We have been bringing all of our fur babies to Briarwood for years. Most recently, I brought my 20 year old 'kitten' for a wellness check. Dr. Amy was so gentle with my cat and even took the time to do the simple things like running the sink water for him to drink from (his FAVORITE activity). She spent quality time explaining everything to me and answered all of my questions. She truly treated my 'baby' as if he were her own. Briarwood does have some of the best vets and diagnostic equipment,  however their practice has out grown them.  I am one of their original clients but most the time now I take my animals elsewhere.   You can't get an appt. anymore.  If it's something that can wait,  that's one thing,  however if it's an urgent medical issue you can't usually get in at all. Also, The waiting room is too small and now overcrowded.  This puts animals that may not interact well with other animals or people into too close proximity. Sad Read Less

Briarwood Veterinary Hospital is the best in town.  I had a very bad experience with the owner/vet at another one (also near Walmart as the other commenter noted).  A very unkind man who was less than gentle with my 16 week old kitten.  I started taking that kitten (who is now 7 years old and my other cat to Briarwood.  Wow - what a great team they have there.  Dr. Joe and Dr. Amy are so kind and gentle, as are their staff.  They are both so good about calling to follow up on how the cats are doing after I've brought them in for an ailment.  Dr. Joe will even leave his cell phone number if I need to call about the cats!  Their prices are reasonable and competitive.  They are not aggressive with costly treatments and always give good advice and options.  I would give them more than five stars if I could! Very happy with this place. Took our new cat here for his first check-up and some concerns about worms. All the staff was exceptionally helpful, polite, and caring.Our vet was very knowledgeable and sweet with our kitty; she recommended simply doing the worm treatment without testing, as it cannot hurt and is cheaper that way. They could have charged us to run the test, then treatment, but the test alone costs more than the treatment. They're not out to get money, only to help animals. Woot.Prices are reasonable. Facility is clean and looks cute. Small parking lot, but doesn't seem to be an issue. They do not have a surgical laser, but they do have some other kind of laser that is used to help speed recovery... not sure I quite understand, but the bottom line is that they do not do laser declaws. Extremely kind and caring group here. I have been bringing my pets here for about 12 years and everyone always makes us feel comfortable. Sometimes I think they are a bit pricey, but then who isn't these days? So, you need to get good service for your money and I do feel I get that here. I highly recommend them. Read Less

Can't say enough about Briarwood. Dr. Joe is the most caring vet we've ever met! Our little doggie was very sick with something like a concussion and Dr. Joe was always available via cell phone in case things turned during the nights while the dog was recovering.Since then we've taken all our pets to Briarwood. The other doctors and nurses on staff are very helpful, friendly and professional. One was even a Star Wars nerd which made our day!!Dr. Joe and his staff are very concious of the cost of vet vists and treatment and are always willing to work with patients and explain everything about their pets health.Couldn't be happier to find this place! so much better than another certain vet closer to Walmart.....jerks......
