Vca Farmington Hills Animal Hospital

Farmington Hills, Michigan
General Info
VCA Farmington Hills Animal Hospital has a long-standing history of serving the area and providing attentive, one-on-one veterinary care. VCA Farmington Hills Animal Hospital renders veterinary services across Farmington Hills and adjacent Michigan areas while crafting therapeutic care models which subtly adapt to pet temperament and owner communication approaches. The initial consultations aim to establish a comfort zone for pets, providing ample time for them to explore the environment and exhibit any signs of anxiety or fear. Before any hands-on examination, the veterinary team observes subtle cues such as eye movements, tail positions, gait changes, and pressure responses. Physical checks involve joint movements, hydration status (weight), gum and coat features, and temperature patterns. The method necessitates capturing morning routines, sleep patterns, voice habits, and recent behavioral changes. VCA Farmington Hills Animal Hospital provides medical care for sudden health issues and surgical procedures, targeting seasonal health changes and chronic conditions. Support (laboratory testing, imaging referrals, infection prevention and elderly animal protocols, emotionally informed hospital recovery checklists). The setup of the plans guarantees that information is delivered in a manner that does not overwhelm pet owners, especially those with several animals or complex medical situations. Communication is key. Additionally, reports are sent out after every visit, and follow-up appointments are scheduled based on the pet’s progress instead of using calendar reminders. The training helps owners to understand the signs of regression and readiness to move forward. Long-term care includes pacing, choice scheduling, and reassurance. VCA Farmington Hills Animal Hospital provides veterinary services throughout Michigan by utilizing both animal behavior and family input as the basis of the consistent care plans needed to achieve an elevated level of compassion from start to finish. The practice offers various services such as allergy testing, boarding, prescription medications, ultrasound, and ophthalmology. The treatments allow the pet to receive comprehensive support at every life stage, from routine preventative care to advanced and sophisticated medical procedures. Pet owners note the team’s experience, communication style, and ability to explain medical decisions clearly and compassionately. Regardless if the case concerns an elderly pet or a sudden health emergency, the team strives to build long-term relationships. The clinic also plays an important role in educating the pet owners and disseminating information on preventive care. VCA Farmington Hills Animal Hospital’s participation in the local community enhances the basis of responsible pet ownership. New and returning clients also note how well the clinic continues to develop its practice in line with the most current professional trends.

Our VCA that was only a mile down the road had closed / consolidated which is good there because the VET at that location seemed to brush off all our questions and seemed like she did not even care about our family members. This VCA was about ~20 miles away or so and it was worth the drive (even with a crazy lab who persistently tries to get to the driver seat)! Dr. Shocsnider (spelling / sorry); is the friendliest person you will ever meet! She has a kind and compassionate heart and is very accommodating and knowledgeable. She has a good staff that supports her. Now that we moved even further away our drive is maybe 45 miles away but we still go there for routine check-ups or non serious issues. I wish they had an office closer with the same staff; so hard to find a good doctor who is not after the $$$. Read Less
