I suggest Eastown Vet to everyone, I was referred to them by a friend and have been incredibly impressed. Everyone I have interacted with has been so accommodating and kind. At our last visit my cat was feeling extra anxious, and they went above and beyond to make him comfortable. When I had to leave him there overnight for surgery, I knew he was in good hands. The exam room assistants have been great at handling him when he was given his shots, and were patient when showing me how to clip his nails. We have seen Dr. Happel, Dr. Keane, and Dr. Tittle did surgery, each were very knowledgeable and personable. To those that say they are expensive, yes, they are not cheap, but my pet is part of my family, and deserves nothing but the best. You get what you pay for, and they are worth every penny. Read Less

I have brought my dog to Eastown Vet Clinic for over a year and always appreciate their excellent treatment of my dog. He has always had great experiences here and they have done a good job of discussing the costs associated with any procedures or treatments at the beginning of the appointment. I also appreciate that when I was having some behavior issues they had a trainer on staff who could do at home appointments to help us work through the behaviors. Do you love your pet? Of course you do! Well I know I do, and that's why I have been coming here for about 2 years now. I have two dogs enrolled and won't be going anywhere else. Here's why:I had an emergency visit they squeezed me in for and were super attentive & seemed just as concerned as I was.They are always timely and we are seen right at our appointment time (unlike most human doctors). They show you what you will be paying for upfront. BEWARE! It can be a bit pricey, but they honestly give you a reviews of what you "need" and you can opt out of some things if you don't feel like it's imperative to your pup. The doctors and nurses remember my dogs and ask genuinely how they are doing. They are professional, knowledgable, and extremely apt to letting you know exactly what they are doing, why, and why they are offering you specific ointments, medicines, etc.So if you love your dog as much as I do, there really is no other place you need to go! Been bringing my older cat here for five years and always had a great experience. The vets and assistants are pro-active and they truly love animals. Charlotte always gets cooed over and even though she's always a bit stressed when we first come in the door, she relaxes in their care. Scheduling can be done conveniently online. Highly recommend! Pros:-Friendly and courteous front desk staff -Convenient scheduling-Grooming services were pretty good.Cons:-Way too heavy handed on the upsell. (They suggested a number of unnecessary tests for what turned out to be a minor medical issue and this is even after we pushed back. I don't want worrying about being oversold when I have ill pet.)-Pricing is a little high compared to other local vets.We're going to stick to grooming services and take our pet to a different provider for  medical issues. The staff was nice enough, but you got the impression that me being there was an inconvenience to them. It is not that they were busy with important stuff, cause, she was back on her phone texting after getting my information. Thats not so bad, but when I saw the doctor, she was truly offended when she told me that getting my dogs teeth work done would cost $1000-1200 and maybe more, and I told her that I could not afford that. I asked what my other options were, and she had no lower cost option. I'm sorry but I guess I am not the typical customer with a bottomless checkbook. He ended up needing several teeth pulled, and a cleaning, but that was performed at another clinic for $350. I don't understand how she is 3x as much. It is always worth getting a second opinion. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Tittle and everyone at Eastown Veterinary Clinic. Everyone's love of animals is palpable the second you step in - the gals behind the counter happily greet us and our fur-baby each time, for instance. We had a routine follow-up (after a smashing success of a first appt, where Dr. Tittle helped us solve our cat's inappropriate urination problem), and our visit was massively delayed - because Dr. Tittle was assisting two dog emergencies (ingestion of chocolate and a heart attack). The entire staff was extremely apologetic, but frankly, I don't mind waiting; if that were my pet, I'd want my vet to be able to give that much time and attention. Plus, they're reasonably priced, and with the app, it's easy to keep track of appts and prescriptions. I wanted to switch to a vet closer to home, and EVC had outstanding reviews. However, my dog was recommended a nonessential vaccine that they made sound very important. Two days later my dog became extremely ill and would have died if I hadn't taken him to the emergency vet, where he stayed overnight hooked up to IVs. $1200 and the most terrifying night of my life later, my little pup was back to himself. I did some research and talked to other vets who said toy breeds are extremely prone to bad reactions to the leptospirosis vaccine. Why wasn't I warned about this before they took my money and I almost lost my dog? Furthermore, the vaccine doesn't help prevent the illness, but rather suppresses symptoms (hence, non-essential) I can't trust a vet that wouldn't tell me these things, and I feel very ripped off. I'll keep making the drive to my other vet's office. As a side note, they put my toy Xolo in their system as a Japanese Chin? I'm sure that isn't of much importance in regards to the services performed, but it further encouraged my belief in their carelessness.Read Less

