Peanutter our dog with Congestive Heart Failure loves this place and the workers!! The reception ladies are so amazing and always so helpful and have even called my cell before to check and see how Peanutter is feeling or doing on his new heart meds. They also always try to find the best price for his meds and are very knowledgeable. Dr. Kate is one in a million, less concerned with the financial aspect of the business and more concerned with the wellness and happiness of our fur babies. I would give them one billion stars, but I only get the option to give them 5. I can't say enough good things about them. I’ve now witnessed a dog dying from kidney failure with levels that were off the charts... all while Pennfield Vet did his blood work for years and years and never caught it or mentioned it. They even faxed his previous blood work to the vet who DID catch it and the levels were awful the last 2 times they drew this dog’s blood. Shame on this clinic and their awful practices!! I will ALWAYS tell people to avoid this clinic at all costs. Back in the 70's a friend and I hit a wild bunny on keys rd in Bellevue. We didn't know what to do so I ask her if she could call her mom and have her call a vet for us. So I took my coat off finally found the bunny that had 1/2 it's hair missing and shacking so bad. We both cried till we made it to my house. She called her mom and was able to get her mom to find a vet that would come in and see to 16 year olds and a wild rabbit. And that vet was Pennfield animal hospital. I ...could go on and on how wonderful you folks are. I just wish you did large animals. As for the little bunny. The doc said looks like this little guy needs to spend the night here so we can try to fix him up. We thanked him and went home. Contacted Pennfield Animal hospital for details and history on a greyhound rescue dog my wife and I acquired. We had learned that the previous owner had used Pennfield Animal Hospital before with the greyhound. They were not helpful at all and wanted the previous owner to contact them or provide a note to release this so called priveledged information to us. We only wanted to know the dogs age and what shots or medications the dog had been on. We were and still are the dogs forever home and this was rediculous and very unhelpful. It could also have put the dog at risk, not knowing about shots or medication, if any, the dog had in the past or needed in the future. The previous owner had a massive stroke and was in a coma. The dog was being left out in the cold of winter, by the care giver and was nearly dead, when I took over care of the greyhound. The previous owner did not survive and there was no way to have them contact Pennfield Animal Hospital. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend this veterinarian location and I will never take one of my four rescue dogs there in the future. Read Less

We took our dog Peanutter yesterday and it was our first time in the place and the staff was so loving and kind to Peanutter!! :-) :-) I would recomend them to anyone, and even if you don't live right in Pennfield, if you want the best possible care for your four legged child, its worth the drive they also got us in early the very next day!!! I like the quiet atmosphere. We rarely see other dogs and then only briefly. Our dogs are much less frightened there than the other vet we used to use. We have no preference about which vet to see as they are all equally good and very kind. Read Less

I can't say enough good things about Pennfield Animal Hospital and Dr Kate. When routine blood work for my dog showed abnormalities, they took it very seriously and worked tirelessly to come to the proper diagnosis, all while putting up with me and my worrying ;) Thanks to their efforts, what could have been a serious long term issue for my dog is now being properly managed, and she's back to normal. Dr. Mager has been my Veterinarian for roughly 10 years and I've never been so satisfied with any type of Dr as I have been with her. She takes care of my baby and has helped him get back on his feet many times, I'm very grateful for her and the staff at PAH.Read Less

Dr Magers is awesome! She was very patient with my special needs dog that was very skiddish but she always took her time with her and got down to her level as opposed to standing over her. We had to make thevery difficult decision to have her put to sleep and Dr Magers was very caring and compassionate as was everybody else at the office. I am forever grateful for this office! Not a great experience took my dog there for an ear infection they sent me home with some ear drops they worked for a moment but the problem came right back and now I have to take him to another vet because they said there sorry there's nthn they can do unless I pay the full price again...... We were in a desperate situation with our 1 year old puppy and were turned down by our long term vet (at least 10+ years) due to "lack of staff" and not having enough money to cover the visit. This office not only took our dog in not knowing of us at all, but saved his life. What the other vets office called a "tummy upset" and suggested Imodium, was actually a foreign object lodged between his stomach and the beginning of his intestine. Had Pennfield not taken him in and performed emergency surgery on him to remove the 18 inches of necrotic (dead) intestine, he would not have made it through the night. He had already begun the process of dying and smelled of death when we brought him in. Today, 2.5 months after his surgery, Apollo has a new lease on life and is even more active than before! They even let us make payments on the balance to get this done for him. I am transferring all of my dogs to this vet and would recommend that everyone do the same. When your children are furry, you expect them to be taken care of as if they were your human kids. This office will do that and more. Read Less

My wife and I don't live in the area but when we made the difficult decision to put our dog down, we decided we wanted him buried at my in-laws property in Bedford. We decided to have it done at a local vet and I'm glad we did. The staff and doctor could not have been kinder, or more sympathetic. Today we had our first visit with our new puppy. We were greeted by a friendly, courteous and knowledgeable receptionist. The waiting area was clean, open spaced, kid friendly, and had a nice aquarium to look at. The vet we saw took her time with us, and answered all of our questions. She was gentle and thorough. Great service and a very cleanly environment. I've never taken my cat there before and they closed in one hour on a Saturday. My cat was sick so I called expecting I probably wouldn't get in and would have to take him to the emergency animal hospital, but they fit me in no problem! The staff was very friendly all the way from the receptionist to the doctor. Truly a great experience. Good customer service goes a LONG way in my book especially in urgent situations. I'll be coming back here from now on. In fact, the vet where my wife has dropped lots of money and has been taking our dog to for a long time refused to take him in. I rescued my Charlie from people who did not care for him and he was really sick when I got him. I called Pennfield hospital the next day(they came highly recommended by my daughter) and they got Charlie in right away. I've taken all of my pets here since 2010! I love the staff and friendly atmosphere. The doctors are very knowledgable and extremely caring. It's nice to know that you have someone who cares about the well being of your pet as much as you do. Especially in times of need. I've never had a fear of leaving my pets for the day to be fixed and I've never had any complications afterwords. Any concerns I've had they are always quick to resolve. The pets plans are helpful too. I've had my share of familial difficulties and the pet plans for kittens or puppies are wonderful! The easy and affordable monthly payments for a year with the knowledge that your pet is well taken care of is a wonderful thing. I would recommend them a hundred times over!
