I wish i could give this place 5 stars. The female doctor who sees rats is absolutely amazing (i think her name is Dr. Warner). She's so good with animals and makes them feel really comfortable, she's super hands on and checks their teeth, eyes, ears, breathing and even skin elasticity every time! She has such a calm deaminor and i have a great deal of trust in her to always do what she feels is right. I also love her assistant and that they work side by side and that you can ecpect the same person every time. Now.... I really wish i could say the same for the male Dr who also sees rats (I think his name is Dr Wright)? He never has the same assistant and we have been shorted medicine and been charged way more than we should have going through him because they gave us 3 small increments of antiniotic instead of a larger size that would have been the same amount but less expensive. I've also been given an antibiotic from him that was tainted but didn't know untill after it was too late. There were times I brought all 3 of my rats in and he didn't even bother laying a finger on them, just looked at them and sold us a bunch of really expensive medication. I took one of my rats in who was having trouble walking and he didn't even tough his leg, just said it could be be a number of things, like he didn't even move the leg around to see if it was physical vs an infection. Now my biggest issue with him is the fact that i feel he used my sick rat as some what of an experiment and caused him to die sooner than he should have, my rat had an infection and was getting better with antibiotics, i took him in to just get more antibiotics since he was alredy responding so well. This Dr had me cut the dose I was giving by more than half and gave me some really expensive eye ointment that was had antibiotics in it. After getting home and seeing how much the antibiotic dose was cut I felt like something wasn't right and that a mistake was made, I called and spoke to one of his vet tecs and asked her if the dose was wrong. She seemed like she though it wad wrong but asked him and he said it was right. I wish so bad i would have trusted my gut because days later my rat got really sick again and sure enough needed to be on a higher dose. He never really got better and died soon after and I really think if that unnecessary stress wasn't put on his body that he would have lived longer.

Today was my first visit there this afternoon with my cat Frank, all of the staff were very friendly. The veterinarian and her team of techs were very compassionate and were able to answer all of my questions and concerns with logical explanations and were extremely helpful. The establishment was very clean and well kept. All in all, a great experience.

We love Dunckel! I have 2 dogs and a cat, plus taking the occasional foster dog in. They know me by name and also know my dogs and cats names when we walk in the door. We have always received excellent care and follow up. Also, they have always found a way to fit us in whenever there was an emergency or even a possible emergency. The staff is very friendly, kind and knowledgeable frome the front desk to the techs and the docs. I highly reccomend them!

I had never taken my dog here before but they where the first vet open on Friday morning. I called 20 mins before they opened hoping to get my dog in since his back legs stopped working. I was surprised when they answered that early and where able to get him right in at 8. I had to carry him in the door but one of the workers saw me carrying him and held it open she even knew his name from when I called ahead. They got him right in a room. At this point I didn’t think my dog wasn’t going to make it through the day. The Vet came in and reassured me he could get him back to health. He took his time and explained everything to me. Everyone from the front desk, vet techs and the Dr where awesome. Highly recommend!!!!!!

I have had great experience with boarding department with my fur baby. Docs and techs show true concern over my pets when they have had to have treatment. Staff is also very helpful, friendly and answer my concerns. Phones are answered quickly by humans so you're not going through the horrible automated systems that everyone hates. Great place! Happy workers=Welcoming environment.

I have been going to Dunckel Veterinary hospital since 1990. I love this place. Everyone in there are very friendly and knowledgeable. I never wait more than 10 minutes to get in. It's easy to make your appointments, they always work with you. They do follow up care , calling you to check on your pet. Always very clean. Dr Wright is the best. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants excellent care and to feel like family.

