They are always efficient and friendly, their staff knowledgeable, and they genuinely care about your pet. They are one of the few businesses left that make you feel like family. Lane Animal Hospital is excellent! We have been taking our 9 1/2 year old golden retriever there since we moved to the Chelsea area nearly 4 yrs ago. He used to need lots of coaxing to walk into the Vet's office. At LAH he runs in eager to see the friendly front desk staff, the Vet Techs and the Veterinarians. He LOVES Dr Margaret!! He willingly follows her to the treatment area for lab work and or minor surgery. Margaret Lane is very professional, knowledgeable and caring. Our family has been taking our pets here my whole life! They have been with us through the ups and downs of having wonderful pets live to optimum ages and having to sadly saying good bye to some. When I was little we had a dog that was hit by a car and not being able to afford his surgeries they found a wondeful person to adopt him while paying for his surgeries rather than having to put him down. We have had two dogs pass from old age while we currently have one at 16 and going strong! My boyfriend and I have two dogs (1 and 3 years old). The three year old had a sever allergic reaction in which was our deciding factor to switch from a vet closer to our house that we had always taken him to go to lanes! They were so helpful and made sure to keep checking in on him. With the new puppy I just couldn't trust a new vet to do a surgery (neutering) on him. Last minute I switched back to Lanes to get his surgery done which I am glad I did! After reviewing the previous vet files turns out they forgot to give him one of his very vital shots necessary before doing surgery. Had I not switched to Lanes the other vet would have ever caught it! Needless to say I now drive an hour for my dogs vet appointments! Dr. Rokke is my ultimate favorite saving the day catching the mistake of my former vet, patiently listening and gathering all information, and suggesting next steps! She has helped me greatly with my pup that has separation anxiety. We have also seen many of the other great doctors like Dr. Holly, Margret Lane, Bowers, not to mention all of those in the past even the original Dr. Lane! My wife took our kitten to them as soon as we found her in our yard as a stray left by her mother the vet seemed nice and caring as our kitten grew to be a cat and has just passed away yesterday only 10 months old the day we noticed something was wrong with her on a sunday we went in monday asap only to have the inexperienced Dr Fryburg say we can do an xray and blood panel they did the xray but not the blood till the following wed. Our dearly loved cat died of low red blood cell count and was anemic the Dr said on thursday that she would need a blood transfusion. Our problem is we feel the Dr should have gotten a second opinion from a more experienced professional. Read Less

I took my dog to Lane Animal Hospital to see Dr. Jen Rokke. She had been both my dogs vet for 15 years in Ohio and we have missed her since she moved. Dr. Rokke is the most comprehensive vet I have ever seen. Her direct, honest manner and her willingness to take the time to educate and answer questions about your pets health is always much appreciated. Over the years Dr. Rokke has gone above and beyond (to many times to count) to help my dogs and me. She once spent her day off researching a test that would diagnose my dogs auto immune disease. This was the first time I have been to Lane Animal Hospital. The staff was kind and helpful. While I waited to see the vet, I was offered coffee and water. The receptionist even brought over a bowl of water for my dog. I can't say enough about how respectful and kind everyone was! Thanks for everything!Read Less

Luke our "yellow dog"is a Lab from Dr Westhoff's last litter!! He is precious to us and treated that way every time we see Lane's Dr's and all the staff He's 12 in April and in excellent health due to the care he received! If could put less than one star i would this place is a huge joke!!!! All they care about is getting money. I have a pitt boxer mix who has been limping for months now he has been in and out of the vet been to lane atleast 3 times in the last two months or so 1st they put him on meds didnt work so they said he would need xrays so we set up an appointment tell the lady on the phone hey u have seen him they said he would need xrays also he is making a weird cough or hacking nosie so she sets up for an appintment we go in...1st the vet technician is so afraid of or dog he backed him self as far from my dog as possible (who by the way was still on the leash) so my dog is growling at steve and steve asked what the dog issue was. I told him he was growling because he came in and just started talking and the dog is scared cuz he dosnt know him so he decided to try to give my dog treats but instaed he threw treats across.the room at him (my dog wouldnt eat them off the floor he trained to take treats from.a hand), and then when he was brave enough to try give the dog a treat from his hand he was shaking and that caused my dog to tuck his tale start.shaking and growl more(my dog took the treat from his hand very gentle) He couldnt listen to his heart because he was to scared of the dog.. at this point my dog is very confused and up set. The dr comes in and decided that he needs to be muzzled. My dog is 5 years old and has NEVER once been or needed to be muzzled. But we let them muzzle him... the doc looks at him for like 1 min just to.tell.us they dont do xrays that day and they cant give him anything for the cough/hacking nosie hes making because of ybe mefs they already put him on for tbe limp. and send us home with no answers or help we were prob only there 30mins all togethwr so we basicly paid 35 dollars to have our dog tortured and get no answers at all expect come back in, in a few days. They could have looked at his chart n told us all this on the phone and saved us money and my poor dog the anxiety. We now go to the Humane Society and not once has my dog been muzzled and he even lays in the vets lap. Also lane told us that xrays would take 6hrs... at the human society it only takes an hour and we had an appointment for xrays the next day unlike lane where it would take a week or more to get in and multiple unpleasant and unnecessary visits. This is not the first vet visit at Lane that has been unsatisfying and a waste of time and money. The sad part is that we have another dog 12 and had been going to lane for years but the last year or two lane has just be a complete disappontment when we go.. Read Less

