Not reliable for kennel service. We started taking German Shepherd, Flint, to Thornwood for our routine veterinary service. About 6 weeks ago, he had issues with blood in his urine. They referred us to Blue Pearl (which has been fantastic). Since then, he has been seen by Purdue University for a specialty treatment. Our dog has received a transfusion two weeks ago, but if finally getting better. He has been cleared by our doctor at Purdue to regain a normal regime of play and other normal puppy activities. With my fiancé and I both out of town on Wednesday, we thought what better place to send him for boarding than the same place he goes to vet visits. Especially since the staff seemed fond of him. Instead of being accepted, he was refused for "liability." The owner and/or manager was rude and uncooperative. Instead of thinking about the best location for the dog, he is more concerned with a potential lawsuit since our dog would be unsupervised from 11pm to 7 am. The manager/owner did not contact Purdue for his current health status. He did not know the right dates for boarding and assumed this was for the Fourth of July holiday. He was more concerned with a potential lawsuit than the wellbeing of my dog.We have done everything to give our dog the best fight he can. He has been stable despite his recent hardships. We have easily paid $3-4k without hesitation - to give him the best treatment and care as possible. Even though this has been a birth defect, we have not once blamed the breeders. (I'm in constant communication with her of well wishes for our dog). I refuse to allow this manager and/or owner from acting like we are going to financially "ruin" them if something happened to our dog while boarding. Accidents happen, and even we couldn't have prevented any of Flints hardships. Since they are more concerned about lawsuits and finances, its safe to say we will no longer be using them for our veterinary or boarding services. I'm also considering submitting a complaint with the BBB. Read Less