Took my dog in for an exam, visibly had hard time breathing, was given an antibiotic. Doctor said if not better in 10 days, would take x rays. Technician called 4 days later, I told her my dog wasn't much better if any. Was told it was important to take all her antibiotics. A week after she saw the vet she died. She was my best friend and I am devastated. Would I ever recommend Dunckel? Never

I agree with Sarah P and Leah D. This place is a rip off, and not only that you have to wait forever to be seen. We have never ever been seen on time; I would say the least amount of time we had to wait was a 1/2 hour but 9 out of 10 times it was at least an hour, if not longer. We took our dog in 2 weeks ago for an infection, she finished her antibiotics this past Monday and now she is having the same problem as before. I called Dunckel last night and the receptionist said that "because it has been so long she would need to come back in." SERIOUSLY!!! Less than 2 weeks is a long time??!!! I can guarantee that I will not step another foot in Dunckel Veterinary Hospital again. I read a post from somebody else about how they sent a sympathy card when her cat died; hate to be a "spoil sport" but EVERY vet does that!

Secondly, the place is immaculately clean. Third, the staff is fabulous (just watch out for the receptionists, they are strictly business only).They communicate via email, if desired, and have a web based chart system for your pets, so you can log on to their website and see everything related to your pet and even send notes to the doctor asking questions. Very cool!They also offer grooming and other services, but having cats I don't use any of those.Their prices seemed reasonable to me.The owner is a graduate of the MSU Vet School. (gotta love the green and white S flying in the lobby! Thanks Dr. Dunckel!).Good people. Excellent pet care. 5 stars.

My dog Luna is a big overly excited girl who can't sit still to save her life. But when I took her in to get her shots and license when she was younger, the people at Dunckel were very patient and good with her. They helped ease her anxiety and took very good care of my girl.

I have had great experience with boarding department with my fur baby. Docs and techs show true concern over my pets when they have had to have treatment. Staff is also very helpful, friendly and answer my concerns. Phones are answered quickly by humans so you're not going through the horrible automated systems that everyone hates. Great place! Happy workers=Welcoming environment.

I luv the service staff is friendly n great quick and help animals that others won't I will b using the dental for my dog the offer so many other services as well i tried this place out due to only place local i could find that took care credit and also helped guinea pigs i will continue all my services for my other animals and needs stop in and take a peak its nice n clean and actually smells good n not like a normal vets office that i think stink they r quick at gettin u in for emergencies as well the front desk reception girls r all super nice i dealt with jessica who was super friendly and talked a lot to my very social daughter thanks for the welcoming feeling i got from u guys keep up the good work

I have been going to Dunckel Veterinary hospital since 1990. I love this place. Everyone in there are very friendly and knowledgeable. I never wait more than 10 minutes to get in. It's easy to make your appointments, they always work with you. They do follow up care , calling you to check on your pet. Always very clean. Dr Wright is the best. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants excellent care and to feel like family.

Took my dog in for an exam, visibly had hard time breathing, was given an antibiotic. Doctor said if not better in 10 days, would take x rays. Technician called 4 days later, I told her my dog wasn't much better if any. Was told it was important to take all her antibiotics. A week after she saw the vet she died. She was my best friend and I am devastated. Would I ever recommend Dunckel? Never

I love this practice! A clean, welcoming environment is always important to me when trusting someone with my pets. On top of that, the staff is SUPER friendly! I highly recommend Dunckel :)

I agree with Sarah P and Leah D. This place is a rip off, and not only that you have to wait forever to be seen. We have never ever been seen on time; I would say the least amount of time we had to wait was a 1/2 hour but 9 out of 10 times it was at least an hour, if not longer. We took our dog in 2 weeks ago for an infection, she finished her antibiotics this past Monday and now she is having the same problem as before. I called Dunckel last night and the receptionist said that "because it has been so long she would need to come back in." SERIOUSLY!!! Less than 2 weeks is a long time??!!! I can guarantee that I will not step another foot in Dunckel Veterinary Hospital again. I read a post from somebody else about how they sent a sympathy card when her cat died; hate to be a "spoil sport" but EVERY vet does that!

Secondly, the place is immaculately clean. Third, the staff is fabulous (just watch out for the receptionists, they are strictly business only).They communicate via email, if desired, and have a web based chart system for your pets, so you can log on to their website and see everything related to your pet and even send notes to the doctor asking questions. Very cool!They also offer grooming and other services, but having cats I don't use any of those.Their prices seemed reasonable to me.The owner is a graduate of the MSU Vet School. (gotta love the green and white S flying in the lobby! Thanks Dr. Dunckel!).Good people. Excellent pet care. 5 stars.