I absolutely love this clinic and everyone that works there! The staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful when it comes to payments and general advice. Scheduling is a breeze as well, and they consider all of your concerns. The docs are very knowledgeable and educate you appropriately, addressing all of your questions and concerns. The bedside manner from all of the staff is wonderful. Finally, I love the appointment sheets you get at the end of the sessions that summarizes the appointments and treatment so there is no confusion. I am so upset that I recently moved away from this clinic and have to find another place- I don't think anything else will match up to the great care my pet and I experienced at Eastown Vet Clinic! Eastown vet is terrible. All they care about is your money. Everything is overpriced and I have never felt like the staff care about my animals. They pre charge for samples and then never get back to you. They have never called to check up on my animals. And I was consistently charged $80-$100 more at Eastown vet clinic than other veterinarians for the same service/meds. And they ALWAYS "recommend" every single test there is, no matter what they think is wrong with your pet, just to get more money. My cat had chronic diarrhea and a fever and was very sick. I went in and they charged me $300+ for tests and then told me they didn't know what was wrong and sent us home. I went to Plymouth Road Animal Clinic the next day and they gave her antibiotics (and free dewormer and flea meds!) and she was better in a couple days. And the entire process and medicine cost less than JUST Eastowns visit fee. Read Less

If your dog needs grooming, I would recommend this place. If you like hearing women talk to your dog in high frequencies, I would recommend this place.But if your dog needs special medical attention for ANY reason (ear infection/tumor/UTI/arthritis etc.), be warned. The service my yellow lab received at East town vet was good. I was happy with the doctors and the assistants. They were friendly and attentive. I recently adopted a new toy breed dog who refused to eat the food I was feeding to my lab. Since I don't know much about small dogs, I called East town vet for the advise. The receptionist refused to help me, saying that I needed to address all the issues at the appointment, even though I told her that I just adopted the dog that day and needed a quick phone advise. I understand that you, folks need to make money, but common, wouldn't it be nice to help established clients out by a quick phone advise??? It was very upsetting. I hung up and called Cascade Animal Hospital, and they helped me out without any problems. Definitely will be taking both of my dogs to them from now on. Read Less

I had my concerns about prices and that was no problem, they quoted me a price over the phone and it was just about dead on, they were very understanding with my budget... The staff were very friendly & knowledgable. However - I brought my cat in for some dental issues. They informed me his care would be between $900 & $1,540 and they would not know until he was under anesthetic exactly what needed to be done. I couldn't believe the cost and asked if I could put half down & make payments every two weeks. They said no. Luckily my mom suggested we get a second opinion. A vet clinic in Byron Center is doing ALL the work for $180. They also gave my pet a shot for pain when I brought him in for a consult. You do the math ! There is no where better than Eastown Veterinary Clinic. The staff is as friendly as they come. They are always willing to help you no matter the circumstances. This was a horrible experience. I decided to take my year old boxer here for his yearly exam because it was so close and convenient. I went in with high expectations being that it is a new business in Easttown. Though the staff we friendly, I felt as though I was being sold to. They just kept saying all of these vaccines and things that my dog "needed" if I wanted to get them. They left the decisions up to me and didn't further explain why he needed them other than handing me a brochure about the vaccine. My dog also had to little lumps on his stomach that we needed to get checked out. After looking at them and testing them with a needle all the vet said is that they will go away with no explanation of what it even was, and of course this examination of the lumps cost me around $70. A co worker of mine also had a similar experience with Dr. Happel, she has an older dog and needed some antibiotics for an infection on her face. She was told that the antibiotics would cost $150! After going to another vet in Grand Rapids to get a second opinion she go the same medicine for free!!! I feel that they are taking advantage of people and how much we love our pets. They are looking to make money not to help the animals, or their owners. I would NOT recommend going here!!! Read Less

Greetings,I hate to give a low rating to Ea Veterinary Clinic but my overall experience there was unsatisfactory. 1. I was not greeted or acknowledge by the receptionist the 5 - 10 minutes I was in the waiting area. I understand the receptionist was on the phone regarding the computer system but the conversation was casual and a quick " I'll be with you in a second" would of been an appropriate gesture. I was eventually greeted by a young lady who was very friendly but still was not acknowledged by the receptionist. 2. I originally stopped in to Eastown Vet to purchase heart worm/flea medication for my dog. I just moved to GR from out of state, so I do not have a vet. I had been purchasing the meds through another clinic on the East side of the state with no problems, I simply show the clinic proof of vaccinations/heart worm test results and buy the meds. Eastown informed me that I would have to bring my dog in for a $45.00 office visit to purchase the med. 3. There was not a single patient in the clinic.
