I am so glad I took my cat to Vet Select in Dearborn! The staff was very warm and welcoming and did a wonderful job taking care of my kitty! They told me all the treatments they suggest to get him feeling better, as well as additional treatments they recommend in the future. They even printed up an estimate of how much everything would cost and gave me the option to pick and choose which procedures I would like to have done. And they give you $25 off if you’re a new patient! Amazing staff, they are very professional and friendly! I’ll never go anywhere else! Read Less

Dr Shrier is a good vet that helped with the loss of our first dog Magglio, but I just couldn't keep reconciling their prices. I had a quote for a removal of papillomas on my new pup's lip and biopsy of them come in at $700-$800. I went to a new vet and they quoted only $200-$300. Also, not having walk-ins and having to resort to even more expensive emergency vets in an emergency is really a let down. Read Less

Vet Select is absolutely the finest vet office you could encounter. Dr. Schrier is caring, knowledgeable, compassionate and above all gives of her time with your pet. We have been clients for many years and we travel some miles for her expert care but would not consider changing venues even though there are two vet hospitals extremely close to us. The most important aspect of the visits to Dr. Schrier is that our Airedales have always been happy going in to see her and be examined by her. The atmosphere is quiet and calm even when they are very busy which is important for the pet being examined. All in all, my husband and I are extremely grateful for having Dr. Schrier as part of our "medical" family and Tess is too! Our visit last week, March 1 was again a very positive visit with Dr. Schrier and the care exhibited by the staff outstanding. Thank you Vet Select Read Less

Please read why I am rating this 1 star. I spoke to the receptionist on the phone about Tapeworm medication. I was not sure if they were able to sell it over the counter, neither was she. She was getting fairly irritated by the fact that I was adamant on knowing what my cats have. I have ran a cat rescue, and I'm fairly certain when it comes to different things that can happen to cats. She reluctantly asks the vet, who is in with clients, about this medication. She responds back with they cannot. I said that's fine, I was looking for a closer vet instead of traveling to Ann Arbor. I ask her the prices for the vet fee, and then asked if each of them would have to stool-sampled since they share a litter box. Regardless, Tapeworm is transmitted by fleas and eating other animals who have it. She got extremely rude with me and said she had already asked the vet a question and was not going to continue interrupting her. I asked her if she could write my number down and call back whether it be today, or tomorrow, and let me know so I could make the appointment. I wasn't going to pay for a stool sample for 4 cats individually when only one would need tested - so that's a legit question to ask someone when vet costs are expensive. Her response was, "you know what, hold on." and she put me on hold. She was extremely rude. I called back to hear her name, and hopefully I have the right person. Dear Lindsey, This is your job. If you do not like answering questions for others who are calling a business for a certain need - do not take a job. Go back to school, earn a degree, and then you can be the veterinarian instead of the receptionist. You were extremely rude, inconsiderate, and out of line for someone who took on a role to be a receptionist. Your attitude will not get you far in life, and I seriously hope that your place of employment disciplines you for this. All it will take is for a few more people to experience your bad attitude and VetSelect Animal Hospital of Dearborn will eventually lose business. Unbelievable.Read Less

My family has been going to Vet Select in Dearborn for years, so naturally when I adopted my first pet there was no question where I would be going. They are compassionate, personable, caring and knowledgeable and you don't get the feeling they are trying to take you for every last dollar. Dr S. really breaks everything down and what treatment is truly needed and what are add ons and preferred methods. When I walk in I know they know who I am and my pet(not just because I am on the schedule). I feel like they really treat my pet like their own.  They also don't forget about your lost loved fur babies either.  I've been there during the regular check-ups which are quick and reasonable and I've been there during stressful times when my fur babies have been sick. During the stressful times  Dr. S is so compassionate and thorough. I have been living 25 minutes outside of Dearborn for the past few years and I still only go to Vet Select Dearborn. Other places may be more convenient but it has never once crossed my mind to go anywhere else. I'd recommend them and have done so hand down. Read Less

I woke up today to a sick kitty. To avoid being a little TMI there were a lot of messiness from the tummy area and some blood. Needless to say I. FREAKED. OUT. She is my baby after all.I usually take her to the Vetselect on Warren Ave in Dearborn Heights but they are closed on Thursdays so their phone directed me to the Dearborn location. A very lovely gal on the line was incredibly patient as my freaked out self started rambling about miss Penny's symptoms. She calmed me down and said they were able to squeeze us in for a 3pm appointment which I sincerely appreciated. I sat biting my nail for the next few hours.Since I'd never been to this location I had no idea where to park. It's behind the building, FYI. I ended up parking to the side and had quite the haul to the back door (which is the only entrance). So if you go cut down the alley to get to the back. They took us right back to a little room that was clean and comfortable. The nurse came in and asked a bunch of questions, took her temp and weighed her, all very gently and friendly. When the vet came in she did a thorough exam and deduced that little Penny was just sick with a tummy bug. WHEW. She presented me some treatment options, one more invasive than the other (to make sure that it WAS only a tummy bug) the other which was a little more chill. I asked her her opinion and she told me that she recommended the more conservative of the two which is what we went with. They gave kitty a shot, some antibiotics to take home, and some probiotics and bland food to take home as well. By the time we got home Penny was trying to eat my food off my plate so I guess she was feeling better! The vet, whose name I am unfortunately blanking on (will update with it later) was VERY sweet, gentle, and calming. I actually loved her so much that I think I'm going to change over and see her full time. I sincerely appreciated them fitting us in and taking care of my little one with the utmost care. Prices were fairly reasonable and the staff was incredibly nice. I couldn't have asked for a better scenario during such a stressful situation. Read Less
