I took our family cat there, ended up being numerous visits. My reason for going, he had an eye with the extra eyelid down and looked infected. They never recognized "Horners" syndrome and told me they were going to need to do an exploratory examination putting him under to see what was going on in his mouth. The results were to have his teeth extracted. Although he probably had some dental issues at 12 years old, he had something much worse going on that they missed. He actually had Horners syndrome that should have been recognized. I learned that this is a condition that occurs when there is something else going on, and not bad teeth. After thousands of dollars, teeth extraction, and became blind after the extractions, Β I took our cat to the ER vet since he wasn't better. It was then that the first look at him from the ER vet that they immediately said he had Horners syndrome and there was an underlying cause which should have been recognized right away because it was so blatantly obvious. The ER vets were honest and told me that we needed to do a CT scan to find out what was going on. We found out days later that our cat had a large mass behind that eye issue that we originally took him to Chelsea for.We were charged a lot of money between the Chelsea vet clinic and the Dixboro facility, this could have all been avoided if "Horners" syndrome had been identified from the beginning. Just an FYI, all of the pricing was higher than the 24 emergency care. Our wonderful cat is gone now, I am so saddened and the worst part about it, he didn't need to go through all of the shots, poking, exploratory surgery, Β teeth extractions , medications, and misery if Horners syndrome had been identified in the first place.Sent from my office Read Less
