I would highly advise against going to DePorre. Pierre DePorre killed my healthy 13 year old cat. I took my sweet Baxter in for a teeth cleaning, and DePorre pulled a tooth. He was given an antibiotic called Convenia. By the next day, Baxter still had not seemed to have recovered from the anesthesia, so I started investigating on the web. Do yourself and your pet a favor and Google it. It stays in the body for more than 100 days, so if your pet has a reaction, good-bye. I watched him die for 17 days. This drug should not be used except for a feral cat that cannot be given antibiotics on a daily basis. There are plenty of antibiotics that can be used that could be stopped in time if the pet has a reaction. DePorre would do nothing to help him when I took him back in. He denied it was the drug even though the drug fact sheet states that the anesthetic DePorre gave him was contraindicated with the use of Convenia. I took Baxter to Oakland Veterinary Referral Services. They also denied it was the drug. Please know that specialists depend on the referral of vets, and they will do everything to protect them. The day after Baxer died, DePorre left a message on my answering machine saying he was sorry to hear that Baxter died from liver cancer. He KNEW he didn't die from liver cancer. A couple of months later, I called the FDA to file an adverse drug reaction report. I was told that one had already been filed. Yep! DePorre had already filed an adverse drug reaction report. So, this is a vet that will kill your pet and then lie to you about it. Not only will you then have to suffer the devastation of a lost pet (and in my case, his litter mate had to also suffer his loss), but there is nothing you can do about it. Michigan law states that pets are nothing but property, so vets cannot be held accountable for malpractice. This law needs to be changed as it has been in many states. Stay away from DePorre if you value the life of your pet, and you want a vet that will be honest with you.

Very clean and organized. The receptionists are so nice! Much better than at Gasow. They were able to give me information about grooming, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and wellness of my dog in just a few short minutes. I'm so happy I found them! Their prices are reasonable, but a little bit more on ten expensive side. But definitely worth it because of the knowledgeable staff and positive environment!! When I got my dog boarded there (I have a mini Italian greyhound) the ladies at the front were so sweet they let her sit on their lap as they worked. Such amazing people!! I love this place❤️

Exceptional care by the staff at DePorre. The doctors are all kind and caring, the reception staff will ALWAYS fit you and your furbaby(ies) in for emergencies. I have been taking my dogs to DePorre for almost 15 years now and couldn't imagine taking them anywhere else. Dr. Lewis is just about the nicest human ever :-) My dogs (and I) adore him. He is so kind and caring and professional. As I said, exceptional care by everyone at DePorre.

I changed to DePorre 2 years ago after many years and dogs with another vet and I couldn’t be happier that I did. I live a bit of a distance away, but it’s worth every mile that I drive. Everyone is so very pleasant and welcoming, from the office staff to the doctors.
The primary vet for my little fur baby is Dr. Corey. She is wonderful! My dog had a life threatening reaction to her first rabies vaccine at our previous vet. At our first visit at DePorre, which was for an exam and vaccines, Dr Corey took the time to listen to my dog’s history and my concerns regarding giving her another rabies shot. After a very informative and patient discussion about all of my options, we came up with a plan of action that would work for everyone. I appreciated that Dr Corey took the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions and calm the fears that I had for my dog’s health and well being. The next day, Dr Corey called to see how my dog was doing, which impressed me even more. You can tell she understands the importance of pets to their families.
I also use the grooming facility that is located onsite, and would like to give them the recognition they deserve also. They do great work and it’s so convenient that there is a doctor available to see your pet while they are there for a groom. Thanks to Lisa, My pup always leaves looking so good!

If your pet is a part beloved member of your family, then there is no other choice but DePorre Veterinary for their scheduled and unscheduled doctors visits. Their staff greets everyone who walks in the doors with a smile and is ready to assist in a friendly and professional manner. The Doctors listen to your concerns using their education and training to evaluate the situation without running extra unnecessary tests, while still making sure to diagnose and order a course of treatment to follow. The grooming department cares and takes the time to listen as to how you would like to see your family members hair trimmed. Simply the BEST!!

I had taken my dogs to the same vet practice for over 10 years but after hearing such amazing things about Deporre and about Dr. Corey, I made the switch. To say that this was one of the best decisions for my fur babies would be an understatement. Dr. Corey exceeded every expectation I had set! She took time to get to know each of my dogs and she was caring, gentle and gave great advice. She went over their history and caught things the last practice had never even told me about. She never rushes appointments and she is quick to always return a phone call or email. I am so happy we found Dr. Corey by word of mouth and I know that my babies health is always the top priority with DePorre. Thank you so much for all you do!

She was so thorough, and really went above and beyond to make an overprotective doggy daddy feel comfortable. It is so obvious that she loves her job, and every pet she meets because of it. I wouldn't dream of going any other place for my pet needs! If you need a vet, boarding or groomer this is the place to go bar none! I am impressed with the care and concern by everyone we come into contact with at Deporre Veterinary Hospital. Dr. DeHunt recently cared for our Yorkie named Winston and did a fantastic job! When we bring Winston in for boarding the staff recognizes him immediately and greets him with love. We are guinea pig people, and Dr. Jillian Mast is the only Dr. We trust with our 7 boys. She is so kind and loving. She being a guinea pig lover too, understands our herd and loves them as her own. She is very knowledgeable and really goes above expectations especially to keep us educated and informed. Deporre has a real gem of a doctor now. We are willing to drive a half hour plus for her. She has been there since we got every pig, and knows them individually. Jane at the Front Desk was so kind getting our boys in on short noticed. Jane is amazing. I loved how Jane stopped us right before we left to see how our Irwin was. It's the one on one attention that wowed me and my wife. From the start the staff has been wonderful. I like how everything is done in the exam room. You never feel rushed, and it's so much easier. I also like that the staff is very eager to learn, and love their new exotic patients.

