This hospital is not focused on customer care or emergency response. Brought our dog in with a gash requiring stitches only to wait over an hour while he bleed. After asking how much longer it would be, learning he was not a priority, we left to go to MSU. They had him in immediately with kindness and care. There is a reason no other vet in Livingston county will refer you to this location - I recommend considering this when choosing care for your pet. Really awful customer service. I called for help when my cat came into contact with a possible rabies exposure. They were rude and offered no assistance. I called a 24 hour vet clinic in Ann Arbor they were great. Go anyplace else - don’t waste your time with these guys. They don’t have the compassion required to do this job. Took my dog to this vet because she was limping. Our dog wouldn't let us put a muzzle on and the vet didn't even touch her or examine her but said she probably had a pulled muscle and $133 later she sent us on our way with anti inflammatory drugs to take for a week. Ill start off by saying my mom used to take our animals here when they were in their old building but havent been back since I live a little too north to go here. Took my pup Rufus who was 15 years old into towne & country last night to be euthanized. I've known for about 6 months it was time and after him taking a turn for the worse yesterday afternoon I was glad there was a place close that I could take him even though they werent our normal place. They didn't push anything extra on me when I knew he just needed to cross the rainbow bridge and the staff was so kind to me when I brought him in. They treated Rufus with kindness and were just all around great. I was aware of the other reviews but decided to go and make my own opinions and I am glad I did. We had to put our American bulldog down a few weeks ago and our regular vet said she would not do it over at healthy pet in Milford Michigan, we took her to town and country and they were beyond great. Very inappropriate. When I called to bring in my animal for pain relief I was immediately responded with euthanasia as my option. Too soon. Additionally when I called a second time confirming I would bring my animal in a bit .....once we could compose ourselves and drive into town.......I was scolded and reprimanded by the same woman. I chose not to go to this facility based on her actions. The bedside manner is/was terrible. She should work as a dishwasher away from people’s feelings. Me and my mom have had three dogs over the last 20 years cared for by towne and country. We have had nothing but excellent care for all of are doggies. My moms dog Daffy just recently passed away and it was very hard the staff was great even sent my mom a beautiful card where they had all wrote special things to cheer her up! I had to take my kitty he was very lethargic couldn't poop or pee...the staff was great but the first doctor I had was a male doctor who could not look you in the eye and$400 later told me the kitty had a virus, which I kinda knew it wasn't that... took him back in the next day and saw a more detailed doctor who agreed with me that the kitty was constipated...and had a slight injury to his back.... I took him to another vet only to find out that yes he was constipated and also had a worm in his stool from mother not covered under the worming they get as kittens.... seriously this couldn't all have been done in one visit. The last vet I went to found everything in one visit. As for the first vet I would never go back to the male, but would see the female vet and staff was very nice.. for emergency I would go again great staff but would not ever see the male vet. Zero stars would be better but......Having recently been here for an appointment for a second opinion and being in the business of veterinary medicine I was absolutely appalled at how this hospital was run. Way to busy and overbook and very little staff. The staff they do seem to have seem very inexperienced and come off as rude. The doctors are incredibly young and inexperienced and do not seem confident at all in what they are doing. And after having dealt with them it is crystal clear the main goal of this hospital is to take as much money from your as possible regardless of the treatment they show you or your pet. The staff seemed very unhappy and that says a lot about a business and the management there. I would definitely avoid this place! I do not want to give them any stars but in order to leave a review you have to select at least 1 star. I wish I had read the reviews before we had taken our sweet baby to Town & Country animal hospital, Brighton. They take advantage of the love you have for your pets to suck so much money out of your pockets. Our 4 year old Maine Coon has digestive issues. He needed to see our vet for an fecal extraction which takes a few hours. We could not get him in so we called Town & Country animal hospital in Brighton (BIG MISTAKE) and we were able to bring him in the next day. We explained that he has had this issue before and what our regular vet would do. They said oh we have a better procedure and it would not be as uncomfortable for him. So we said ok. (ANOTHER BIG MISTAKE) We left him there on Monday thinking we would bring him home later that day or the next. Well we are now on day 3 and he is still compacted. Their "BETTER" procedure did not work and now they are doing the fecal extraction that we requested in the first place. But they couldn't do it right away because they had some emergencies come in and had to take care of them. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! But we not only have to pay for the EXTRACTION, we have to pay for the procedure that didn't work and 3 days in the hospital. This poor baby could have been relieved in just a few hours at a cost of about $150.00. But he is still there, still uncomfortable and the bill is somewhere around $800.00. UPDATE: We picked Waui up this morning and the bill was over $1000. After my son showed them the previous vet bills from our vet they adjusted the amount down to $815.00. Never never never again!!! I will tell anyone that will listen. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET THERE!!! Always read reviews of a business. I am sure they will comment on how professional they are and try to dismiss these comments. We took our 6th month old puppy here last night as an error visit. He was sneezing, coughing and very lethargic. The tech was wonderful with him and made us feel confortable. The vet was great too, he gave him a good check over, discussed with us what was going on, and came up with a plan. We were in and out with our little guy on the mend. Horrible ... I brought my cat in because he had not been acting right and peeing a lot ... he is diabetic come to find out . First thing Doctor says to me is we can have him put down .... I could have smacked the lady ! Did not even give me options first.. I said out of the question . Instantly I am prescribed the most expensive insulin again without talking other options . Had to bring him back in couple times for blood check and a 12 hour stay .. all $$$ ... I contact the place down the road .. 