They gave me a prescription for my dog based on wrong weight and age. My dog is 5yrs old and weights 48lb and they wrote that he’s 7 and weights 43lb.
My dog had a bad allergy in his eyes so they prescribed steroids and wanted to do blood work before giving the steroids to him. At the checkout they told me that I would receive the results in 2/3 days...I said no because the blood work was recommended by the doctor to make sure that my dog would be ok with the prescription. They said ok we’ll call you in 50 minutes. I waited two hours with my poor dog suffering and I called them and the doctor still hadn’t look to the results and the receptionist told me to give the steroids to my dog anyway. I refused and told her that they stated that blood work was necessary to make sure he would be able to resist this medicine. Not acceptable!! They risked my dog’s life
Finally I had to wait and call again until I received confirmation from the vet. Was the blood work necessary or just a way to take more money? Who knows. I will NEVER go back.

I moved out of the area and had to go through 4 different vets before moving back and returning here to Berkley. Finally have a solid answer and a treatment plan!

What a terrific experience we had from your clinic yesterday. One of our cats had to get her behind cleaned and shaved. We visited your clinic for the first time. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and professional. Dr. Andrea Smirnes and Lisa took amazing care of our cat. Her attitude has completely transformed. Before, she was so scared of us. Today, she's more affectionate than ever. We just adopted her around 3 months or so ago. Perhaps something was bothering h...er all that time, that was taken care of yesterday. I'd also like to make a thank you shout out to Christine, who came with Dr. Andrea Smirnes to our home a couple days earlier and took care of both our cats' nails and well-being. Berkley Animal Clinic is truly one of a kind. From the moment we first stepped foot in the office with our 8 week old puppy, we felt like family. Everyone is so kind and so helpful. There should be more people like Dr. Lindsay Pick in the world. Dr. Pick has gone above and beyond our expectations and has always done whatever she could to ensure our puppy was taken care of and we were informed at all times. This clinic is so great. Everyone is very friendly and willing to take the time to answer questions. I also love that they have a low stress waiting room so my cranky cat has a place that he can feel safe while waiting for a room. Normally wait times are low and we get right into a room but if there is a wait the receptionists always let me know before hand about the wait and why. They are so open and honest and I wouldn't trust another vet with my pets due to very negative experiences at previous vets. This is THE vet to go to for the Metro-Detroit area.

Everything from the initial call super last minute to get my cat in, to the actual visit was an amazing experience. They were beyond words friendly and open to really setting aside some time to fully explain everything that was going on with our furry little friend. I could tell the cat was super comfortable and receptive to the wonderful staff, which made the experience that much better. I would recommend this clinic to anyone in the Metro-Detroit area! I personally live downtown and found this to be such an amazing and worthwhile trip to Berkley for the visit. Couldn’t be more thankful to the warm staff for our visit today!

I have been bringing my fuzzballs here for the past 7 years. They have treated my 4 cats and 2 dogs like family. The most telling tale is of my pitbull who is super anxious at the vet. He had to have an operation and I was so worried about how he would handle being there on his own for so long. The staff had me come in first thing in the morning and had a room set up for him with fluffy beds and blankets with the lights dimmed down low. He was treated like royalty. They had me stay with him for roughly 30 minutes while they just hung out with him and made sure he was comfy and calm before they even talked about starting pre surgery prep. As they gave him his IV meds, they had me stay and hold his paw. I stayed in the room with him up until they were ready to take him back for surgery. They called me the second he was done and then again when we was awake and ready to go home. They went way above and beyond to make sure he was taken care of. After this experience, I won't take my pets anywhere else. They are the best and truly care about their fuzzy patients.

I was here for the first time a few weeks ago for a routine exam for my middle aged cat. She was being an absolute terror at the office, hissing and trying to bite. Both Dr. Friedman and her technician were amazing, managed to get her full exam done including vaccines and drawing blood while remaining calm and keeping my cat (relatively) calm. I'll certainly be back here for annual exams. (as long as they'll take us) :)

