper Storage disease. She went ahead and researched foods and put Maisie on a low copper food to see if that would help while we waited to decide if we wanted to put Maisie through testing again.It's been over two weeks since Maisie has been on the new prescription food. She's like a new dog. She's more playful, her mouth isn't stained brown, and her teeth are cleaner. She hasn't gotten sick once. She asks for affection, too. I feel relieved and everyone in our family comments on how good she looks and acts. In addition, Jessica groomed her for the first time a few weeks ago and this is the best cut she's ever gotten!This is a great place and they do it all with a friendly smile and caring demeanor. I can't say enough about Healthy Paws right now!Our elderly dog had a tumor on his leg (which we had previously chosen not to treat) that suddenly ruptured and started bleeding, and our regular vet was out of town on an extended trip. We tried an emergency clinic, but they wanted to do hundreds of dollars in tests before they'd consider removing the growth.  A tech at our regular vet suggested we try calling Healthy Paws.Within 2 hours of my phone call, they got me and my dog in to see Dr. Russell. After she examined my dog, looked at his records from my vet's office and his blood test from the clinic, she agreed to do the surgery the next day. She did a wonderful job and my dog is now home, recovering.Dr. Russell listened to what we needed and was practical in her care plan. The whole staff was very caring with our dog. The post-operative instructions were clear and well documented. The prices were quite reasonable; the facility gorgeous and clean.  I would make this my regular vet's office in a heartbeat! Fantastic.  Dr. Russell absolutely amazing.  They are always accommodating, even if it is not an emergency situation, we can get in very quickly.  My Golden Retriever had some allergy issues when she was a puppy, and we worked to find solutions.  They dispense all of the medication there, which can be good (convenient), but a little more pricey than if you order it on line.  Their computer system keeps accurate and thorough records, and those records are easily faxed to doggie day care, etc.  I would HIGHLY recommend them!
