I can't say enough about Animal Clinic of Holland.... Dr. Jim took the BEST care of my german shepherd's.... the momma shepherd had cancer... he did 2 surgeries on her... which allowed me to have her a lot longer than I should have... just can't say enough. And Linda, along with the rest of the staff has treated us like family, I can't say enough 'thank you's'. Dr. Allison has taken care of my new pup... who is HUGE and active and inquisitive... and she does amazingly with him! Dr. Sue is wonderful as well and has seen 2 out of 3 of my babies. We love this vet! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and we are always seen quickly. The building is older but always clean. We are first time dog owners and that have been more than helpful answering questions or even treating illness over the phone or via email. Dr. Jim and Dr. Sue are incredibly gifted professionals with great bedside manners. They exhibit much attention and unyielding care to all of our pets. Dr. Kay is a whole kettle of fish - and a cold one at that! She's all about getting you & your pet out of their in breakneck speed without any effort or concern. And if you have any questions, forget it: she's already out the door for the next money grab. Yep, it's all about the $$$ for that woman. I'd give the Clinic more stars but a few of their staff members leave a lot to be desired. Their communications skills are spotty at best. An associate will answer the phone without identifying themselves then ask you for the nature of the call. Assuming they're directing your concerns to the proper person, they put you on hold; another employee picks up, asks you why are you on hold and you need to repeat your story and then they will put you on hold again. This happens EVERY time. And lastly, Josh, the tech at AC, is incompetent. He usually appears confused and flustered in many situations, not only with us, but with other clients as well. He customarily blunders on relaying information properly to the physicians (Red flag!), has poor listening abilities and on many occasions cannot perform the simple act of locating a patient file on the pc. Friendly staff & willing to help. Good hours and prices are comparable. Good home town feel. The only downside is there parking lot. Bit on the small side, only 1 way in & out. So when they are busy it seems people forget how to park and make it more difficult to navigate. Read Less

We live outside Chicago and have a place in Holland. We unexpectedly had put down our beloved Ginger ( 13+ year old terrier mix rescue) this past Friday pm after she experienced a health crisis. After she fell ill were in a panic where to take her as we didn't know any vets in Holland and luckily connected with Dr. Jim after hours. He was so amazingly kind and compassionate to both Ginger and us. We feel blessed to have met him ( literally minutes after our panicked call to him.) Ginger was a very special part of our family and we will now have a special vet in Holland who we will bring our puppy ( Sydney ) when we are in town. Thank you again.Read Less

Shout out to Animal Clinic of Holland...my Schnauzer, Iris had some major procedures done today including having 9 teeth extracted () and a lump removed on her tail. She's in good spirits (thankfully) and was eager to eat when she got home. I received a phone call from the vet at 6:30ish, it was Dr. Jim calling to check on Iris. Dr. Havenga listened to our dog's medical history and made sure he knew what medications our dog could and could not take before prescribing anything. We love the Animal Clinic. They remember our dogs and show them genuine care. They have worked us in twice in the last 2 weeks for sudden issues with our dogs. Best memory is Dr Jim asking me to get a urine sample from my dog and I asked him how. He handed me a, soup ladle. Haha! So here I am, with my dog, in a blinding snow storm, trying to get my dog to pee in a soup ladle. Great group of Drs and staff! Read Less

I had just moved to the area from Chicago, and needed to see a vet within the first week of moving. They not only got me in right away, they explained everything they were going to do to my cat and they were so good with him.
