Berrien Veterinary Services

Baroda, Michigan
General Info
Berrien Veterinary Services, a well-respected practice in the local pet community, is renowned for its meticulous and compassionate approach to animal care. Berrien Veterinary Services in Baroda builds every session around the animal’s energetic flow. The clinic goes into stasis when motion slows. The strategic blueprint shifts every time bodily alignment changes. A rhythm-based care setup reverberates throughout Michigan. Every exam starts with calibration: how the pet comes in, how quickly it orients to the room, and if the gaze settles or flicks. Care arises from the behavior patterns that mimic one another or repeat themselves. The kitty coils as the personnel steps back. A dog begins to lean as it proceeds in a soft way. Touching is always delayed until I see the signs of readiness. Interaction contrast was defined by the sequences “after sound silence, after dimness light, after closeness space.” Berrien Veterinary Services offers medical assistance in the areas of dermatology, nutrition improvement, joint care, disease detection, and pain relief. Instead of forcing sequence they utilize decision trees that pause diagnostics whenever alertness spikes. As serenity deepens, so do their deeds. Thanks to this logic, the historically anxious animal is able to complete its examination without spiraling. Discharge protocols are adjusted to fit the situational context, and they incorporate cues on when to close the distance and how to use daily rhythms (meals, walks) to return to stable regulation. Parents also receive information on how to handle emotions at home, together with the after-hospital care guidelines. Thanks to these small changes, the home stops being just an extension of the clinic. Berrien Veterinary Services offers a home-based veterinary approach to Baroda, MI residents where it ensures communication precedes action, reflection before practice and tailored response before prescription. The practice provides various services such as Orthopedic Surgery, Senior Pet Care, Hospice and Palliative Care, Boarding, and Ophthalmology. These treatments support pets at every life stage. Pet owners especially value and respect the team’s expertise, caring communication style, and the clinic’s ability to explain medical decisions. Whether you need support with senior pet care or address any emergency health issues, they aim to form long-lasting professional relationships. The clinic also assists in educating the owners and implementing preventive health programs. Berrien Veterinary Services’s community engagement fosters the responsible pet ownership culture. Both new and returning clients frequently emphasize how the establishment has grown with modern practice standards.

I wouldn't even give them one star if it wouldn't let me leave a review. Dr Johnson is incompetent I took my dog to him and explained he got hit by a full size Truck. He kept him for 3 days and sent him home. Two days later we were back and he finally decided to take blood test to find out my dog had kidney and bladder damage. Needless to say my dog suffered for 5 days because he never did a blood test. Weather here could have been saved or not at least I would have had the option to put him out of his misery. Dr.. Johnson, the other vets and support staff are wonderful. My 14 year old Collie is still enjoying her life, but would have been gone a year ago if not for Berrien Vets. She had become incontinent and had to be cleaned up every morning. Not easy for her skin, my floors and my 70 year old knees. I was referred to Dr. Johnson by Paws and Claws Kennels in Berrien Springs. After running tests to make certain this was not a urinary track infection, Dr. Johnson prescribed Incurin, a drug designed to control incontinence in spayed dogs. We have been problem free for over a year. He has also started her on a mild pain pill to help her get around better. Over-the- counter joint relief pills did not to allow her much mobility. I never saw a difference. After a few weeks Callie is much more active again. We had been using a vet in Chicago where we spend about half of our time. He is well known as a Collie specialist. He would not prescribe Incurin, nor had he ever suggested anything for her pain. "She's just old." Callie is now under the exclusive care of Berrien Vets and still a member f our family. Read Less

Went multiple times when my dog was reaching end of life and Danette Kiessel was fantastic. She gave realistic expectations and offered various treatments, but never pushed anything or tried to run pointless tests. More recently, I took a litter of kittens I rescued from raccoons and saw Mark Johnson. He was very laid back and friendly, and answered my questions. He took a couple follow-up calls from me when I thought one of the kittens was having problems and never acted like I was inconveniencing him, even though my concerns wound up being unwarranted. Just an all around nice guy who provided excellent care and advice. I will gladly continue to patronize this practice and advise friends to do the same! I called around several practices in the Niles/Berrien area doing price checks and Berrien Veterinary Services was definitely the most competitive!Read Less

I can relate to the post below as we faced almost the identical situation. Our dog Maggie just had run out of quality of life with pain from arthritis and had gone blind last fall and became disoriented frequently so no longer could enjoy being outside, therefore spent most of her days just laying. We made the decision to end her suffering and I called my vet and asked that he come out to our home to give her the injection. His reply was that they no longer would do that (short of vets) and I was just at a loss as to what to do. Her size and blindness made it very difficult to take her to the vet's office not to mention the ride home :( with her and I didn't want her to go through that as her final hours. I called several veterinarians and no one would come out...until I called Berrien Vet. They answered the phone after a couple rings (didn't put me on hold like what I'd always experienced) and right away said Dr. Johnson could come out that afternoon. We spent the afternoon with Maggie sitting in the grass in our backyard where she had spent the last few years of her life and when Dr. Johnson arrived he was very compassionate, quiet, understanding and professional. He was a Godsend. After she was gone, he just picked up his things and left without talking about paying for it right there and then...and we weren't even patients of his! Our dog Boo is now his patient and we wouldn't take her anywhere else.Read Less

I will never go back and as a matter of fact I'm also talking to my lawyer. Please if you love your animals don't take them there. Read Less

I had to euthanize my little buddy after 16 years of loyal companionship and the people at Berrien Veterinary Services were extremely kind and understanding. They made a really rough day a little easier for my family and I thank them. I have recommended their services for years but the amount of compassion I experienced today was above and beyond. Read Less

I absolutely love this vet. I have been there multiple times all on emergency visits for my cats who had somehow gotten cuts on their legs. The first time it was a minor cut and she was fine. Just this week her brother had a severe cut requiring stitches. They were so good to him and are very fair with prices. If you have to go to a vet please visit them! If I could give them a higher rating I would.