The work that you do is not a job, it is a passion! You are so giving of yourself in all that you do! You are kind, compassionate, caring and the love that you put into what you do, is amazing! I would highly advise against going to DePorre. Pierre DePorre killed my healthy 13 year old cat. I took my sweet Baxter in for a teeth cleaning, and DePorre pulled a tooth. He was given an antibiotic called Convenia. By the next day, Baxter still had not seemed to have recovered from the anesthesia, so I started investigating on the web. Do yourself and your pet a favor and Google it. It stays in the body for more than 100 days, so if your pet has a reaction, good-bye. I watched him die for 17 days. This drug should not be used except for a feral cat that cannot be given antibiotics on a daily basis. There are plenty of antibiotics that can be used that could be stopped in time if the pet has a reaction. DePorre would do nothing to help him when I took him back in. He denied it was the drug even though the drug fact sheet states that the anesthetic DePorre gave him was contraindicated with the use of Convenia. I took Baxter to Oakland Veterinary Referral Services. They also denied it was the drug. Please know that specialists depend on the referral of vets, and they will do everything to protect them. The day after Baxer died, DePorre left a message on my answering machine saying he was sorry to hear that Baxter died from liver cancer. He KNEW he didn't die from liver cancer. A couple of months later, I called the FDA to file an adverse drug reaction report. I was told that one had already been filed. Yep! DePorre had already filed an adverse drug reaction report. So, this is a vet that will kill your pet and then lie to you about it. Not only will you then have to suffer the devastation of a lost pet (and in my case, his litter mate had to also suffer his loss), but there is nothing you can do about it. Michigan law states that pets are nothing but property, so vets cannot be held accountable for malpractice. This law needs to be changed as it has been in many states. Stay away from DePorre if you value the life of your pet, and you want a vet that will be honest with you.

They were able to give me information about grooming, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and wellness of my dog in just a few short minutes. I'm so happy I found them! Their prices are reasonable, but a little bit more on ten expensive side. But definitely worth it because of the knowledgeable staff and positive environment!! When I got my dog boarded there (I have a mini Italian greyhound) the ladies at the front were so sweet they let her sit on their lap as they worked. Such amazing people!! I love this place❤️

I have been taking my dogs to DePorre for almost 15 years now and couldn't imagine taking them anywhere else. Dr. Lewis is just about the nicest human ever :-) My dogs (and I) adore him. I changed to DePorre 2 years ago after many years and dogs with another vet and I couldn’t be happier that I did. I live a bit of a distance away, but it’s worth every mile that I drive. Everyone is so very pleasant and welcoming, from the office staff to the doctors.
The primary vet for my little fur baby is Dr. Corey. She is wonderful! My dog had a life threatening reaction to her first rabies vaccine at our previous vet. At our first visit at DePorre, which was for an exam and vaccines, Dr Corey took the time to listen to my dog’s history and my concerns regarding giving her another rabies shot. After a very informative and patient discussion about all of my options, we came up with a plan of action that would work for everyone. I appreciated that Dr Corey took the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions and calm the fears that I had for my dog’s health and well being. The next day, Dr Corey called to see how my dog was doing, which impressed me even more. You can tell she understands the importance of pets to their families.
I also use the grooming facility that is located onsite, and would like to give them the recognition they deserve also. They do great work and it’s so convenient that there is a doctor available to see your pet while they are there for a groom. Thanks to Lisa, My pup always leaves looking so good!

Their staff greets everyone who walks in the doors with a smile and is ready to assist in a friendly and professional manner. The Doctors listen to your concerns using their education and training to evaluate the situation without running extra unnecessary tests, while still making sure to diagnose and order a course of treatment to follow. The grooming department cares and takes the time to listen as to how you would like to see your family members hair trimmed. Simply the BEST!!

To say that this was one of the best decisions for my fur babies would be an understatement. Dr. Corey exceeded every expectation I had set! She took time to get to know each of my dogs and she was caring, gentle and gave great advice. She went over their history and caught things the last practice had never even told me about. She never rushes appointments and she is quick to always return a phone call or email. I am so happy we found Dr. Corey by word of mouth and I know that my babies health is always the top priority with DePorre. Thank you so much for all you do!

They fit us in as an emergency yesterday and I didn't have to wait at all!!They knew my lil Nelly was scared so they let me carry her to the X-ray table. They had her back to me in no time at all, correctly diagnosed her and sent us on our way in under 30 minutes!! The staff is very friendly! Very loving!

She was so thorough, and really went above and beyond to make an overprotective doggy daddy feel comfortable. It is so obvious that she loves her job, and every pet she meets because of it. If you need a vet, boarding or groomer this is the place to go bar none! I am impressed with the care and concern by everyone we come into contact with at Deporre Veterinary Hospital. Dr. DeHunt recently cared for our Yorkie named Winston and did a fantastic job! When we bring Winston in for boarding the staff recognizes him immediately and greets him with love. We are guinea pig people, and Dr. Jillian Mast is the only Dr. We trust with our 7 boys. She is so kind and loving. She being a guinea pig lover too, understands our herd and loves them as her own. She is very knowledgeable and really goes above expectations especially to keep us educated and informed. Deporre has a real gem of a doctor now. We are willing to drive a half hour plus for her. She has been there since we got every pig, and knows them individually. Jane at the Front Desk was so kind getting our boys in on short noticed. Jane is amazing. I loved how Jane stopped us right before we left to see how our Irwin was. It's the one on one attention that wowed me and my wife. From the start the staff has been wonderful. I like how everything is done in the exam room. You never feel rushed, and it's so much easier. I also like that the staff is very eager to learn, and love their new exotic patients.
