Haslett animal hospital treated by 10 month old golden retriever like my son. I couldn't be more excited to get my healthy boy back. They spent many hours monitoring and treating him even on the weekends. I wasn't forced or pushed into making a decision about surgery, all options were laid out in front of me. All of my questions and concerns were validated. Working in the medical field I know what poor service and treatment is. Dr Wyatt was absolutely amazing and treated Referee like her own. I cannot thank Haslett Animal Hospital enough for saving my dear dog, Bianca. Bianca is 14.5 years old and was not eating or drinking for almost a week. I called and they got me in that day. Dr. Wagner was quick to determine that Bianca had jaundice and ordered blood work on the spot. She then recommended we treat her with antibiotics and IV fluids and keep her overnight. The next day, Dr Wyatt called and updated me on Bianca's condition. She was doing better and told me to bring in some ground turkey for her. We brought it in and Bianca was so much better and wanted to eat! Later that evening, Dr Wagner called to update me and tell me she thought I could bring Bianca home in the morning. Today, Dr Harris called first thing to tell me that Bianca was happy, eating, drinking, acting like a puppy and I could come get her today. The vets and staff are wonderful. I love Dr. Harris! My lab had pancreatitis and her own vet would not take her because they close at noon on Saturday! I think my pets have gotten good care but the prices are staggering.  We are looking for a new vet after being told that they charge by the minute for tooth extractions and to expect $700-$800 to extract 2-4 teeth on top of the $250 for cleaning.  We expect more reasonable costs for pet care. My experience echoes all of the positive reviews -- we had to have our cat put to sleep with a really bad head tumor, and Dr. Wagner was fantastic, as were the rest of the staff.  They let me go home immediately, sent flowers and a card, and were just great in a very sad moment.  They were also wonderful with my kitty before he got so sick, but where they really stood out was at the worst time in my kitty's life.  Highly recommended. I love Haslett Animal Hospital! I had been taking my cat there ever since moving to East Lansing 10 years ago. The cost isn't cheap, but similar to what you'd expect for any vet visit. I never got the feeling that they were over-vaccinating her like at other vets, and they don't push products on you that may not be necessary (many other vets would push year-round flea meds for an indoor cat with no other pets, and make you feel guilty if you don't comply). They're very realistic - I asked one of the doctors what kind of food they recommended (my cat had been on cheap Whiskas for over half her life when I was young and living at home,  but I wanted to feed her what would keep her healthiest when I moved out) and expected to get a schpiel on Science Diet. The Dr said that she fed her pets store-brand food and they were all completely healthy, so no need to spend $30 on bags of food if they're doing well.When my cat developed kidney failure at about 17 years old, Dr. Wyatt called me personally and left a detailed message with her blood results, asking me to call her back if I had any questions. After that my cat had regular visits to track her illness. I only saw Dr. Wagner once - she suggested that I put my cat down as she was getting so old and kidney failure has no cure, which really upset me as she otherwise seemed fine. I have friends who have seen Dr. Wagner and loved her, so it was probably just me being emotional. When I made the decision to give my cat fluids at home, all of the staff were very helpful in showing me how to administer. My favorite however is Dr. Burmeister - I was glad that when the unfortunate time came two years later and I rushed my cat in, they let me in right away and it was Dr. Burmeister who saw her. She had to be put down immediately, but all of the staff were incredibly caring and helped me with cremation services. I was a mess and Dr. Burmeister told me to go home and they would bill me later, so I didn't have to cry in front of everyone in the waiting room. The next day the office had sent a small bouquet of flowers and a card to me at work, which I thought was incredibly thoughtful. I believe the only Dr. I haven't seen here is Dr. Harris, which is odd since he's the owner, but I'm happy with Dr. Burmeister.I've also used HAH once before for boarding, and grooming for a dog. Both services went well, the groomer was awesome and brought my dog out to explain how everything went. I'm sure I could have boarded somewhere cheaper, but I doubt the service would have been as good, and I like knowing there's vet staff on hand.There was only one time where I had to wait for an appointment, I was sitting in the lobby for over an hour before being taken to a room. It was a late afternoon appointment, and the receptionist offered to rebook me but I declined. Looking back I probably should have, but since then I've made appointments for earlier in the day and never had to wait to get in a room. It's a beautiful, clean facility and I can't recommend it enough to people in the Haslett/Okemos/East Lansing area. Read Less

