I had been going to this clinic for several years so when the emergency vet clinic requested a one week follow up with my primary vet, I called to schedule the appointment. The front desk personnel was very RUDE on the phone and said they couldn't make an appointment for 3-4 weeks and they aren't accepting new patients. I explained I was an existing customer / patient with many pets over the past decade plus. She then set an appointment but couldn't guarantee my dog could be seen for a follow-up and receive yearly vaccines both on the same appointment because I'm being scheduled for a 10 minute time slot appointment. I asked why I should be expected to make 2 appointments for the same dog to be seen for a follow-up and have yearly vaccines? She responded very RUDELY with because that's all they have available is the 10 minute appointment and vaccines would take 30 minutes. A few days later I received a phone call from Pytel himself telling me to take my 3 dogs to a different veterinary clinic as his receptionist claimed I was rude to her. This clinic use to be good but it seems over the years they have started to care more about quantity of appointments and less about actual care for the animals. Read Less

Dr. Covert and Dr. Pytel take great care of our pets. We unfortunately had to put some down due to failing health. They allowed us to come in right as they closed so no one else would be there and we're super sweet and apologetic. They made a hard situation seem bearble. Read Less

Our cat broke his leg and needed it amputated. This veterinary clinic accepted us immediately and worked with us on the price, and after the surgery they werre very helpful and clear on the instructions of how to medicate and take care of him until the wound healed.. The people that work there are truly amazing! Dr. Covert is patient, kind and so good to my little Curly boy! I have vets that are a lot closer but I choose to drive 25 min just bc of him as well as the rest of the staff~:) they are all kind caring and very nice to deal with. Great Vet, Dr. Pytel is amazing as is the rest of the staff. Very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. They take care of all animals great and small except horses. They are one of the few that I know of that take care of goats as well. Read Less

I have been taking my dogs here for many years, and they have compassionately seen me through their entire lifespans. I have had some difficult to handle dogs, and Dr Covert's expertise and competence is outstanding. He has been with me through celebrations, humor, and tears. Other staff have been available when he was not, and their help was most appreciated also. Competence, compassion, judgment. moderation and specialty access if needed. Unfortunately I don't live close enough to go here anymore but let me tell you I have never had a better experience than I did with Dr Covert!! He was so great with my dogs, and the only doc that my male would allow near him! So sad he isn't my vet anymore. And all the staff is great! Would absolutely recommend!! Read Less

We have been going to pytel's for 9+ years now. They recently saved the life of one of our youngest cats. She's recovering beautifully. They've also saved one of our other cats as well. We have been taking our pig LouLou here since we've had her and we love the place. Everyone is very friendly. LouLou probably wouldn't say the same thing if she could put her two cents in though since every time she goes there she's getting a shot or hooves clipped and the last time she was there she was spayed. Pytel Vet is the best! I have seen both Dr. Pytel and Dr. Covert and while I do prefer Dr. Covert, Dr. Pytel is still very good. They are very reasonably priced. Just a good vet all around! highly recommend. Read Less

One of my dogs, a lab mix (Tanner), needed surgery to replace a ligament. Dr. Pytel performed the surgery himslef instead of farming it out. The results were excellent and the price was about half what I was quoted from other vets.Read Less