I took my two cats there today because one of them (Mack) has been losing weight and acting unusual. I cannot say enough about how wonderful everyone was. I don't know which vet i met with (it was a Man). Anyway, he told me that Mack has leukemia and unfortunaley only has a short time left. My cats are my children. He was wonderful. He was honest and frank with me and let me cry. He was so wonderufl and kind and caring. He said he almost cried himself. I felt so much empathy and caring, like they had know me and my animals for years instead of minutes. He was there when a nurse taught me how to give my cat fluids with an iv and answered all of my questions. He told me to call if i needed to talk. I will absolutely recommend them. Even though i'm devestated by the diagnosis, I felt so loved and cared for, like i was the only person there. They didn't rush me or make me feel foolish. They took so much time to make sure that i had every answer and knew all my options. They didn't try to bilk me for expensive treatments that might give me just tiny bits more of time. Their prices were fair and totally reasonable. I honestly just cannot say enough good things about this vet. Today was the worst day of my life and they didn't sugarcoat it but they also did everything they could to make it less terrible. One of the nurses even carrried my huge cat carrier, with both cats in it, out to my truck for me. I will use them for everything in the future and i highly reccommend that everyone else does too. I am so thankful and grateful that i went there. They are a blessing.

Berkley Animal Clinic has been amazing for our very anxious 10-year old Boxer-Mix Sega We went in a few weeks ago for updated vaccinations, and we mentioned that Sega had a small lump on her leg. After getting it checked out, Dr. Bismack recommended removing it to be safe. Sega has severe separation anxiety, so we were very nervous about the whole experience. Her surgery was yesterday though, and things could not have gone smoother. We arrived to drop Sega off, and (like always) they let us bring her in through the back and right in to a room to avoid getting her anxious in the front waiting room. It was very hard to leave her, but the staff was so reassuring and comforting (especially Collene, who has been amazing through this whole experience). We're still in recovery and have several more appointments over the next couple weeks, but Sega is doing so well and I can't say enough good things about the care we received from Berkley Animal Clinic.

This is the best vet that we have ever been to! The staff took care of our first Golden, Huckleberry, (very compassionately putting him down when he was 13 and could barely stand), our other Golden, Cash, (very energetic), and most recently Lola, our Guinea pig. We had never taken a small animal into a vet before and the staff on the phone told me what the issue most likely was and that there was a staff member who specialized in small animals that day and they would get me in (they did and we only waited about 15 to be seen). Lola needed a procedure (it was pretty gross!) and medicine to take home. We received a call 2 days later checking on her progress! The staff is always very friendly and we are 100% satisfied with the care our animals have received there.

I took our rabbit for a wellness check and saw Dr. Golombek. The staff was very nice, and helpful. They got us right into an exam room so that our little bunny ( 2 pounds 3 ounces) age 4 would not be stressed by dogs coming in. They did everything they could to make sure he was calm and not stressed during his exam. Dr. Golombek took the time to talk to us about his diet and working with the vet tech that was in the room so that he received great care. I would highly recommend Dr. Golombek for rabbit and exotic care. She is very experienced and caring with the animals. Definitely will go back again. I have been giving out cards recommending her to people I know have dogs, cats or exotics.

My boyfriend and I took our cat, Sherman, to Berkley Animal Clinic after having a very disappointing experience with another vet nearby. All of the vet techs and support staff at Berkley were so incredibly kind and accommodating. Dr. Pick was so thorough, helpful, and kind. They are very affordable, but also incredibly helpful as far as helping clients prepare for situations that might not be so easy on the wallet. It is such a relief to finally find a veterinarian clinic that genuinely cares about our pets and isn't just in it for the money. I will recommend Berkley Animal Clinic to anyone who asks and we will definitely continue to bring our pets to them.

We have rabbits, which makes finding a vet more difficult. A specialist recommend this clinic. It was terrible. The staff was more interested in talking to each other and greeting/playing with regular clients than checking us in/out.
You can hear other animals crying from the lobby. They have a cat wandering freely through the clinic, and think it's acceptable to leave exam room doors open (rabbit could run, cat could come in).
They were rough with my elderly rabbit, ignored my requests to hold her for procedures, and told me to "sit down" when I challenged the vets' ability to draw blood (she clearly did NOT know what she was doing, and basically treated my rabbit like a sack of meat).
Rabbits are delicate and can be injured easily. The vet treated her like a thing/problem, not a patient/person. Despicable. They should NOT be allowed to treat "exotic" pets as they clearly lack experience and compassion.

We recently switched veterinary care over to Berkley Animal Clinic. I've always heard good feedback, so I was confident in their care. One of my dogs has Cushing's Disease, so I really wanted to find excellent and consistent care for her. This disease involves a lot of care and testing. Our previous clinic had a high turnover. We do not want to continue to pay double for a specialist that wasn't great to begin with. We started seeing Dr. Friedman and she is wonderful! She is very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and available as often as she can be for questions. The staff at BAC is also wonderful and clearly love what they do. Their fees are also very reasonable. I was worried about cost since we have 2 dogs and it's always something! BAC is totally affordable. I'm so glad we made the switch!

