Had a good experience, but they pushed a dental cleaning on us for my senior cat and she has not been the same since being put under for her cleaning, she did have a tooth removed due to the state of her teeth, but she also has been recently diagnosed as a diabetic(in the last few months). Up until yesterday, I would have given Dorr Vet Clinic 4 stars or more. However, after having had my very sick rescue cat into the vet for dental surgery, and spending over $400, my cat stopped eating and was screaming in pain. So I took him back in and he was diagnosed with severe stomatitis. Dorr Vet clinic suggested full extraction of my cat’s teeth, however Dr. Casey did not feel comfortable performing the surgery so we had to schedule a partial extraction of only the badly infected teeth. I scheduled the procedure and had my husband bring him in to the vet. After being told the expense could range from $400-$900, my husband became frustrated and told them his wife (myself) would have to make the decision regarding the price. After he left, Dr. Casey called me personally and told me she would not be treating my cat because my husband was rude to the staff. I asked and pretty much pleaded with her to treat my severely sick cat that day as planned and I would personally deal with the vet on all matters. I told her I had personally brought my pets to Dorr Vet clinic years without incident and never had a negative experience with the staff. She simply said no, she would not treat my very sick cat. Dr. Casey told me to pick up my cat and find a new veterinarian. Clearly Dr. Casey makes her decisions based on emotion and not what is best for her patients. She willingly let a very sick cat leave her office untreated when she knew she could deal with me on a very professional basis. Now my sick cat cannot have his dental procedure for another week. Terrible example of patient care. I would have thought Dr. Casey’s love for animals would have changed the outcome here, but I guess I was wrong. Read Less

Very happy with the care our dog Wrigley gets at the Clinic. Although he seems to be angry at most people he is very responsive to the vets. I think he realizes they are there to help him. Can't say he loves Dorr Veterinary but Mom and Dad do!! Read Less

I've been going here for about 6 years. The last two routine visits I've had different docs, and the last one left me feeling irritated. The "bedside manner" was junk. The overall tone was condescending. Just based on that visit, I was already thinking about switching to another clinic. Today, I had an urgent concern that needed to be addressed with my dog having diarrhea. They do not do fecal tests on site, so today I took my dog somewhere else. Because it's Friday, I wouldn...'t get my results until Monday. The other vet did the test herself, and diagnosed the issue while I was still in office. She told me that this issue could potentially get worse without antibiotic intervention to the point of hemorrhaging in their intestines. It's ridiculous to wait for those results when the vets should be able to and can do this on site. It's just asinine to outsource this service, and make the animals wait and suffer to get a diagnosis. So for $100, we have an answer and she has already had her first dose of meds before I could even get an appointment at Dorr. When I asked around, it seems like there are more vets that test on site. I recently took my 15 month old golden retriever to Dorr Vet Clinic and had a great experience. They gave us great advice on how to treat her for hip dysplasia and weren't at all pushy and didn't try to guilt us into services or products we weren't interested in. My dog loved the staff and they loved her as well. I highly recommend this office. Read Less

We LOVE Dorr Vet Clinic! We have been taking out pets there for a few years and wouldn't go anywhere else - even with the 35 minute drive it's worth it! Dr. Chris is a wonderful vet and is totally a cat whisperer!!! My 15 year old girl who recently passed liked him a lot and my new kitten must've been so calm around him she started to fall asleep in the room! (which kind of shocked me as she's a kitten - they're energetic!). She let him pet her and examine her with little fuss! We also have a three year old lab/malamute mix boy. He got fixed when he was a puppy and they did a great job - even that night it hardly fazed him. He was healed in virtually no time. And when my 15 year old cat Sugar, who'd been a life long patient there, crossed the rainbow bridge, Dr. Chris and staff sent us a very sweet sympathy card and note. My dog Stella loves it here. Dr. Chris and his team are amazing. Stella has had a run in with cancerous tumors throughout the last year or so, and Dr. Chris has been with us through it all. I am so thankful for the help that Dorr Vet Clinic has offered my family. They are kind, affordable, and knowledgeable. They want the very best for you and your furry family and that is obvious through the care that they provide. My kitten, Boots, and I absolutey love DVC. Boots just had surgery 2 days ago, and you can't even tell. They took amazing care of her, and happily answered all our calls checking up on her! Had an issue with my girl Cookie last weekend and brought her in Friday morning as they opened. They did a quick evaluation, and found the issue. Doctor got in and saw us immediately. Didn't wait 5 minutes. Got it taken care or, and we were out the door with meds, and steroids for under $125. For what we had done, I was told some places charge 150-275 to be done and taken care of. Can't believe I have never posted a review. I've used Dorr Vet Clinic since Ames and Deb first took over the business and 5 stars is not enough! Mack knows that if he is in the car he is on his way to see his friends. Every member of the staff knows me and my dog by name and they bend over backwards to accommodate me (because I NEVER plan ahead). My last dog passed away at the kennel. He was old and they took such good care of him. They called me immediately and kept him until I got there the next day and then I walked into the clinic everyone in the room burst into tears with me. We've been to other facilities in our other animal lives but never have we seen the caring, knowledge and professional treatment of patients that we have experienced here. It's obvious that all who work here are indeed animal lovers. Staff is all friendly, caring, funny and efficient, whether it is with yearly checks, grooming, kenneling, treating illness or with giving compassionate care when saying goodbye. I also admire their care of strays and the care they take into finding good homes for the animals who need them. (And for the animals we have been able to love thanks to their intervention.) We always say even if we had to move to the other side of the state, we'd still bring our "kids" to Dr. Ames and the crew for care. They are the best! Read Less
