We are new to the area. We found ticks on our dog and she had symptoms that were causing us to worry.     I called to make an appointment, explaining all this. The receptionist stated that because we were new, she couldn't be seen until a week later because current patients were priority.  I didn't expect a same day appointment or of course, to jump in front of someone else's appointment.  If it had been a request for a routine checkup, we absolutely would have waited a week. This was not an emergency nor was it routine. If they had an opening for a current patient in this situation, then why not give it to a new patient if there is an opening?     The fact that she didn't care about our dog's situation to even make an attempt to try to squeeze her in the same week( I called early in the week), told me what kind of vet this place is and sealed the deal for us. They don't care about new patients, only existing ones. This is not a place that I would want to give my business to since this is their philosophy.     I called another vet and she was able to squeeze us in two days later and then she actually found us an appointment for the next day.  At least she made an attempt, which is all I was looking for. I have been bringing my multiple senior adopted dogs to this service for some 20 years and have been extremely satisfied with all the vets, techs and kennel people every time. This is by far the best vet in the area. What I really like best about them is their medical judgement.  They only run tests if they are absolutely medically necessary, which keeps the bill reasonable. The receptionists are friendly and helpful, Dr Smith and Dr Sarah are awesome. Read Less

My family has been with the clinic for over thirty years, we consider them family.  Westford Veterinary clinic has been taking care of our Golden Retrievers since we moved to town 33 years ago, my dogs have been part of our family always multiple dogs up to four at a time and as little as two. Trust is important and we trust them 100% we have pets and we have show dogs which have been traveling with us around the country and Canada. Dr. Craig and his vet. We too came to this practice from the very expensive nearby vet.  We have been going here for many years and have been very satisfied with the care our pets (3 dogs) receive.  Everyone from the office staff to the vet techs and vets are kind and friendly.  They know who we are when we come in, and help us cajole our elderly lab onto the scale.  We recommended this vet to several others and all have been satisfied with the care that their pets receive. I have been bringing my own dogs and cats to Nashoba Valley for over 8 years. I also run a dog boarding and doggie daycare called king's kanines locally and refer all my clients there. The staff is extremely caring, and the rates reasonable.  The facility is always spotless! They are always available to answer questions or concerns. My experience with the doctors have always been dog care first, and never have they recommended unnecessary procedures to drive up costs like others I have been to. I give an A++ Read Less

I have had really great experiences with my cats at Nashoba. Their vets (I've seen Drs. Smith and Tryjankowski), techs, and front desk staff are always helpful, and the costs are much less than I've had at any vet EVER. One of my cats was recently there for over a week due to a serious condition and he received really wonderful care and the cost was literally about 40% of what I had braced myself for. There will likely never be a time in my life when I don't have a pet but if there were I would get one just to go to this vet.  Our pets are our family, and to our family, so is this vet practice!!!  They treat all our animals as if they are their own. They are honest, communicative and compassionate.  When I call, or walk in they know me, they know every one of my pets, and we chat - like old friends (because at this point, we are!).   The boarding kennel in the back is very convenient and someplace I am super comfortable to leave every one of my animals.  As a matter of fact, if I were to say the name "Aprile" (she runs the boarding kennel) my last dog would go to the door and whine until I brought him there!!  He had Cancer and they were able to treat him at a fraction of the cost it would have been at NVOG or anywhere else.  They extended his life 9 months (good, solid months) and cried with me when he passed ... even sent flowers.  I could never ever even consider going to another vet, and neither should you. I don't live particularly close to this vet but my parents used to use them so when my wife and I got a dog we went there. The staff are very friendly. My dog didn't like it. (The horse statue in the corner really freaked him out.) I have to admit that I have not found them to be more honest than some other Vets in the area (see my other reviews) but they were very good to us. Read Less

Like other online reviewers, we came to Nashoba from a *very* expensive vet nearby.  I only wish I'd found them sooner!  Dr. Smith and his staff were fantastic when I needed to bring my cat in first thing this morning without an appointment (and as a new client).  They made room for us immediately.  Once he'd diagnosed my cat's problem, Dr. Smith took time to talk through different approaches for treatment.  And he was just great with my cat, who actually seemed at ease in the exam room!  In the end, I felt like a good cat mom, our bill was half of what it would have been at our old vet (I know this because we have another cat who had to be seen for the same problem a few months ago)...and this evening my cat is feeling better.  All four of our cats will be going here from now on. I came to Nashoba from a "high end" vet nearby. I had a long history with this "other" vets and saw it go from decent and honest, to, from what I can tell, money hungry and deceitful. My experience with Nashoba has helped me regain my faith in veterinary practice. The staff at Nashoba is skilled and caring. They give me my options and respect my choices. Dr. Sarah was superb. We brought our aged dog to the hospital recently and, like other reviewers on this site, the hospital did not charge us for the visit. They were more concerned about helping the dog, whose disposition and tx plan became much more favorable than what we expected. We did pay for our visit, though, insisting that the hospital take the payment for such great service. Seems they focus much on satisfaction to keep their customers coming back for years and years and pets and pets. We saw a lot of happy customers while there, too. Read Less

The breeder of our dog recommended this vet.  We went here for 13 years until our dog passed away of old age.  I was happy with their service, how they interacted with me and my dog, and their fee schedule (other vet's in the area are WAY MORE expensive, eventually they leave them and come to Nashoba Valley Vet Hospital).  We're pet-less now, but I still feel loyal to them. These vets are the best! We had 3 pygmy goats that got really sick...they met us at the clinic on a Sunday and never even charged us. We had to repeatedly bring the goats back and they only charged us once. They were more concerned about finding out what was wrong with the animals than the almighty dollar. I also bring my dog there and again, they are very reasonable...you don't feel like you've been totally ripped off. Read Less
