**DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE**
I made an appointment for grooming due to my normal groomer being booked for the week and needing to have my dogs, (2 Pomeranians) groomed before company arrives this weekend. My appointment/drop off time was 9:30am. I dropped my dogs off, discussed with the groomer what to do with them, (just shaved them down and gave them a bath, nothing fancy), she told me they'd be done "by the afternoon" and asked if I had any time constraints. I replied that I did not, and that afternoon sounded good.
Afternoon, to most people, especially when their animals are dropped off early in the morning is 1:00-2:00 timeframe right? Apparently not. At 3:30 I call for an update on my dogs. The receptionist was like speaking to wall paper. Completely unfriendly and rude when I asked why it was taking so incredibly long? She told me they'd be ready by 4:30. Great. Another hour? 7 hours to groom my dogs? No... This means that for the majority of the time they were kept in a kennel, alone, without water, and without being let out to relieve themselves.
I arrived at 4:20 and requested to speak with the groomer. I began explaining to the receptionist while I was waiting that this situation is unacceptable. The owner of the center, and the in-house veterinarian Dr. Thimming then comes to the desk to address me. I explain my concerns and advise that I am a first time visitor and have had a bad experience. He responds with, "well, she told you they'd be done in the afternoon" I tried to explain as I did above that they've been here since 9:30am. I asked if they had been let out at all? Of course he said yes sensing my irritation, but we all know no one let them out. I continued to explain that I do not appreciate anything that happened today and that I will not be returning. I added that if I am charged for this horrific service, I will be filing a dispute of the charge with my bank as soon as possible. The extremely rude, and now visibly agitated, Dr. Thimming took a step forward towards me as if to assert his masculinity and said, "Look, a service was provided to you, the groomer did a great job, and you will pay for that service".
I smiled, and agreed that yes, I will pay for this service, but reiterated I will be disputing the charges with my bank as soon as they post to my account. He said, "sounds good to me" and disappeared in his office.
I left. drove the 4 mile distance back to my house where by dogs immediately urinated, by how long it took for them to finish, it was clear they had a full bladder. I brought them in the house where they continued to fight over the water bowl like they couldn't get enough, and then immediately after starting signaling they needed to go out again. I took them out, and they both pooped at the same time as soon as they hit the grass. All of this in the first few minutes I was home. But sure! You let them out, sure! They had water!
My husband is a US Marine and is away for training. We are stationed here for the next few years. I was trying to get something accomplished today and instead I was intimidated, and bullied. My dogs were neglected in a kennel for 7 straight hours with none of the basic abilities such as relieving themselves and having access to water. This is PATHETIC. And I will be reporting this to all other outlets in hopes someone takes the time to read and it decides to take their animals to a better location that can be trusted to keep their animals healthy and safe.
