I attempted to speak with Dr Hagewood at the referral of my regular vet regarding a marine fish issue He returned my call but before I could get barely get a sentence out, in hopes of a briefly discussing an issue, he cut me off and basically hung up the phone on me. I was stunned. It was very rude and unprofessional, and I deal with medical professionals daily all over the country, doctors and hospital administrators for a living Dr Hagewood perhaps didn't see large dollar signs in the first few words I barely managed to get out before I was HUNG UP ON, so I wasn't worth speaking with. I wasn’t expecting this because I was only taking my kitten here for a laser declaw and received so much more!!! Dr. Hagewood and staff took amazing care of my precious baby and I am greatly appreciative. Came across this office completely by accident. Long story short, we left our old vet for Canton Center Animal Hospital and haven't looked back. This is the cleanest, nicest vet's office I've been to in 3 states. Like others have said, they have separate waiting areas for dogs and cats/other pets. I can't speak for the other side, but the dog side has a huge tank full of fish (that could entertain my kids for days) and a TV they usually have going. The front desk staff have always been friendly and helpful. The first time we went was your usual first visit, nothing really good or bad about it. They did blood work at that visit to check up on our old dog's internal going-ons and called us as promised with the results. Not long after the first visit, our dog started having seizures. There's been no trouble getting him seen for follow up appointments or getting prescriptions called in to the pharmacy quickly. They've gotten lab work run and called me with results as soon as they've promised me. The doctor spent one particular appointment answering every single question I had without ever seeming like I was holding her up - and I'm sure we ran WAY over my scheduled time. Our dog has gotten to the point of end of life palliative care and she sat with me and walked me through every "What if" and "In this scenario..." I could think of - and at a later appointment, answered every question my 10 year old and 8 year old had for her. Best vet you could ever find. Read Less

I have been at this vet for 30+ years. over the years I've had about any animal you can think of, cats, dogs, fish, rats, Guinea pigs, and they took care of them all. all the vets are very experienced & friendly. the place is extremely clean, smells great. my favorite vet is Dr.Drake. I had to put my favorite cat down due to kidney stones and he was very friendly about it. he let me stay in the room and watch him go. he asked if I wanted to shave off some of his fur to keep, and I got to pet him as he went. When he said my cat was gone, I broke down crying and I swore he started crying too. he's a great guy and you can tell he generally loves his job. I would recommend this place to anyone. Read Less

I have seen all three veterinarians that see parrots here due to scheduling and availability.  I have always left feeling like they cared for my pet to the best of their abilities and have always been treated with respect here.  Dr. Moran has gone above and beyond for us multiple times, taking phone calls and doing research for us.  Definitely recommended above other vets in the area. Helped my little boys on more than one occasion, including a quick minor surgery after my one little dummy swallowed a stuffed animal's ear. We have gone to this vet with all of our dogs...past and present! All of the staff here is very caring to all of your animal's needs! I have seen several of the vets here and I have no complaints. I have 2 dogs (pyrenees mix and chi) and they all have truly taken the time in helping my dogs when a problem arises. When I make an appointment I try to see Dr. G, and if I can't get in with him then Dr. Moren...they are the best :) Read Less

We started taking our Labrador here almost two years ago. We love CCAH! They are always so friendly. I appreciate how thorough they are. No matter the issue, even if it's something very minor or concerning they always spend plenty of time informing and helping in every way they can. First pulling into the parking lot and walking to the doors, I noticed a different door/waiting room for cats, dogs and exotics. The waiting rooms are clean and the staff is nice and friendly. I took a blood python in for treatment and the room was sanitized and I was into the room quite quickly. The vet came in and was very thorough instantly and calm with the larger snake. I could hear them working with a larger bird in the room next door and just as much care was being taken in their room with their stressed out bird. These vets are very good at their job and is very thorough on exotics and reptiles. Highly recommend this place. Read Less