Oh my goodness where should I begin! We have been to Lane Hospital only three but those three times were the best we have ever experienced at any veterinarian office/hospital. The office is beautiful and well taken care of. The staff was compassionate, courteous and very knowledgeable. Dr. Lane and Dr. Holly were informative, loving and truly cared about the situation at hand. We didn't feel as though we were trying to be talked into unnecessary services. They treated what was going on at that time and gave us choices on treatment for what was best for our Hipster. Hipster is doing very well and is back to his playful self. We've been with Lane Animal Hospital for 40 years now and have gotten wonderful care for all our animals -- mostly cats. We feel fine dealing with any of the doctors -- they all do a great job, and the ladies at the desk and the technicians are caring and efficient. We had a cat tangle with a raccoon this past Saturday and they squeezed us in even though their schedule was full. If you haven't decided on a vet yet, this is a great one to choose!! Read Less

My dog has received nothing but the best of care from Lane. They have taken care of him throughout most of his long life and until the end. Without a doubt he wouldn't have made it as long as he did with out them and I am greatful for their competent and compassionate service. Everyone at Lane's is very compassionate and they obviously truly care about our pets. Dr. Jon came to our home to euthanize our 12 year old lab, which made her last moments very peaceful and comfortable. Dr. Rokke provided exceptional care to my elderly dog in his last days. We took him in because he was very lethargic. We thought he had a leg injury and was painful, however, it turned out to be a lot more than just that. He had a tumor that was causing him to bleed internally. Ultimately, he only lived for another week or so before we made the hard choice to say goodbye but we were able to keep him comfortable and have a little more time with him. To say that the staff and doctors at Lane Animal Hospital were compassionate and understanding is an understatement. They were there to help my wife and I through a very difficult time and I will be forever grateful. We will not take our pets anywhere else! Read Less

Run AWAY From Dr Holly Andrick! Last year I asked her to clean my dogs teeth. She told me that my dog didn't need it. I took him back for his yearly. I asked her about his teeth once again. She said wow his teeth are bad! They really got bad over the year. I asked her to schedule a cleaning. She said she would call me and schedule an appointment. After a week of waiting for her to call I became really upset took him to another vet . The new vet told me there was no way that much damage could have been done in a year! Today he is having surgery. He is going to loose 12 teeth. I should not have trusted Dr. Holly Andrick. All during this time I brushed his teeth and gave him chews to try to keep his teeth clean.. So trust me she is all about selling Heart worm and flea medications but not preventative care. So take my work for it run. Words can never express how awesome the doctors and staff are but I will try. In July we lost our home and two of our 3 pets to a fire. The morning after the fire the 3rd pet (Hope)was waiting patiently for us on our dining room table. She was soaked and black from the fire. I immediately took her out to Lane Animal Hospital. Dr Holly immediately examined her and offered to clean her up. 5 baths later and no burns Hope was kept overnight to make sure there was no smoke damage. This is the amazing part.... since we were living in a hotel Dr Holly made her the live in clinic cat and the staff spoiled her rotten for a month till we moved into our rental home. Also in the weeks after the fire we found our dogs remains and took them out to the clinic for cremation. When we received her ashes they were in a beautiful wood carved box. We also received a sympathy card which was hand signed by the doctors and all the staff. Every time we visit the clinic the staff is so kind and you can tell they truly care about your pets. I will be forever grateful to them for taking such good care of our pet during a very stressful time.Read Less
