I have called this Vets office on two different occasions band have been talked to very rude over the phone and all I did was inquire about immunizations and my appointment time. I suspect that I am being treated bias by a paticular staff that refused to tell me her name. I will confirm today if my hunch is correct. May have to choose a different vet. Read Less

My boyfriend and I just adopted a new kitten and after a lot of research we finally decided on this place and I’m so glad we did! All of the staff was so friendly, empathetic, helpful, and kind. I didn’t feel like they were trying to rush us in and out, and they answered every single question we had. Dr. Saldivia was absolutely amazing with our new kitty, and even though the news she gave us wasn’t exactly what we wanted to hear, she did so in a soft and comforting way. I also really appreciate that they take the time to show you how to administer the medications they prescribe to your pet; I’ve been to vets before where they just send you on your way without even telling you how many times a day the animal needs their medicine. I have only been here 1 time with my 5 month old puppy, but we had a great experience. Also, the reason that I took her to this vet was because I got a very good referral from Doctor that lives in GR and takes her cats and dogs there. Being the initial visit, it was a bit of a longer appointment, but they told me that ahead of time on the phone. It was easy to get in - they had openings within a few days of when I called, and they have late hours as well! Bonus! We met with Dr. Saldiva who was very patient with our nervous dog, and patient with all of our questions and comments. She talked through a lot of minor issues we are having at home with her, gave us potty training tips, and separation anxiety tips. The tech was in the room with us the whole time "hugging" our dog on the exam table so that I didn't have to do it, which is what I'm used to. She did a very thorough exam of our baby and gave her the vaccines that she needed. It was a fairly nice place with a great staff. The Dr seemed to care so much about our little puppy and I trusted every bit of information she gave us. We will be moving our other 2 dogs to this vet - I am extremely impressed with them. And for as much as we had done, and left with, the price wasn't shocking to me, which is always a good thing. Only complaint is that they have a TINY parking lot, and it sits RIGHT on Kalamazoo Ave. Read Less

They always have time to squeeze my doggies in when they aren't feeling well. Dr. Pair is very knowledgeable and always explains every step of every process. I have two dogs with extreme anxiety, and she is always patient and understanding. I always leave there knowing that my babies have received the best care possible! I can't even begin to express my gratitude to the Animal Hospital of Kentwood. I recently began taking my new puppy here for all his puppy shots and checkups as well as being neutered. They did an excellent job throughout. But they really shone when my 13 year old cat began losing drastic amounts of weight. The vet felt a lump in his belly and scans showed advanced cancer. We made the difficult decision to let him pass with dignity and without any further suffering. Staff was so kind and caring, no one was judgemental even though I felt so guilty. They let me fill out all the paperwork in the privacy of a room and asked me what I was comfortable with and what I wanted done every step of the way. They even went so far as to bring him in a little quilt so he didn't have to lay on the cold table and they pet him with me. My cat passed peacefully, purring, surrounded by love, and I couldn't be more grateful for that gift. Today I received flowers on my doorstep and it was just such a kind and sweet gesture. Great place for boarding. My dogs seemed happier here than larger kennel. If you pay a small additional fee, they will give them a daily session of special attention for play, grooming and loving. They do require all shots be updated before coming. Their veterinary services are too high but the boarding is reasonable. Read Less

Came home from lunch and my pups face was swollen. Rushed my dog Bubba to animal hospital of kentwood. The staff were busy with other animals and still managed to put my dogs need into play. The staff treats my dog as if he were one of their own. They've seen him through routine checkups, dental problems, an emergency surgery, and most recently a hot spot. I brought my new puppy to Animal Hospital of Kentwood, for his pupy shots, and heartworm treatment. During our first visit the Vet, and her assistant both pressed me to subscribe to their "free vaccinations for life" program, which costs $80 dollars. I was hesitant initially, because it was our first visit, and I didn't know if I wanted to stick with this practice forever, but I eventually agreed and paid the $80. 4 weeks later I brought my puppy in for his next round of shots, and when I checked out the receptionist said. That will be $49.99 today." I said, we only came in for shots, and I paid for the "free vaccinations for life." The receptionist informed me that the $49.99 was for the examination. I said. we didn't come in for an exam, just shots. Her explanation was that they always "give an exam when they do vaccinations." I explained that I did not pay for "free shots for life with a $49.99 examination." This is an unethical business practice. They do not disclose the exam fee. Read Less

They then find a slot for me to go in because of the mistake and I get there and they say they need to reschedule me because he is a new patient. After trying four different veterinarian facilities around town my wife and I decided on The Animal Hospital of Kentwood. We are a multi-cat and one dog family. Of course we love our pets and take their care and well being as seriously as we would our own. We have found the Doctors and the entire staff to be very helpful, friendly, compassionate and knowledgeable. These folks really do live up to their mission statement. We have a kitty that had to go in a few months back. He was on an IV and had to stay for over a week. Every day after work we would stop in and they would let us see him. It was just like you would visit someone in a hospital! It was a warm and loving experience. He recovered, got to come home and is doing fine. We have also adopted a baby kitten from their cat adoption program (she’s a sweetie!). We are glad to have found our “Veterinarian Family” and we would recommend The Animal Hospital of Kentwood to anyone seeking a Veterinarian to care for their beloved pets. HAD OUR DOGS IN BOARDING FOR TWO WEEKS DURING THE HOLIDAYS. WE CALLED 9 MONTHS PER BOARDING FOR BOARDING QUOTES. AFTER WE PICKED OUR DOGS UP, THEY OVER CHARGED US $100 MORE. OUR DOGS HAD BOTH LOST UP TO FIVE POUNDS EACH, AND WERE IN VERY POOR CONDITION WITH DIARRHEA. MANAGEMENT WAS NO HELP, AND DID NOT WANT TO REFUND OUR $100 IN OVERCHARGE. MANAGEMENT WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, AND DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANY FAMILY! Read Less