Dr. Wyatt is AMAZING!!!  Our dog actually likes going to the vet!  They have great hours and have always squeezed me in if I needed something.  All of the staff are knowledgeable and caring, I am so happy we are clients of Haslett Animal Hospital!  AND the vet tech pet sitting is a huge bonus! I have only gone here for grooming before so I cant not speak of the entire clinic itself, but the ladies that checked my dog in were extremely nice! For the groomer..that's another story. One, he made me wait almost 15 minutes just to come talk to me, when he finally came up, talked down to me when I was telling him what I wanted like he knew everything about grooming, and then when I got my dog back-HA! horrible, I didn't want to pay $45 for what he did. Haslett animal hospital is one of the best around! I love taking my animals here, they can get pretty busy depening on the time of day and you can spend some time waiting in a room but they really do take their time and make sure all your questions are answered. The doctors are pretty good at returning my phone calls too. They can be a bit pricey some times but I know I am getting a great value for my money. The only reason why I didn't give them five stars is because of the groomer, I have taking my dogs and cat there to be groomed and he did not listen to me at all, they came back completely opposite of what I had wanted and he charged way to much for the job.Overall if you want people who truly care and know what they are doing then go to Haslett. Very kind, and compassionate doctors, and staff! They are always ready to do their best to help your pet. The staff is very friendly on the phone, and they are willing to go the extra step to help you, and answer any questions. If your pet is sick they get you in to see a doctor right away. Haslett Animal Hospital's doctors and staff are so welcoming and kind. When i needed to get my sick animal seen, they went above and beyond in getting me in right away. They said that it could be a wait for the doctor but a few minutes later someone came in just to check to see how Fluffy was doing and asked if I needed anything. I was so happy to see that the person was worried enough to make sure me and my pet were ok even though it was very busy in there. All the staff and doctors seemed to truely care about my pet and me. The Haslett Animal Hospital has the most compassionate staff of any veterinary clinic I have ever seen. They are always very kind and readily greet you as you walk through the door. My dogs always receive the best of care every time they have come here. I have recently had a dog in this clinic two times for emergencies and both times the doctors and staff have stayed after hours to suture him up. They go above and beyond to make sure that your animals always receive the best of care.I would highly recommend this veterinary clinic to every person I meet. They are by far the best in town! i went there expecting to have great experience when i read on her about the doctors but i did not. Any question i had for Mizue wagner she could not answer. When trying to decide on heartworm medication she had no input on to what to put him on. She started scheduling him for all these shots that i have never heard of and my other dogs never had them. She was very nice and was good with the pup but other than that it was a waste of an appt. also, all the crying dogs in kennel scared the heck out of my puppy. We got him from the humane society and it sounded just like that in there. I am going to find a place more suitable for my pup. Will not be going back, But good luck to you if you go there.not impressed. Read Less

Will nickel and dime you any way they can.  I cannot speak to the work of all the vets - only one: Nicole Morgan.  I've taken my dog to see her twice now - neither of which were good experiences.  The first time I took my dog there, we had to wait an hour and 15 minutes past our sheduled appt. before we could be seen.  The second time she charged me for a "physical examination" when my dog had one 6 days prior.  $40 for something I didn't even see done nor did I authorize.  I also went back to inquire about the charge to be told that she did have to take his temperature.  $40 to check a dog's temperature?  I don't think so.  She also prescribed my dog medication, and after checking with two other very respected and well-trusted vets, I was told by both the medication was unnecessary.  On top of that, I had specifically made a vet tech appt. so she should not have even been in the picture.  I will never take my animals there again.  What a scam!! Definitely on the high end and prices have been a concern over the years, but to have a vet that knows your dog when you walk in the door and can recall med history is a great feeling! Read Less

We've been taking our dog to Haslett Animal Hospital for several years now and just last week we found out our dog had cancer. Dr. Kevin Harris was very sympathic and did everything he could to make us feel comfortable. We decided to put our dog to sleep and did so 2 days ago. When we arrived, all the staff was very personable, courteous and sympathic. Our dog defecated in the car on the way there and when I asked the woman there for a paper towel, she offered to clean it up for us because she knew what we were coming in for. I think that was beyond the call of duty. The people there did not rush us when saying goodbye to our dog. They told us to take our time and they waited until we were ready. Before the procedure, they even told us we could leave right after and don't worry about checking out or the bill. They would just send us a bill later when we were not so emotional. I thought that was very considerate. We even got a small bouquet of flowers delivered today giving us their sympathies. I am truly grateful for Haslett Animal Hospital and the care they provided. When we get our next puppy, I'm am sure to take him/her there. Read Less

Dr Harris and Dr Wyatt are the best.  One of my beloved old cats had to be put to sleep a few years back and the clinic sent flowers!  Who does that?  They kept that cat as healthy and as comfortable as possible well past what we thought would be her lifespan.  They were just so kind to my cat and to me when the end finally came.  They take equally great care of my other critters.  Bonus--some of the techs and aides are available to do pet sitting when you are out of town. This is a great place for my doggies. Close to home, and the doctors are all great! You really get personal service from the vets. Dr. Harris is super cool and is always looking out for both of my dogs. I would recommend them in a heartbeat if you have dogs that need some TLC. Read Less
