My cat just had surgery on his leg and I wasn’t scared at all leaving him with Dr. Childs. We picked Carl up the next day and Dr. Childs sent us home with treats for Carl because Carl had liked them so much. The entire office truly cares.

Dr Childs is very compassionate and understanding, the office staff is attentive and professional.
I am never going to any other vet. Dr Childs had not treated my Bull Mastiff Bailey since 2012, however, 2/28/18 I called the office and explained that Bailey was nearing the end of her journey with us and we were unable to move her or get her into the car. My current vet would not make arrangements to come out until 2 days later which is now why I will not go to them or anyone else. Dr Childs came out after a full day of work, spoke so compassionately to me and my son knowing that this was his first friend to lose and was questioning our decision. Dr Childs spent an hour (or felt like it) telling my son exactly what he thought and why. He explained in an educated manner, straight forward, and as I stated very compassionately. He let my son make the final decision, which he did confidently ONLY because of how Dr Childs treated him. I am so thankful, losing her was so painful but Dr Childs made it so much easier to say goodbye to her in the humane way we wanted, he treated ALL of us with so much compassion and respect. This office and doctor will be the only one we use from now on. Thank you for taking the time to read this long review.....I hope this helps anyone make a decision to use this office.

Very reasonable pricing and one of the only visiting veterinarians in the Davison area, which is always nice. Dr. Childs and his vet techs are kind, down to earth and explain everything very clearly, listening to your concerns and adjusting on the fly to big dogs who sometimes aren't interested in behaving! I'd recommend mostly because he'll find a way to help if he can - Dr. Childs has made a last minute appointment to euthanize one of our senior dogs who went downhill suddenly, after hours no less. Five stars.

I've taken my pets to Childs Veterinary Clinic for years and have always been very happy. Yesterday we had to do the hardest thing ever and have Dr. Childs euthanize our family cat. Their office handled everything so professionally and I couldn't ask for a better experience with an awful situation. I've been happy with their services from routine vaccinations to teeth cleaning, but this experience was the ultimate in everything they've done for me and my family.

I tried to transfer my animals from dunckel veterinary to child's because it's a lot closer to my home but my 4 animals are turned away from child's because they aren't taking new patients they are waiting for another doctor it's going to be over a month so might as well not even bother I'll stick with dunckel they are more concerned about your animals needing to see doctor than turning them away I'm more concerned about having a caring facility than mileage so I'm sticking with dunckel and will never try this again

Dr child's and his staff are absolutely amazing!! He makes sure he bonds with not only the animal you bring into his office but also the owners. He is so kind and loving towards each and every animal that sets it's paws through the door. Dr child's even will miss family time just to check up on your animal! His staff is just as amazing! They are so kind and compassionate with the animals as if they were their own. After my dogs got neutered, I got a call the next day to see how they were doing! Then i was worried about one of my dogs and Dr child's was willing to see my pup on day the clinic wasn't open. These guys so above and beyond for their clients! I highly recommend them to anyone!

My dogs HATE going to the vet, NOT because of the people there or experience, only because of them being babies wherever they go! They will whine and cry along with going potty on the floor and the staff there help me try to make them comfortable as much as possible. I wouldn't trust any other doctor to take care of my dogs. The best service is given with love and compassion towards all the animals that walk through the door. Not to mention, the prices are great! So glad to know my babies are in the safest hands they could be in when it comes to their health!

I wouldn't even consider bringing my dog(s) to another vet. Dr. Childs ONLY wants the best for your pet. He has been our vet for over 12 years (before the Childs clinic). The entire staff is kind and understanding, always willing to help. Prices are more than reasonable! I even go to St. Clair Shores to get my sister's dog when she needs medical attention. When one of my dogs needed surgery for a torn crucia ligament, I brought him to 4 vets for opinions and all 4 said Dr. Childs is the best for that surgery. He takes the time to explain everything in detail, Dr. Childs wants the best for his patients. Highly recommend Childs Veterinarian Clinic!

This is the FIRST vet I've ever been to that actually reduces their exam fee for short examinations such as ''oh they're fine''. They give group discounts on cats. But you don't sacrifice any service by getting this inexpensively. In fact, Dr. Childs has the best service and care for an animal that I have ever seen as well as the best prices I've ever seen! As long as he's in business, I'm a life-time customer!

Dr. Child's is a loving, caring vet. He takes care of each of my animals as if they were his own. He listens to what you have to say, asks questions, and gives you advise. He is not pushy and takes all the time you need as a customer. The biggest thing I like is that you always get him to see your animals. At other offices you don't know who you are getting and they don't know the history of your animal. Not knowing the history of your animal means you have to spend half of your visit explaining what has gone on so far with your animal.

Finding a good vet is just as hard as finding a good pediatrician. And when you find one, you are loathe to part with them. That's part of the reason I will continue to drive from Lansing to see Dr. Childs and his terrific staff at their brand new clinic. This clinic is warm, friendly and intimate. You know, whether it's for 20 mins or overnight, that your pet will be treated like their own. Rates are AWESOME (rescue friendly) and the environment is so cozy, you hardly feel like in your in a vet clinic at all. And bes of all, my dog loves to go!! Dr. Childs has gotten on his knees to rub her belly and gone out of his way to make her feel secure there. It is definitely worth the trip to see him!!!

