If I could rate this business lower than a 1 Star, I’d stay in this site and forever rate them them a 0. After spending 3 days at this clinic getting correct medication for my cat, they sent me home with an unmixed prescription. 45 minutes of driving each way and they were the rudest staff I’d ever had the misfortune of working with. Don’t take your fur babies here, all they care about if business and money. They’re prices are so cheap because the medical staff can’t actually accurately diagnose what’s wrong. Read Less

My Mom, my ten year old Irish Terrier, and I relocated from Philly to GR two years ago. Poe, the dog’s sweet name, had suffered with Atypical Cushing’s Syndrome- likely of Hypothalamic etiology - which presented in a way any creature of empathy would shed a tear when he was “off meds”. Since he was geriatric, we declined the treatment for Cushing ‘s Proper, which induces adrenal apoptosis with harsh effects systemically. But Dr. Renshaw and I formed a very close working relationship regarding the inevitable deterioration and subsequent euthanasia. I spoke at least weekly with him towards the end. When he was euthanized, unlike some vets who utilize primarily a Nicotinic Nerve Agent to stop the heart after perhaps non infused benzodiazepine, resulting occasionally in animal distress, Renshaw first infused Ketamine, a vital-sign preserving, but strongly anxiolytic and also analgesic compound well before an overdose of Barbiturates to stop vital signs. This compassion was outstanding because not only is Renshaw physiologically highly skilled, but conjunctly has the gift of empathy. I would not go anywhere else. Read Less

Staff was friendly. The prices are affordable. They really spend a good amount of time looking at your animal and listening to what you have observed of their behavior. Not the typical in and out jackass that hardly checks out your pet and charges too much. Happy to say this is my cats primary vet. My mom has now switched from cat clinic north to animal clinic inc. We ADORE Dr. Gilroy and all the Animal Clinic team members! Let me begin by stating that my husband and I love our animals as fiercely as if they were our own flesh and blood. We consider them family and expect them to be treated as such by those with whom we entrust their health. All four of our absolutely amazing fur babies have unique medical needs that require special care. Balancing their needs is a challenge, and a labor of love. After researching and visiting several veterinary locations in and around Grand Rapids, we found the Animal Clinic provided the best "family practice" for every one of our purrrrfect children. The experienced staff know each of my family members by name, and can even recognize my voice when I call. We often need immediate medical attention for our babies due to their chronic health issues. Every single time I have called their office needing assistance, even when all appointment times were full, they found a way to create time for us. We are treated with respect and are attended to as if we were family. That speaks volumes, and is a tremendous testament to their values and integrity. No other veterinary team besides the Animal Clinic has been able to provide my family with the care it requires. Dr. Gilroy and Dr. Renshaw help us to meet the many needs of our babies. There are no words strong enough to express the depth and breadth of my gratitude for their unwavering commitment to the health and wellbeing of my kitties. I brought my dog in to be put down. They made an awful situation even worse. I've brought all 4 of my animals to them, but when they put my dog down they where incredibly cold and heartless. They didn't give me any time alone with him after.....they just gave me a trash bag.....a trash bag!!!!! Heartless humans. Also my dog hates them, they handled him poorly. They missed diagnosed my dog and charged me the office visit and unnecessary medications and then wanted to charge me additionally for a visit to insure infection wouldn't set in! Very poor customer service and your pet would be better off elsewhere. I told the vet she had an issue with her jaw and she said it was her back! It was a tooth! Read Less

My first visit at Animal Clinic was on a Saturday when my cat was extremely sick and needed to be seen. My old vet along with 3 or 4 other clinics I called had no openings, not even for emergencies. However, Animal Clinic was able to get me in within a couple of hours and provided amazing care. Ever since I began going to them, they have always been able to get my cats in that same day if there is an emergency - which you won't find anywhere else. Even if they have no openings, they will find a way to get you seen. They truly do care! I love all of the staff and their prices are great. The veterinarians go above and beyond and truly know how to diagnose and treat your animals. Absolutely love Animal Clinic and would recommend them to anyone!!Read Less

Animal Clinic was there for me and my babies for years. My late Dioji had both of his knee surgeries there by Dr. Bennett and everything went so smoothly. I changed vets years ago to somewhere closer to my home, but when a friend called with a stray cat emergency on a Saturday and her own vet was closed I immediately thought of Animal Clinic. In an urgent situation recently I was unable to get my rabbit in to my regular vet and they recommended I come here. Dr. Renshaw was so caring and kind! Sadly, my bunny didn't make it and passed away a few days later. I called to say I no longer needed the meds that were on order.