20 bucks to have him tested that's it .. now is when I got really pissed !!!! They wanted to do another 12 hour check and I had to leave town so I boarded him there !!! HORRIBLE MISTAKE ! .My cat barely ate and was scared put of his mind when I picked him up . How can you get real accurate reading like that?? You can't!!! On top of it HE WAS COVERED IN URINE AND FECES !!!! I WAS LIVID! If you want to know how this place operates look how he responds to his reviewers !!! This place is horrible and is a money maker that's it for them . They don't care about your pets and they are absolutely rude the whole time . Couldn't ever get a straight answer from any of them . I highly recommend taking your pet to town and country animal hospital. I recently took my dog for a reevaluation, and it was decided to put him back on medication. There was no real examination. They only charged me for the medication. This was the second time this happen here. Other places my former pets went to, would have charged for an office visit every time. The doctors, dr. Caring and Compassionate. Our very old doggie was experiencing some issues from cancer, affecting her ability to be comfortable. We knew it was time to let her go, but we didn't want to go to some sterile Vet clinic in a room she knew, so a friend told us about Towne & Country. We could not have been more happy. Having an already terrible day and difficult decision to make, Towne and Country made everything so calm and caring. They have a Family room where our girl was given a nice blanket to relax on, and everyone from the front counter to the Dr was so helpful and made this difficult time well, not so difficult. Told us our dog needed expensive surgery he only had a year left to live. He was doing great even though being told this. Went through with surgery he came home and died within 24 hours from internal bleeding. He was well watched and layed in bed to recover from the surgery. Town and Country came highly recommend. It was worth the drive from the Flint area! They got us in quickly, answered all my questions and even showed me the xrays and explained them to me. They were so kind to both me and my dog. The tech even carried my 75lb greyhound out to my car since he pulled a muscle on the front leg and had bandaging on his back foot. I took my Rottie into Towne & Country She had ate 4 Oz of 100% pure unsweetened baking powder. They took her in right away. They recommended she stay at the hospital over night where she could be monitored by a vet 24 hours since her heart rate was double what it should be. They started her on charcoal and an IV to flush the toxins through her system. They explained everything to me and gave me a written quote. 30 hours later she was able to come. We are the owners of a very healthy, happy, rambunctious 5-month-old kitten. The only reason he's alive....is because of the staff at Towne & Country. He was found as a stray at 3 weeks old, and some kind person surrendered him and his litter mate to the Hospital. He weighed less than a pound, and was a rack of bones. The Hospital could've euthanized them; sadly there is no shortage of unwanted kittens. Instead, they took the time to care for them, bottle-fed them and nursed the kittens back to health. Our Rocky lived there for 6 weeks. They said they named him Rocky because he's a fighter. It was a perfect name! They so desperately wanted to find a home for them. So, Melissa asked me. It seemed like a good time to open our hearts to a new pet....and he stole mine. Thanks T&C. In that moment of choice, you didn't have to do choose to care for them, and seek homes for them. I would like to let people know that I have been using this vet for more than a year and I have always recommended them to others until now. I call the office on Sunday to make an appointment for Monday because she wasn't acting right. They told me to bring her in on Sunday which I did. The doctor ran test and I informed them that with it being Sunday I couldn't transfer money to account to pay until Monday morning. They informed me I would have to talk to the front desk to make arrangements. They told me that she was in critical condition and they needed to keep her. I again told them that that I had to go to bank on Monday to transfer money. They told me that they couldn't do anything for me without payment . I went and got a check for much more than they were asking for but being a hand written check no place would cash the check. It was a payroll check and I told the clinic I would sign it over to them or let them hold it until 9 am for the bank to open so I could get the money to pay them which would of been 12 hours by this time. My dog was in pain and very sick. They refused which I tried to understand seeing how they are a business I thought they would of been more concerned about the dogs health. I had told them instead of making my pet suffer I would just like to put her down due to the chances of getting better were slim. They informed me that unless I paid the amount I owed for the testing they would do nothing for me. They had my pet from2:30 pm until 8:00pm they had done nothing for her. No Ivs,no medication , nothing to make here comfortable. When they told me this I told them I want to just take my pet home if she was going to be uncomfortable I would rather her be home with love than in a cage. I do not appreciate the comment they make saying I refused to let them put her down ,they didn't give me that choice the only choice they gave me is that unless I paid right away there was nothing they could or would do for me. When I did get my sadie home she started having seizures I call back to Towne & Country vet and they informed me that I was not to bring my dog to them. This is what the person answering the phone said that the owner had told her to tell me. I have no reason to lie about any of this. I have tried to be understanding of their situation but I really don't understand. It was a Sunday and the banks were not open and I did try and make it right by this company by coming up with some kind of solution. I do understand that if you do for one it makes it harder for you business and I'm not trying to start something but when you don't tell the whole truth then you are in the wrong. I even told them up front I would leave the title to my car if you could just help me until 9 am like I said would of been 12 hours And just in case you do read this my sadie was in critical condition. They did my dogs tail surgery. It looks like they chopped it off with a meat cleaver. He is a big dog and doesn't like it there but now he's infected and we need help. They gave him something to put him out but it didn't work. They would not give him anything else so after almost two hours of nothing, they sent us home with a bill and gauze.
