Needed to pick up a medication that our normal vet happened to be out of. We had a script and proof of bloodwork. The receptionist was phenomenal and, truth be told, would have warranted a 5 star review had we only dealt with her. Unfortunately, she had to turn us over to the woman running the pharmacy. This woman was rude from the get go and very obviously does not enjoy her job. She kept telling us they were not a pharmacy. The wonderful receptionist overheard and apologized for how we were being treated. On top of that, the medication was overpriced by at least $15-20. Maybe it was a convenience fee? As great as the receptionist was, I doubt we'll be going back based on how we were treated by the lady in the pharmacy AND on how pricey the medication was. Read Less

This Vet helped me rescue the perfect cat to add to my two dog family, and they helped me improve the health of my second rescue. I feel like they give very accurate descriptions of the pets that need to be rescued. I love gasows. I get my pups their injections somewhere else only because its cheap and I have two dogs. If my pups need a vet, this place is awesome. I wouldn't go any where else. The staff and front desk girls are great. Don't let one person get you down. Read Less

Dr. Brooks and his staff helped me through one of the worst things anyone could have ever had ti do. I will miss Simon forever. The staff at Gasow's are the best, welcoming and reassuring, perfect! Dackel and I rushed in this evening literally minutes before closing. We saw Dr. Brooks straight off and he determined Dackel has a minor strain to his left front arm (ok, leg, he's a dog). I cannot thank Gasow and it's exemplary staff for the care they provide to Kingston and to me. Who but Dr. Fisher would sit on the floor and sing the Shema with him, who but Dr. Brooks would ask that I call on Saturday to provide a progress report on Kingston? The staff at the front desk are angels. They actually kiss my baby. Once when Kingston needed medicine by syringe which I was not able to do I took him twice a day where the service was performed without charge. We are fortunate to have Gasow so close to home. I have taken all our pets to Gasow for 30 years, not only for medical treatment, but grooming services as well. Gasow's medical practice has gone downhill with every passing year and after several mishaps with my dogs medical attention as well as a misdiagnosis that could have cost my dog her life, (but thank God it didn't) another Vet from an animal hospital NOT affiliated with Gasow's, diagnosed her correctly and gave her prompt attention and saved our dog's life! I would NEVER even take my pet gold fish to them. As for the groomer that I have taken all my pets to for the past 25 years, was the absolute BEST! Recently she retired :( and after trying only their grooming services a few times after her departure, my dogs last visit to them was a disaster... My dog came out traumatized and looking as if she was stoned..not to mention getting the WORST haircut my dog has ever gotten! We have finally washed our hands of Gasow for good! My daughter took her sick dog in today that was throwing up and couldn't hold down water, they would not see her dog. The reason being that her sister had a balance on her account. We have nothing to do with that bill, we just live in the same house. That was heartless. Instead we went to Kimball Animal Hospital which has a 5 star rating. We won't be back to Gasow even after the bill gets gets paid. Horrible. We would have been glad to even pay a little bit on a balance that wasn't even ours just to make sure our dog was okay, but they wouldn't even do that. Read Less

As of recently after two nearly consecutive visits, I can say with certainty I will no longer be returning to this establishment. They have lost my business as well as my friends and family's, and there are multiple reasons for this. I have brought my dog here since he was a puppy, but it seems the conditions & behavior towards clients has become progressively worse. The receptionists are blatantly rude- I stood in front of the desk for several minutes without anyone so much as looking at me until one of them reluctantly stepped forward to help me; she was clearly agitated that her coworkers had neglected to do so. This was followed by a visit with a doctor that was cold & stern, she proceeded to tell me that my dog could potentially lose his vision completely with no emotion or sympathy, in fact she seemed to be rushed & answered any questions I had condescendingly. Furthermore, wait time is excessive. Unless you know a doctor or nurse by name & have some type of pre-established rapport, you can expect to be helped after those who arrive after you, & you will be waiting for no less than 45 minutes- & that's if you're lucky. A simple check up here can take upwards of 3 hours. I was also incorrectly charged and when I returned to address the issue I was spoken to in a volatile manner by a woman who openly scolded her coworkers in front of my self as well as several others of us standing in the lobby. The behavior towards the guests & pets alike is absolutely unacceptable, I do not pay hundreds of dollars to be disrespected & have my dog handled carelessly by staff that don't seem to want to be there let alone deal with anyone or their animals. With such outrageous treatment and poor service, I feel it's necessary to notify potential clients in order to hopefully prevent others from experiencing a similar agony. This vet is horrible. I will never be going back here for anything cause I've given them plenty of chances! The receptionists are slow, they take down information incorrectly and if you have too much that you need them to do they get irritated (this has happened to me twice now)! Nobody tells you what anything costs up front. So before you know it you've spent way more than you were wanting to get normal things done for your animal. It doesn't help that they are already over-priced. Save your money and your time and go to a different vet. There are way better ones out there. Read Less

My family and friends have been warning us to not keep taking our dogs to Gasow, we had to learn the hard way. As our five month old puppy was being prepped for to be neutered Dr Thompson called us telling us she thinks our dog will be crippled, this diagnosis without so much as an x-ray. In asking for another doctor to perform the surgery we were told no and to come and pick up our sedated dog. Our puppy cried, moaned, shook and could barely walk. These people are not professional, they are very cruel to treat a poor helpless puppy this way. These people do not deserve even a one star rating, but in order to post this review it was required. I gave 2 stars because the other Vets were very good. It is a mystery why this woman, Dr. Fisher, became a Vet. I brought my 17lb cat in because he had a sinus infection. When Dr Fisher came in, my cat sneezed and snot came out. She exclaimed ""Gross"" and rushed out of the room for a towel. She came off as very snobby, stuck up, and condescending. She was quite fixated on the fact he is overweight. She didn't seem to believe me that he has lost 7lbs and he was fat when I got him 10 years ago. I couldn't remember medication names and dates quickly enough for her and she delighted in speaking down to me. When she exclaimed fear at touching my cat, I simply had enough so I packed him up and left. I have had this cat for 10+ years and lived in 3 states with him. Never, ever have I met a Vet scared to touch him. Again, why did you become a Vet?? I came home and read the reviews here. I then called and asked the receptionist if it was Dr. Fisher that I had dealt with. She replied yes and that she was sorry for the experience I had. So, I told her how very sorry I felt for them having to work with her. That must be awful!! The receptionist replied, ""Absolutely!"" Even your staff dislikes you! I had been living out of Michigan for several years, and on the weekend I moved back, I picked up a rescue puppy on the way. The puppy was adorable, as most puppies are, but she seemed to be a little shy and uninterested in much. About 5 hours into our ride I noticed she wasn't doing so well. She was very lethargic and was feeling a little warm. We were about an hour outside of Detroit, so I grabbed my phone to call the vet I used prior to moving from Michigan to see if I could bring her in, but they were closed. It was a Sunday. I began searching online for a vet and found Gasow. I called and explained the situation to the girl who answered the phone, and was able to talk to Dr. Carter directly, who advised me of a few things to do while we were still on the road. We drove directly to Gasow, where Dr. Carter took the puppy back right away and begain to give her a check up. She constantly updated us on what she was doing with the pup and explained step in detail so we understood what was going on. THe pup was very sick and we were lucky to have gotten the advice from her that we did on our way into town. She was the most amazing and professional vet I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We take all of our animals to see her and they receive the best care possible. I would recommend Dr. Carter to anyone who is looking for a quality vet. You won't be let down! Read Less
