Dr. Rezler is by far the only vet to see at this hospital. Dr. Brookes is an egomaniac and thinks he can make an old dog young and healthy by feeding them pills on a daily basis. The staff is very friendly and kind to all my dogs. Also, always able to get an appointment whenever needed. Would recommend Dr Rezler to anyone looking for a new vet for their dogs. Read Less

This was my first time here and everyone there was so helpful and nice. My cat had a wound that was infected from a cat fight and my usual vet hospital was closed. I️ was recommended to go to lakeside animal hospital by a friend and they took us in right away when I️ called. My cat feels so much better today and back to his usual activity. What an amazing group of animal care givers! Last eve my lab cut her belly open in the woods. Her regular Vet was unavailable to see her. Lakeside Vet hospital saw her even though triple booked. They all stayed overtime to surgically repair her dangerous wound. They stayed to recover her and we took her home within the hour. Hats off to going above and beyond helping Prudence. I have a mixed opinion here.....on a positive note, they gave me medicine which cured my cat's ear problem for a while (it is a persistent problem) and the prices are fair. On the downside, I had a bad experience with Dr, Brooks over one of my budgies. He practically yelled at me for not cooking fresh food for the bird ( I feed my birds seed. One is 9 and one is 6 so clearly it's not hurting them). I don't cook for people much less a bird! Then he called my bird a feather picker when he had only been picking at his feathers on the leg that was injured. The leg injury was the reason for my visit. He had gotten stuck while flying around and hurt his leg. Dr. Brooks was able to tell me that his leg was not broken. This man needs a personality transplant or something. Facilities leave a bit to be desired. They are old and dirty looking. Go to Commerce Village Veterinary Hospital on Commerce Road between Carroll Lake and Commerce instead. When my daughter's dog needed a rather unusual surgery, great care was given by Dr. Brooks to ensure that he (Domino) would have a successful outcome and recovery. I have used Lakeside for the last 25+ years for my veterinary needs and I would highly recommend them. Dr. Brooks and Dr. Rezler always take the time needed for any questions and concerns. The staff is always cheerful and accommodating. My previous two dogs were under Lakeside's care from puppies until the end of their lives where they were treated with much love and dignity. This vet is so great. Very nice, welcoming and caring staff, clean facility and flexible with appointments. I highly recommend it. Our puppy loves going, and the veterinarian is prompt and on time. You don't have to worry about spending half the day, I took my pup for a shot and was in and out in 20 minutes, even when I saw several other dogs enter the facility around the same time. Best of all they are very caring and loving to my animal. It makes such a difference! Love this place!Read Less

I have transferred my pet to another vet due to the aggression and lack of professionalism Dr. Brooks displayed when I went to pick up my mom's dog. She said she left a credit card, but they didn't show it on record. Even though my family has been going to that vet since 1995, they wouldn't release my mom's pet to me without payment and Dr. Brooks even took it as far as locking me in check up room and yelling at me to turn over the dog. Needless to say, he has rage issues.... I can only imagine how he treats an animal that angers him. I will NEVER go here again and wouldn't trust Dr. Brooks alone with a flea. Read Less
