The vet and techs here were so very kind and accommodating to us. We had an emergency with one our cats, our normal vet was in surgery so we had to find another vet with no notice. They made room in their morning to make an appointment and they truly went out of their way to keep me and our sick kitty comfortable while we waited for test results. The doctor was kind, gentle, and thorough. I would not hesitate one second to take any of my animals here and know they would get excellent love and care. Read Less

I'm very mixed on this company. I have taken my pets here for over a decade. While the vets were always superb, the front reception desk staff are less than pleasing. On several visits they seem irritated that you are there taking up time asking questions.On my last visit, my dog had an emergency visit to the vet for her eye. She had scratched the cornea badly, which the vet was very helpful and proscribed pain medicine and an eye drop to help speed the healing. He said he would like to see my dog back in a week. When I went to pay and make a follow up appointment, the receptionist seemed confused and said the dog didn't need a follow up. Then told me either way the vet would not be back in a week due to being a temp while the regular vets were on vacation. We have since realized our main vet we prefer moved down the street and opened a new clinic. While still liking the actual vets here, we will be switching all our pets due to the reception staff. Belleville Animal Hospital is the best place to take your animals. My family has been going to this vet for a number of years for our cats and dog. They all go above and beyond to care for your animals and they remember them by name. Recently, our older cat became very ill and the doctors tried their best to bring her back to good health. Unfortunately, my family had to make the difficult decision to put our cat down. The staff and doctors (especially Yvonne, Judy, Dr. Baca, and Dr. Dobson) were so very supportive and enabled us to spend the last few moments with our cat. They all treated us as a part of their family and helped us through the grieving process. They provided us with a remembrance paw print and even mailed us condolence cards to our home. This hospital, since becoming Banfield is horrible. I took my dog there because her paw was bleeding and we could not tell if it was her claw, or pad. I made a makeshift wrap with Neosporin until we could get her in later that day. The vet came in, didn't introduce herself, and took her to the back. A while later they brought my dog back with a hard plastic bootie over her paw so she could barely walk and since they trimmed her nails while back there, they also brought her back bleeding! They cut one of her nails so short that they had to get a powder to stop it. The vet never came back to talk to me about why we were there in the first place or what they found. The tech finally came back and said it was a nail that had ripped off and so they wrapped it. They never even seemed concerned that they hurt my dog simply by trimming her nails either! The only after care instruction given to me was that the bootie may get moisture on the inside (since it was hard plastic) and if it did, we would have to take it off to save the wrap. No antibiotics or anything. Was just told to put Neosporin on it if it looked agitated. Needless to say after the bill, they charged 15 alone for a plastic bootie, we got home and the bootie came right off. My makeshift one was better than what they gave us. She was also limping because of how short they clipped her nail and hurt her . Absolutely ridiculous service! I have followed Dr. Dascher, and Dr. Driscoll to their new practice next door and just had an appointment. Once again they were amazing and my dogs didn't leave hurt! I truly adore Dr. Dasher. She absolutely loves my cats. I have a big, rather intimidating rescue dog and she is very quiet and gentle with him. He's usually very skittish but he likes her. The office staff always makes a point to come check out which of my 3 pets I've brought in, so they can pet them and tell them how cute they are. My sister brings her pets there now too, and they're as happy with BVA as I am. I don't know why other customers had issues. Owning a pet is expensive. They need healthcare just like a human, you wouldn't let a human go 4 years with a mouthful of rotting teeth. Read Less

The doctors are great. Staff is wonderful . Crystal the tech was very nice . She went above and beyond, she also gave us wonderful tips on behavior issues we where having with our two dogs. we are very grateful for the care they gave our pets. I originally chose to go to Belleville Animal Hospital because six of my co-workers go there. That's a fine enough review right there. I quickly found out why they all go there and keep going back. I can't say enough about the Belleville Animal Hospital and the wonderful care they provided to my cats. One of which came to them very sick with cancer, and we lost him. However, Dr. Driscol did everything he could. He was quick to recognize a problem and get it looked into before it got any worse. He had nothing but love for my dying baby and I couldn't have asked for more. The front desk staff was very caring and made us feel welcome every time we walked in the door. They knew us and our cat by name and always made sure we knew what we were paying for. If we had any questions, they were quick to get the doctor or a tech for us to talk to. The techs are amazing as well. We have 5 of them surround us when we came to visit our kitty in the hospital after a surgery. They all were there to support us and told us what an amazing cat we have. I have never felt such compassion from all staff and professionals at any veterinary office before. Read Less

My five and a half pound Yorkshire Terrier is four years old and just had 17 teeth removed. He has been seen at this facility since he was five weeks old. Dr. Dasher says this is my fault because she has told me his teeth need to be cleaned every year. It is my opinion that, as a responsible veterinarian, she should have been more closely monitoring the situation and warned me how very important this was becoming. It is traumatic to put a dog under anesthesia, and I, of course, did not want to traumatize my dog unless it was absolutely necessary. Another issue was the cost, just under $500. I am a retired, widowed female on a fixed income. I cannot afford $500 each and every year for teeth cleaning, and Dr. Dasher was very aware of that. So, I sent a letter to the person I thought was the owner of the clinic about my experience. Today, I get a phone call from Dr. Dasher telling me how upset SHE is about my letter and telling me how this is all my fault for not getting his teeth cleaned every year as she advised, and that my problem is that I feel guilty, as I should. I do, and I take full responsibility for not seeing this sooner. She refuses to accept any responsibility for not pointing out how bad things were getting. I called ahead of time to ask about pricing on nail trimming for cats and was delighted to learn that they also put on soft paws (plastic nail covers) if you provide them. The normal price for a nail trim is $17.23, so I asked what the price would be for them to put on the soft paws for me and they said it would be $20.23 all together. After a long wait in waiting room they quickly trimmed her nails and put on the soft paws. I was obviously shocked when they swiped my card for $55!! They charged $17.23 for the trim and $17.23 for the soft paws (THAT I BOUGHT AND PROVIDED) AND a $20 something "vet technician fee".And the only answer I got was "Well all I can do is tell you the charges".Well, the only thing I can tell them is that they lost a client.I'll stick with the Humane Society that charges $15 for a trim and no extra fees. Finding a new vet when I moved to the Ypsi Twp. area was a real challenge. I must have tried three or more before we found Belleville Animal Hospital. Their staff is personable and very caring. We got lucky the first time and saw Dr. Dasher, she is a soft spoken gem with a wonderful heart. She gives you options for treatment and supports you in the decision you make. One year ago I was sure we were losing our 'old girl' due to her congestive heart failure. I have taken my dog to BAH for the past 21/2 years and my experience have always been professional and caring. Several years ago, while traveing I got a call from the place where my dog was boarding that she was ill. They told me, all teh things that they felted needed to be done immediately and the cost. Frightened and unprepared for this I immediately called BAH, and they were able to recommend alternatives and cost reducing measures.
