Dr Fear is the best vet for rabbits, guinea pigs, etc in the area. Dr Alsager is a feline specialist and is great. But, they can't dose medicine right for love or money. You have to look it up online to make sure you have enough meds, or aren't over dosing. Read Less

I took our puppy there Monday for her first visit.  I can't say it was the best nor the worst visit.  I can't even tell you the Vet's name because she didn't even introduce herself to me.  I made a comment at the desk that I was a first time owner, but that my boyfriend has had a dog before, so when the Vet came in she pretty much had it in her mind that we're new to being parents to a furbaby.  As our puppy's parents we have decided we didn't want her around other dogs until she is after she is spayed which she is only 11 weeks now and the Vet made it seem as though that was horrible.  Or at least I felt like whatever was discussed with her, she made it seem like my boyfriend and I are horrible parents or that we didn't know what we are doing.  We'll give this place another chance for her next visit when my boyfriend takes our puppy for her next shots. Dr. Fear has been treating our pet mini pig. Dr. Fear & the team at Alsager have all been great at trying to help treat her. They are very compassionate & caring - going to every length to make sure our pet is comfortable in their care. Service has always been very prompt and friendly. We are usually in a room exactly at our scheduled appointment time, though we may have to wait 5-15 mins for the doctor to come in at busier times. The women working the front desk & behind the scenes always remember our pet's name, greet her & ask how she is doing (whether or not they are helping the doctor that day). I feel like they are doing their best at all times, and truly care about every animal that comes in their doors. The pricing for visits, labs & medication is extremely fair. The best vet I've ever known! The staff are amazing and so welcoming. The vet himself is such a standup guy who really loves what he does! Always tells me, "this isn't work for me, it's my passion!" It shows. We had to put my 15 year old border collie down after she was having seizures and developed a GI bleed and they made the experience so humane and caring. It was the most humane situation for my girl and they offered a number of cremation/ burial options and even gave us an outline of her paw print to take home. I was going to another local vet.  I was not happy with them at all.  So I called around and found this vet.  My dog was itching very badly for several days.  They were able to get me in, but not until a day later, but gave me the first appointment.The place was very clean and not filled to the brim with people waiting. There are 2 entrances and 2 sets of seating spaces. I saw the owner, Dr. Mark Alsager.  Dr. Mark was understanding that my dog would have a very rough time taking pills.  So he tried giving the dog shots instead.  That was on a Sunday.I ended up buying medicated anti itch shampoo and bathed the dog later that day. By Monday, my dog was still itching pretty badly. I called up the vet office today and asked again about what could be going on.  Dr. Mark called me, but I didn't get to my phone and he left a voicemail to call back. I ended up chatting with him on the phone and he told me to come in later in the day and gave me an appointment.I brought my dog to him in the late afternoon. Dr. Mark had an assistant help him hold the dog to examine the dog and did a skin scraping so see what might be there.  The results came back negative. He did give the dog a different steroid shot. I asked if I could get a reduced cost for the visit.  To my AMAZEMENT, he did not charge me for the office visit or the skin scraping.  All he charged me for was the steroid shot, which I happily paid. I know for a fact that had I gone to my old vet, they would have charged me through the teeth for every little thing they could, every time. Dr. Mark Alsager will have new clients of me and my dog.  I am so impressed. He is extremely personable, caring and professional. We have shopped around to several Vets in our area and have found this Care Center to be the best! The staff is amazing! We have a not so friendly kitty and when he was hurt, they got us in right away and healed him with the most empathy I have seen in a long while! Best Vet in Canton as far as I am concerned. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have been taking my pets to Alsager's for over ten years. I have had five cats in this time and the Drs have been great to each one. Yes, the place is always busy, but if you have an appointment at 3:30, you'll get in pretty much at 3:30. My Siamese who was 18, started into kidney failure, with Dr Alsager's advice, I was able to keep him alive and comfortable for an extra 6 months. When the time came for me to say goodbye, they didn't hesitate to have me come in right then. They also have let me stay as long as needed in the room afterwards. I am so impressed with all of the staff here with my visit. I took my Ocicat here because my usual vet was over booked a week out. When I called they also were over-booked but asked what was wrong. The woman on the phone was genuinely concerned for my cat based on the symptoms described and asked me to come in so they could help us out. We were treated with nothing but great service despite how busy everyone was. You can tell that everyone is truly concerned with animals well being and I would recommend them to anyone. Amazing experience! I had a puppy emergency & Mrs. Kitty secured an appointment for my dog ASAP. Dr. Fear walked me through his diagnosis / thought process in GREAT detail. He sited numerous examples of patients (same breed) that he had treated in the past & shared the outcomes for those pups. We had what was - for us - an emergency situation with my son's dog. My daughter ziptied the dog into her doll stroller "because he kept jumping out". Unfortunately, when he tried to jump out with the ziptie on all he succeeded in doing was tightening it to the point where it became unbearably painful for him. At this point, I was made aware of the situation, but the dog was in so much pain no one could get near him without risk of serious injury. I called Alsager in need of immediate help (my son was also on the verge of being hysterical as he helplessly watched his dog twist in agony and try to bite thru the metal part of the stroller). Alsager told me to bring the dog (and stroller) in immediately. We got there and were taken right in to a room, and someone came to help us. They were able to muzzle him, but he was going absolutely crazy. I had to make my son leave the room, as he was almost in as much pain as the dog just watching him. It took 2 people, but they were able to free the dog. This is not the first time we've had a sad or sudden situation to deal with (we've also had to put a beloved dog to sleep unexpectedly). In both cases, the entire staff at Alsager were beyond wonderful. Everyone there is amazing!Read Less

This is my favorite veterinary clinic around. Dr. Fear is amazing and really spends a great deal of time with the actual exam and speaking with pet owners. He has taken great care of my rabbit and dogs. Dr. Alsager is also awesome. He's is very friendly and great with my dogs. Extra plus, they make setting up an appointment a breeze.
