We have known Dr. Connell for over 30 years, Beginning on a cold snowy night when he did colic surgery on our horse and saved him in the equine surgical facility he built in his clinic. Since then he has seen us through several animals, always the brilliant diagnostician, providing effective treatments, and performing safe and successful surgeries. He is also wonderful with his furry clients’ people/owners, explaining situations in detail, helping us make difficult decisions, and supporting us emotionally. He “feels” the animals and their needs with his vast knowledge and huge heart. My husband is a pediatrician; it cracks me up listening to them bantering as well as discussing seriously treatments and medicine dosages for 7 pound babies, 12 pound cats, 80 pound dogs, and 100 pound children with common diagnoses of diabetes, obesity, orthopedic injuries, and other ailments and diseases. It is an honor to have him as our vet and, though I’m sure he would not touch it with a 10 foot pole, I would trust him with my own life , as evidenced by our tongue-in-cheek melodramatic cries to each other whenever we get sick, “Quick,—call the vet!” Would that all of our doctors were as good as.he is as a vet!!!

Amazing place. Took good care of my dog and my family when it was clear she wasn't going to make it. Doc has good "bedside manner" and everyone was thoughtful and caring.

Doc Connell is a compassionate and consummate animal care professional. I manage a dog rescue and drive from over an hour away to be able to have all of our animals See Dr. Jim. He and his staff (we love LeAnn) have always been wonderful to work with and although I have had horses, dogs, cats and other pets my whole life I have never worked with such a competent and compassionate Veterinarian. When I visit the clinic I am not seeing my Veterinarian I am visiting with family and friends. Without Dr. Jim we would not be able to provide the extent of medical care and services we do for the dogs that come into rescue. He provides quality reasonable cost care that as a rescue we can afford. The care for other's animals is not a job for Doc - it is his passion. He cares for your pet as if it was his own. He is truly a dedicated veterinary professional and a wonderful friend! You ROCK Doc!!

Can't say enough good things about Town & Country. We've struggled with a health issue with one of our dogs for years and changed vets 4 times when nobody could figure it out. Town & Country diagnosed the problem and has been treating it. Our dog is finally seeming like her old self again and being playful. We'll never go to another vet as long as Town & Country have this staff.

He may be a good vet but when I have an emergency I don't appreciate the rude way my friends and I were treated and spoken to, it was stressful enough as it was. I was actually embarrassed that I had told them to get Connell as a Vet for their animals.

I love Dr. CONNELL, he is able to dummify and make things easy to understand. He treats each patient as his own and is able to establish a relationship with each patient and owner. I have to say, Amanda is my favorite receptionist to deal with, have never had a unpleasant phone experience with her. Easy to make an appointment, easy to get prices. Wish they would make a website and Facebook page though.

I love this place he has been seeing my pets for years. After I got married and moved to the other side of the state I found a local vet for the "normal" visits and bring them out to do teeth cleaning and anything serious because he is wonderful, the whole staff is. The prices are way lower then just about anywhere else and they are so accommodating about what you want, not what they think you should do (i.e. shots for an indoor cat that NEVER leaves the house).

Not sure why someone would give a one star review just over a phone call. Seems petty to me. Dr. Connell goes out of his way to care for my dogs. He often makes a farm visit when I have problems getting in. When I do have appointments, I seldom have to wait unless it is for a walk in emergency, which I don't mind waiting for. The assistants make me feel like I'm leaving my dogs with someone that will take just as good care of them as I do.

My husband called to make an appointment for our two dogs to get booster shots, as we have just moved to the area. He was informed that they were not taking any new clients at this time (Which is fine, we get it, the place with the highest reviews online is probably very busy.). However, when he asked if they could recommend any other clinics he was told "No, why don't you check google, there ARE other vets in Allegan." Why thank you, we never would have thought of that. This interaction was uncalled for. The other clinic we called was polite and accommodating and answered all questions without the unnecessary attitude.

I have been a client of DOC Jim Connell since he moved into this practice, I'm thinking around 1997, but not exactly sure. He and his staff are the most devoted, caring and loving people that I have ever had to take care of my beloved pets. I've had all kinds of pets for many years and have never felt as comfortable with the quality of care they are given at Town and Country Veterianary Hospital here in Allegan. He's especially easy to talk to and in times of less than happy visits, he and his staff are comforting and very helpful. I wouldn't Ben think about going anywhere else. I LOVE THESE PEOPLE and this clinic.

What an outstanding practice!!! I love Vet Jim Connell for so many reasons, all of which have to do with the fact that he loves what he does! He's an outstanding clinician and he truly loves his clients...eapecially the animal ones! He's easy to work with and he explains everything so well that I have rarely had a question left when he finishes explaining a treatment plan, procedure or surgery. His office/clinical staff is also an outstanding group of people. I have never had a problem with any of them! I currently take my three (3) large German Shepherds to Doc and have done so since they were babies. This man is wonderful! St. Francis would truly be proud!!!!!!

We have known Dr. Connell for over 30 years, Beginning on a cold snowy night when he did colic surgery on our horse and saved him in the equine surgical facility he built in his clinic. Since then he has seen us through several animals, always the brilliant diagnostician, providing effective treatments, and performing safe and successful surgeries. He is also wonderful with his furry clients’ people/owners, explaining situations in detail, helping us make difficult decisions, and supporting us emotionally. Can't say enough good things about Town & Country. We've struggled with a health issue with one of our dogs for years and changed vets 4 times when nobody could figure it out. Town & Country diagnosed the problem and has been treating it. Our dog is finally seeming like her old self again and being playful. I love this place he has been seeing my pets for years. After I got married and moved to the other side of the state I found a local vet for the "normal" visits and bring them out to do teeth cleaning and anything serious because he is wonderful, the whole staff is. He often makes a farm visit when I have problems getting in. When I do have appointments, I seldom have to wait unless it is for a walk in emergency, which I don't mind waiting for.
