I highly recommend this vet/office! Our dog, Laverne, is so scared and frightened of the vets from past experiences at another vet office. We recently moved to the area, and knew we needed to switch vets since we weren't happy with how she was treated previously. We came to Advanced Petcare of Oakland from a recommendation of a friend, and we are so glad that we did!! Dr. Arment spent so much time working with our dog to make sure it was always a comfortable and positive experience. This is truly a doctor that loves what she does. Everyone, from the front office staff to all of the techs, treat our dog with so much love. They genuinely cared about our dog like she was their own! I gave 5 stars because they're friendly and they do care about the animals. However I'm not too thrilled with trying to give me a $62 antibiotic for my dog. Choosing to have a furry family member euthanized is one of the most difficult and responsible decisions you will ever have as a pet owner. Our family unfortunately had to make this call last weekend, and chose Advanced PetCare in Clarkston as the place to have this done. I cannot say enough nice things about them. They had a special room just for this. The staff was incredibly compassionate and informative. They never rushed us, or made this feel like this was a common occurrence. I've taken 2 of my cats to this animal hospital. The first visit (about a year ago) was an emergency, my cat had pus oozing from his head and I was panicking since every hospital closed within 30 minutes. Not only did they make a last minute appointment, they stayed late to care for my pet. Unfortunately I'm back again with a very sick cat. This has been a long and heartbreaking process but every receptionist, tech, and veterinarian has been unbelievably kind and honest. Very caring staff. Very clean, very organized, easy to schedule/reschedule. That said, they're overpriced and quick to prescribe. I understand sometimes it's better to prescribe or provide an intervention because it's better safe than sorry, but I always feel judged when I decline interventions that I feel are unnecessary. We will continue to take our cats because this is the closest vet to our home and we are getting quality service from kind and good staff. I took my kitty here for the first time today. I wasn't happy with my previous vet. He always fixed problems, but he was rough and didn't check things out throughly. I did some research last night and really had a good feeling about advanced pet care! My visit was everything I could ask for. Dr. Jill was so sweet and really took her time. She prescribed pain medications to keep my cat comfortable and off of his injured foot. She also gave us a smaller 'cone' for his comfort and to make it easier for him to eat and drink. Her vet techs and front desk staff were also very compassionate and educated and answered all of my questions. My parents saw Dr. Jill last month to put our dog down and they also had nothing but good things to say. High quality care is the most important thing to me, but I also wanted someone with a gentle touch and a true love for my family pets. Highly recommend this office. They did a wonderful job! I rushed my dog in and they charged me $500 in testing and told me my dog had gas when really my dog had a life threatening infection & ended up needed an emergency surgery had I listen to this vet my dog would be dead!!! We love Dr. Wilson! My hedgehog comes in for his routine nail trims and the prices at this vet are so wonderful compared to the same service that I've had quoted from other vets. I am always able to get an appointment that works for me and the appointments are mostly always on time or Ive even been seen early. I have been seeing all of the doctors at Advanced Pet Care for about a year. I am in two different rescues and see/deal with MANY vets all over the state of Michigan. I can assure this office is one of the BEST!!! I am here at least once a month (often times more). Not only are the doctors amazing, the staff is too! I recently took my puppy Winter here a few weeks ago because he accidentally swallowed a piece of my daughters toys. I rushed Winter to Advanced Pet Care to be treated & let me just say I received outstanding service from everyone. Once I found out that they had to do exploratory surgery because they noticed the foreign object and were concerned I was a wreck but the receptionists were amazing and thoughtful!! They reassured me that everything was going to be okay even though I didn't believe it. After about an hour later the Doctor came and told me that they were able to remove the toy. If your animal is in need any care especially an emergency I would recommend Advanced Pet Care to any one! Beautiful facility. Wonderful doctors who actually care about the well being of my pet, and compassionate staff. My dog is timid around strangers and the technicians took their time with him and allowed him to warm up to them and get comfortable before beginning any procedures.
