I have been taking my animals to WAH for the last five years. The staff was great, from the doctors to the techs to the receptionists you could see that they truly loved animals and understood the bond between owner and pet. The facility itself is very clean and easy to get to. Its convenient for me as its close to home. They have lovely grounds, a kennel and grooming services. There have been some personnel changes over recent years and not all of those changes have been positive. While I am still impressed with the doctors on staff, it seems that every time I go, I'm meeting a new one! All seem qualified, are very kind and gentle, but each has their own opinions and methods of treatment and its a little unsettling. I feel that no sooner do I get comfortable with a doctor, then that doctor is no longer there and a new face has joined the team. And then there are the techs. I adored the techs at this hospital. Until yesterday. Different techs. Not my adored techs. Granted, my dog was being extremely difficult having his nails trimmed ( I did warn them that he can be a jerk about his nails). He squirmed, he snapped his nubby teeth, he snarled, but they got the job done, but in doing so, they cut his quick and he bled, a lot, it happens. The problem came when they didn't tell me what happened. A tech brought him back, plopped him on the floor, shoved him into the room and rushed out, shutting the door as quickly as she could behind her, never to be seen again. I looked at my dog, and then the floor and then the blood. I picked up my dog and motioned to another tech and let her know he was bleeding. She came huffing in with the styptic powder and a bad attitude, angrily telling my dog "you have to chill! you're going to keep bleeding unless you chill! " Like my dog understands that. He understands "stop" "no" "up" "down" "cookie" "sit" and "night night", he can't comprehend a lesson in street psychology. Dogs 101: They pick up on your stress, if you're stressed, they are stressed; if you are yelling at him to calm down, guess what? He's not gonna calm down, he's going to stress out more and also, he's in pain, because you just hacked away at his blood vessels, so I'm thinking the tech "has to chill". If those techs were treating my dog like that while I was in the room, I would hate to think how they would treat him if I weren't there! Bad techs! Bad bad techs! Thankfully the doctor came back in all calm and wise and got the bleeding to stop and wrapped my dogs paw up (probably unnecessary but I could tell she felt bad). It wasn't her fault. I'm not blaming anyone for my dog getting cut, its very hard to trim a squirmy dog's nails. The doctor even called me later that night to check on my dog. Very nice. Good Doctor. Bad Techs! Read Less
