I took my cat Hector here today for his yearly check up and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The vet was doing emergency surgery on an owl so we had to wait a little longer than expected but that’s ok. When it was our turn, Dr Ham was full of information about my cats health. These are some great people. They were always great with my dogs. They are also some of the most compassionate people you'll ever meet. My girlfriend and i lost our dogs in a house fire early in December and we took them there to be cremated. They were honestly so genuine and compassionate to our situation. I took a feral cat to Morrison's to see if he was fixed or chipped. He was neither:( They did it for no charge! Other vets that I called wanted $40 and said he had to have his shots before they would check him, even MHS! Just for a tail lift??? The counter people at Morrison's were just wonderful and the vet was so friendly and helpful. Dr. Michelle Smith-Arkens has been my vet for over 20 years (3 large dogs and 2 cats) . I cannot say enough great things about her... just a small example of her care and concern-- Yesterday I called with an issue regarding my 18yr old kitty, Shelby, who had blood in her urine that I just noticed--called around 3pm, the Doc called me back within 30mins and offered to stay past her planned departure time to allow me to bring Shelby in for an exam and likely an antibiotic and a steroid injection. I did not have to "wait until tomorrow" or instead go to an emergency vet. As always, Shelby received loving care and is already on the mend. As always, the ladies up front were great, along with Dr. Smythe. Brought my dog, Goose, because he had been having hip issues and he wasn't on his best behavior because of the pain. They handled it great, got him into a room so he could calm down away from the noise. Many vets will try and get you to have the X-rays, blood tests, etc... Whether needed or not. Not here! The team at Morrison are the kindest and most helpful vet team I've encountered yet!! My first visit was impromptu due to my famle Husky being injured in a small dog fight, I was told that they normally only take by apt but the lady at the desk was able to get my dog taken care of immediately that very day within minutes. That in itself made me want to come back! That same visit before leaving I scheduled an annual check up for my female and my male Husky within the next few weeks. Today was only my second time ever being there, my female dogs second as well (and she remembered the staff and was actually excited to be there!!!), and my male dogs first time. Even only being the second visit ever, I had never been more pleased and felt "like family" upon arrival all thru the departure. I was even granted a wish to hear my female dogs heart beat and I just felt so much joy from this whole visit!! You can really feel they're true love for the animals, on top of understanding the concern from the parents of those animals. Its such a relief to know for a fact that my babies are being taken care of by a team that feel the same needs and love for them as what I would feel and give to them!! They got me in within an hour with my cat Magglio. I saw a very nice nurse and Dr. Ham, who was very nice and understanding. I was nervous because my sweet kitty had weeping eyes like he was fighting a virus or something and they all just made us feel welcome and at ease. The ladies at the front desk are very nice as well. Thank God for Dr Arkens!! My allergy dog has NEVER felt as good or done as well as when we came to see her after 2 other vets!! She got him on the path to clearer health. For me to only have to take him to the vet 3 times a year...as opposed to 3 times a month, she's a miracle worker!! The staff is very kind to his needs and always treats him (and me) well!! Our families have been bringing dogs here for years.  We currently bring both our dogs.Staff is very friendly and helpful.  We have never had issues making appointments, and they are always able to squeeze us in if something urgent pops up.Dr Arkens is who we usually see. We trust her and she has always cared for our dogs.  Cost here is in line with most vets, and is very fair and reasonable. Front room is fairly open and has seat benches with space underneath that dogs can "hide" to feel more comfortable.  We have never had issues with the waiting area being too crowded, and being too close to other anxious dogs.Overall, I would recommend his to anyone on the west side of metro Detroit.  We since moved further away from the vet to Northville, but still make the drive out here. One more month and we get our year check up. Princess who has diabetes is doing great. She has been on a schedule for a year now and we finally seem to have it down. Spencer is a perfect little dog. We have had so many rescue dogs with problems in the past that Spencer or a rare gift to us. The only problem with your dogs being healthy is we don't get to see our friends at Morrison that often. And believe me that is a loss. They are wonderful. They all love us the patients and parents so much and show us in so many ways. You are never a stranger even if you haven't seen them in a year. They remember you and your pet because you are family. If your looking for a place that will treat your pet like you do this is the place. We love them all, of them. My vet,  Dr.  Kevin Smyth,  is the most amazing vet ever.  I started seeing him when he saved my dying kitty 13 years ago,  the ER vet took every dime I had (I even spent my rent money)  and sent me packing with a dying cat when I ran out.  Dr.  Smyth offered an inexpensive alternative which cost the last 40.00 I had to my name.  I explained that if it didn't work I wouldn't have money left to eauthanize my sweet Casey, and he offered to eauthanize at no charge so I could have a shot at saving him.  It worked,  we had another great eighteen months together. When I brought my Ani in today in need of surgery to remove a foreign object from her stomach he gave me the most conservative option and sent me to a specialist who had the equipment to try it.  I am so grateful for his service and highly recommend him! Dr. Ham and all of the Morrison staff were extremely pleasant, thorough and patient with our dogs. We have three dogs and they are a bit of a handful and everyone at Morrison was nothing but kind and caring with our boys. Dr. Ham explained their health in detail, as well as touching on important information regarding their breeds and possible things to keep our eyes on. Additionally, our dogs loved him and the entire staff. For all 3 dogs it costed about $480. This included 6 months of heart worm protection which was about $130. They ran a couple blood tests and stool test as well and let us know before we left that everything was negative.I highly recommend taking your pets here. Read Less

They are very sweet to our dog, and the doctors have been able to answer all of my questions and give good advice. The staff is always friendly too. LOVE THIS PLACE!There isn't one non-friendly face in this office.  By far the most helpful and trustworthy veterinarians that I know... they've always taken good care of our pets, and helped my family tremendously when we lost our beloved German Shepherd years ago.  My family has seen Dr. Arkens and Dr. Smyth when they were back in Dearborn at Caputo Animal Hospital, and now we take our pets here to Morrison, even though it's quite a hike from the Milford area.  I now take my dog here, and Finnegan LOVES Dr. Smyth.  He is never stressed out when I have to take him in, and he loves all the vet techs (and he's a very skittish dog!).  Cannot say enough about this place!