My cat just had surgery on his leg and I wasn’t scared at all leaving him with Dr. Childs. We picked Carl up the next day and Dr. Childs sent us home with treats for Carl because Carl had liked them so much. The entire office truly cares.

Dr Childs is very compassionate and understanding, the office staff is attentive and professional.
I am never going to any other vet. Dr Childs had not treated my Bull Mastiff Bailey since 2012, however, 2/28/18 I called the office and explained that Bailey was nearing the end of her journey with us and we were unable to move her or get her into the car. My current vet would not make arrangements to come out until 2 days later which is now why I will not go to them or anyone else. Dr Childs came out after a full day of work, spoke so compassionately to me and my son knowing that this was his first friend to lose and was questioning our decision. Dr Childs spent an hour (or felt like it) telling my son exactly what he thought and why. He explained in an educated manner, straight forward, and as I stated very compassionately. He let my son make the final decision, which he did confidently ONLY because of how Dr Childs treated him. I am so thankful, losing her was so painful but Dr Childs made it so much easier to say goodbye to her in the humane way we wanted, he treated ALL of us with so much compassion and respect. This office and doctor will be the only one we use from now on. Thank you for taking the time to read this long review.....I hope this helps anyone make a decision to use this office.

Very reasonable pricing and one of the only visiting veterinarians in the Davison area, which is always nice. Dr. Childs and his vet techs are kind, down to earth and explain everything very clearly, listening to your concerns and adjusting on the fly to big dogs who sometimes aren't interested in behaving! I'd recommend mostly because he'll find a way to help if he can - Dr. Childs has made a last minute appointment to euthanize one of our senior dogs who went downhill suddenly, after hours no less. Five stars.

I've taken my pets to Childs Veterinary Clinic for years and have always been very happy. Yesterday we had to do the hardest thing ever and have Dr. Childs euthanize our family cat. Their office handled everything so professionally and I couldn't ask for a better experience with an awful situation. I've been happy with their services from routine vaccinations to teeth cleaning, but this experience was the ultimate in everything they've done for me and my family.

I tried to transfer my animals from dunckel veterinary to child's because it's a lot closer to my home but my 4 animals are turned away from child's because they aren't taking new patients they are waiting for another doctor it's going to be over a month so might as well not even bother I'll stick with dunckel they are more concerned about your animals needing to see doctor than turning them away I'm more concerned about having a caring facility than mileage so I'm sticking with dunckel and will never try this again

He is so kind and loving towards each and every animal that sets it's paws through the door. Dr child's even will miss family time just to check up on your animal! His staff is just as amazing! They are so kind and compassionate with the animals as if they were their own. After my dogs got neutered, I got a call the next day to see how they were doing! Then i was worried about one of my dogs and Dr child's was willing to see my pup on day the clinic wasn't open. These guys so above and beyond for their clients! I highly recommend them to anyone!

My dogs HATE going to the vet, NOT because of the people there or experience, only because of them being babies wherever they go! They will whine and cry along with going potty on the floor and the staff there help me try to make them comfortable as much as possible. I wouldn't trust any other doctor to take care of my dogs. The best service is given with love and compassion towards all the animals that walk through the door. Not to mention, the prices are great! So glad to know my babies are in the safest hands they could be in when it comes to their health!

I wouldn't even consider bringing my dog(s) to another vet. Dr. Childs ONLY wants the best for your pet. He has been our vet for over 12 years (before the Childs clinic). The entire staff is kind and understanding, always willing to help. Prices are more than reasonable! I even go to St. Clair Shores to get my sister's dog when she needs medical attention. When one of my dogs needed surgery for a torn crucia ligament, I brought him to 4 vets for opinions and all 4 said Dr. Childs is the best for that surgery. He takes the time to explain everything in detail, Dr. Childs wants the best for his patients. Highly recommend Childs Veterinarian Clinic!

But what has impressed me even more is his generosity for letting me come in for a day! However, his good character doesn't stop there...Dr. Childs and his family are very active in the community and we are so lucky to have such a great clinic in our town! When some family members were looking for a new vet, we recommended Childs and they are beyond ecstatic with the care their Yorkie receives! He truly puts his clients needs first and does so in such a professional manner! This is the FIRST vet I've ever been to that actually reduces their exam fee for short examinations such as ''oh they're fine''. They give group discounts on cats. But you don't sacrifice any service by getting this inexpensively. In fact, Dr. Childs has the best service and care for an animal that I have ever seen as well as the best prices I've ever seen! As long as he's in business, I'm a life-time customer!

He is not pushy and takes all the time you need as a customer. The biggest thing I like is that you always get him to see your animals. At other offices you don't know who you are getting and they don't know the history of your animal. Not knowing the history of your animal means you have to spend half of your visit explaining what has gone on so far with your animal.

Finding a good vet is just as hard as finding a good pediatrician. And when you find one, you are loathe to part with them. That's part of the reason I will continue to drive from Lansing to see Dr. Childs and his terrific staff at their brand new clinic. This clinic is warm, friendly and intimate. You know, whether it's for 20 mins or overnight, that your pet will be treated like their own. Rates are AWESOME (rescue friendly) and the environment is so cozy, you hardly feel like in your in a vet clinic at all. And bes of all, my dog loves to go!! Dr. Childs has gotten on his knees to rub her belly and gone out of his way to make her feel secure there. It is definitely worth the trip to see him!!!
