I went there to have my cat Mango checked, due to extreme weight loss, and some other behavioral problems. Sadly, they informed me that he had a large tumor (the size of a baseball) growing in his abdomen. There was nothing I/they could do to help him. His life ended there. Even though it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, the staff was extremely sympathetic and helpful to my needs. They even made a pawprint for me, and clipped some of his fur and put it in a little keepsake bag. A couple days later, they sent me a beautiful sympathy card. I would highly recommend Cat's Veterinary. RIP Mango. 6-1-05 to 5-4-18.Read Less

Do not use this veterinary hospital for radio iodine treatment for your cat. Even though I questioned them on the dose that they would use, they over dosed my cat and she is now hypothyroid! The retiring veterinarian,( Dr. Dan Marshall) who started the practice years ago was very rude when I questioned him on what I had heard about too high a dose of radio iodine treatment. He was wrong and my cat paid the price. They are stuck in the 1980s. I found out afterwards that any of the other places that perform this treatment ( Oakland Veterinary Specialists, and Exclusively Cats are two of them), give a much lower dose which is much better for the cat. The other place I would not use is Kentwood Veterinary. They would not disclose what type of doses they use. Do not go to a place that is not willing to tell you how they dose - chances are they use too high of a dose. Several other veterinarians who do the radio iodine treatment for hyperthyroidism in cats, were aghast when they heard how high a dose Cats Veterinary used on my cat who was only mildly hyperthyroid. The young veterinarian( Dr. Vani),who is taking over for Dr. Marshall was not aware of what a "thyroid storm" was. Any veterinarian that practices radio active iodine treatment, needs to be aware of this possible fatal effect. Read Less

Read Less