We take our family dog here.   They are compassionate and thorough.   My dog got sick recently and they got him in same day.  Although we had a hard time figuring out what was wrong, the vet really took time to consider all angles and possibilities.  All the Drs. and techs are very professional and nice.   I strongly recommend this vet practice. I cannot reccomend this hospital enough. we've been bringing all our family pets here for over 25 yrs. the staff; veterinarians, vet techs/assistants, reception staff, are all incredibly kind, empathetic/understanding and knowledgable. the facility is always very clean and well kept, they usually have a cute disney movie playing and even have a beautiful large aquarium. Every vet we've ever had here has been fantastic. (dr. Meyer and dr. tinker are my two favorite vets that are there presently and my dogs favorite too). I finally adopted my OWN first dog almost 3 yrs ago now and I knew right where to take her.  my dog is a big dog and she gets very excited/disruptive in the waiting room so I prefer to keep her in the car until they're ready to see her. (I feel like this definitely keeps her calmer for her exam and helps keep the other dogs in the waiting room from becoming even more nervous or anxious because they don't have to be influenced by her boisterous anxiety) the staff never seem upset by my request to just have someone wave to me from the door when they're ready for us. they definitely take the extra steps for the pet and owners comfort  alike. it really means a lot to me. over the past years when we've had to put our pets to sleep and say goodbye,  we've even received hand written sympathy notes in a card. (like I said we've been coming here for a long time) that definitely means a LOT to me as a pet momma. some people might say it's a little on the pricey side to come here, but this is where you get what you pay for - it's always worth every penny.  I would never sacrifice my girl's well being just to save a few extra dollars. I moved back to Canton a few weeks ago and was able to get an appointment here within a few hours of calling.  The staff was extremely friendly and efficient and really took the time to answer my questions.  I only had to wait for a few minutes to be seen.  The facility was bright and clean.It's really nice that they have separate entrances and waiting rooms for dogs and cats/small animals.Dr. Drake was very helpful and even went through my vaccination records and noticed that my dog was missing a vaccine that is given in Michigan but not in my former state.  He was able to start the vaccination series immediately so I didn't have to make a separate appointment.My visit was a little on the pricy side of average, but it was definitely worth it. This place is excellent for treating beloved family pets. Like one commenter said, they truly understand the bonds that tie. We have a little dog who is a bit overathletic and requires attention when he overdoes it, and one vet in particular was truly awesome at helping care for him. For our other pet, this particular vet (Dr. Hagewood) came up with a treatment plan that has been nothing short of miraculous for our dog's crippling (genetic) arthritis, and I'm convinced this doc has singlehandedly extended the quality of her life immeasurably. This dr. went above and beyond the call of duty, researching various approaches (she wasn't doing well on steroids), and this is the kind of professionalism and care they provide.  The vet techs,  and in particular Krisha, are terrific.That being said, we have had our pets cared for by other vets on staff, and I would feel comfortable with their treatments as well, although he is our preferred go-to doc when he's in because he is so involved in studying breeds and doing research and keeping up with studies and new advances in dog care. You can't beat that.As any animal owner knows, caring for these lil' creatures has its sad points, and this place understands all that very well when it comes to making tough decisions; we had to say goodbye to one of our companions a while back, but the staff couldn't have been more wonderful, and they sent us a sympathy card after we lost him. We had a temporary disenchantment with CCAH a while before that with the same big guy of ours that we lost, and went to another vet in the area on Ford Rd. by Lilley, and that was not at all a good experience, so CCAH won us back pronto and we never looked back or thought of going anywhere else. It's really understandable why people will drive from surrounding areas for their pets' care.They also have boarding facilities, which our pets actually enjoy bec. the staff give them quality attention and care (not sure how rates compare with other facilities around). An excellent veterinary clinic. Two entrances are nice - one for dogs, and one for cats/small animals with separate waiting areas mean your animal can be less stressed out.I go out of my area to come to this vet and have been for going on 15 years. The vets and staff clearly love animals and understand the human/animal bond.I can especially recommend Dr. Drake who was very knowledgeable and understanding. Read Less

My wife and I are both "dog people," not like the dog-faced boy, or like Cleveland Browns fans who wear the rubber bulldog masks, but the "dog people" that actually call their canine friend son and refer to themselves as mom and dad in its presence. And when our son Rafiki (our 80-lb. Labradoodle) needs anything at all, this is where we take him. We make the drive to Canton despite numerous vets in the area because this facility is clean, the staff truly LOVES their work and they always look for the most minimal impact on the animal. Our dog has had some peculiar problems in the past in his "hind area" and this was the first place that said we could solve it without surgery if need be. We did a minimal treatment and it saved him the discomfort of surgery and me thousands of dollars.You've got to love a vet that puts the animal before the bankroll. I'd recomend the Canton Center Animal Hospital to anyone needing pet care. Read Less