They gave me a prescription for my dog based on wrong weight and age. My dog is 5yrs old and weights 48lb and they wrote that he’s 7 and weights 43lb.
My dog had a bad allergy in his eyes so they prescribed steroids and wanted to do blood work before giving the steroids to him. At the checkout they told me that I would receive the results in 2/3 days...I said no because the blood work was recommended by the doctor to make sure that my dog would be ok with the prescription. They said ok we’ll call you in 50 minutes. I waited two hours with my poor dog suffering and I called them and the doctor still hadn’t look to the results and the receptionist told me to give the steroids to my dog anyway. I refused and told her that they stated that blood work was necessary to make sure he would be able to resist this medicine. Not acceptable!! They risked my dog’s life
Finally I had to wait and call again until I received confirmation from the vet. Was the blood work necessary or just a way to take more money? Who knows. I will NEVER go back.

I moved out of the area and had to go through 4 different vets before moving back and returning here to Berkley. Finally have a solid answer and a treatment plan!

What a terrific experience we had from your clinic yesterday. One of our cats had to get her behind cleaned and shaved. We visited your clinic for the first time. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and professional. Dr. Andrea Smirnes and Lisa took amazing care of our cat. Her attitude has completely transformed. Before, she was so scared of us. Today, she's more affectionate than ever. We just adopted her around 3 months or so ago. Perhaps something was bothering h...er all that time, that was taken care of yesterday. I'd also like to make a thank you shout out to Christine, who came with Dr. Andrea Smirnes to our home a couple days earlier and took care of both our cats' nails and well-being. There should be more people like Dr. Lindsay Pick in the world. This clinic is so great. Everyone is very friendly and willing to take the time to answer questions. I also love that they have a low stress waiting room so my cranky cat has a place that he can feel safe while waiting for a room. Normally wait times are low and we get right into a room but if there is a wait the receptionists always let me know before hand about the wait and why. They are so open and honest and I wouldn't trust another vet with my pets due to very negative experiences at previous vets. This is THE vet to go to for the Metro-Detroit area.

Everything from the initial call super last minute to get my cat in, to the actual visit was an amazing experience. They were beyond words friendly and open to really setting aside some time to fully explain everything that was going on with our furry little friend. I could tell the cat was super comfortable and receptive to the wonderful staff, which made the experience that much better. I would recommend this clinic to anyone in the Metro-Detroit area! I personally live downtown and found this to be such an amazing and worthwhile trip to Berkley for the visit. Couldn’t be more thankful to the warm staff for our visit today!

I have been bringing my fuzzballs here for the past 7 years. They have treated my 4 cats and 2 dogs like family. The most telling tale is of my pitbull who is super anxious at the vet. He had to have an operation and I was so worried about how he would handle being there on his own for so long. The staff had me come in first thing in the morning and had a room set up for him with fluffy beds and blankets with the lights dimmed down low. He was treated like royalty. They had me stay with him for roughly 30 minutes while they just hung out with him and made sure he was comfy and calm before they even talked about starting pre surgery prep. As they gave him his IV meds, they had me stay and hold his paw. I stayed in the room with him up until they were ready to take him back for surgery. They called me the second he was done and then again when we was awake and ready to go home. They went way above and beyond to make sure he was taken care of. After this experience, I won't take my pets anywhere else. They are the best and truly care about their fuzzy patients.

I was here for the first time a few weeks ago for a routine exam for my middle aged cat. She was being an absolute terror at the office, hissing and trying to bite. Both Dr. Friedman and her technician were amazing, managed to get her full exam done including vaccines and drawing blood while remaining calm and keeping my cat (relatively) calm. I'll certainly be back here for annual exams. (as long as they'll take us) :)

I took my two cats there today because one of them (Mack) has been losing weight and acting unusual. I cannot say enough about how wonderful everyone was. I don't know which vet i met with (it was a Man). Anyway, he told me that Mack has leukemia and unfortunaley only has a short time left. My cats are my children. He was wonderful. He was honest and frank with me and let me cry. He was so wonderufl and kind and caring. He said he almost cried himself. I felt so much empathy and caring, like they had know me and my animals for years instead of minutes. He was there when a nurse taught me how to give my cat fluids with an iv and answered all of my questions. He told me to call if i needed to talk. I will absolutely recommend them. Even though i'm devestated by the diagnosis, I felt so loved and cared for, like i was the only person there. They didn't rush me or make me feel foolish. They took so much time to make sure that i had every answer and knew all my options. They didn't try to bilk me for expensive treatments that might give me just tiny bits more of time. Their prices were fair and totally reasonable. I honestly just cannot say enough good things about this vet. Today was the worst day of my life and they didn't sugarcoat it but they also did everything they could to make it less terrible. One of the nurses even carrried my huge cat carrier, with both cats in it, out to my truck for me. I will use them for everything in the future and i highly reccommend that everyone else does too. I am so thankful and grateful that i went there. They are a blessing.

Berkley Animal Clinic has been amazing for our very anxious 10-year old Boxer-Mix Sega We went in a few weeks ago for updated vaccinations, and we mentioned that Sega had a small lump on her leg. After getting it checked out, Dr. Bismack recommended removing it to be safe. Sega has severe separation anxiety, so we were very nervous about the whole experience. Her surgery was yesterday though, and things could not have gone smoother. We arrived to drop Sega off, and (like always) they let us bring her in through the back and right in to a room to avoid getting her anxious in the front waiting room. It was very hard to leave her, but the staff was so reassuring and comforting (especially Collene, who has been amazing through this whole experience). We're still in recovery and have several more appointments over the next couple weeks, but Sega is doing so well and I can't say enough good things about the care we received from Berkley Animal Clinic.

This is the best vet that we have ever been to! The staff took care of our first Golden, Huckleberry, (very compassionately putting him down when he was 13 and could barely stand), our other Golden, Cash, (very energetic), and most recently Lola, our Guinea pig. We had never taken a small animal into a vet before and the staff on the phone told me what the issue most likely was and that there was a staff member who specialized in small animals that day and they would get me in (they did and we only waited about 15 to be seen). Lola needed a procedure (it was pretty gross!) and medicine to take home. We received a call 2 days later checking on her progress! The staff is always very friendly and we are 100% satisfied with the care our animals have received there.

I took our rabbit for a wellness check and saw Dr. Golombek. The staff was very nice, and helpful. They got us right into an exam room so that our little bunny ( 2 pounds 3 ounces) age 4 would not be stressed by dogs coming in. They did everything they could to make sure he was calm and not stressed during his exam. Dr. Golombek took the time to talk to us about his diet and working with the vet tech that was in the room so that he received great care. I would highly recommend Dr. Golombek for rabbit and exotic care. She is very experienced and caring with the animals. Definitely will go back again. I have been giving out cards recommending her to people I know have dogs, cats or exotics.

My boyfriend and I took our cat, Sherman, to Berkley Animal Clinic after having a very disappointing experience with another vet nearby. All of the vet techs and support staff at Berkley were so incredibly kind and accommodating. Dr. Pick was so thorough, helpful, and kind. They are very affordable, but also incredibly helpful as far as helping clients prepare for situations that might not be so easy on the wallet. It is such a relief to finally find a veterinarian clinic that genuinely cares about our pets and isn't just in it for the money. I will recommend Berkley Animal Clinic to anyone who asks and we will definitely continue to bring our pets to them.

We have rabbits, which makes finding a vet more difficult. A specialist recommend this clinic. It was terrible. The staff was more interested in talking to each other and greeting/playing with regular clients than checking us in/out.
You can hear other animals crying from the lobby. They have a cat wandering freely through the clinic, and think it's acceptable to leave exam room doors open (rabbit could run, cat could come in).
They were rough with my elderly rabbit, ignored my requests to hold her for procedures, and told me to "sit down" when I challenged the vets' ability to draw blood (she clearly did NOT know what she was doing, and basically treated my rabbit like a sack of meat).
Rabbits are delicate and can be injured easily. The vet treated her like a thing/problem, not a patient/person. Despicable. They should NOT be allowed to treat "exotic" pets as they clearly lack experience and compassion.

We recently switched veterinary care over to Berkley Animal Clinic. I've always heard good feedback, so I was confident in their care. One of my dogs has Cushing's Disease, so I really wanted to find excellent and consistent care for her. This disease involves a lot of care and testing. Our previous clinic had a high turnover. We do not want to continue to pay double for a specialist that wasn't great to begin with. We started seeing Dr. Friedman and she is wonderful! She is very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and available as often as she can be for questions. The staff at BAC is also wonderful and clearly love what they do. Their fees are also very reasonable. I was worried about cost since we have 2 dogs and it's always something! BAC is totally affordable. I'm so glad we made the switch!
