I had to bring my sick dog in for euthanasia. Front staff was great along with the vet tech. The so called comfort room was horrific! All it was, was a cold sterile exam room! I was appalled they called this a comfort room! I expected a couch, no exam table, low lights, soft music playing, shades on the windows, soft fragrance mister to take away from smell of a vets office! If my poor baby was aware I would have walked out!! I would have expected rainbow bridge poster and other memorials on the walls! For being a new clinic I expected so much more! Never again! I will do a home euthanasia than subject my dog to such a heartless end of life! The woman vet was not compassionate! Horrible experience that I will never forget!

This vet clinic ended up leaving us very disappointed when it came to that "personal" touch that i feel every vet should have! My great dane was diagnosed with lymphoma and we started treating him with chemo at a cancer Center in Canton Michigan. They needed CBC test done on Dice the week after every chemo tx. They did that okay, until a tech decided to start taking the blood from his leg which I advised them to not draw from the legs that the cancer Center wants them saved fir his treatment. One tech when I asked her why she was doing the draw from the leg, responded, "aww just to keep you guessing"! I was a bit upset with that not so funny humor! I don't need to be kept guessing, I have enough on my plate treating my boy for lymphoma! Then they moved to the new office. Prices were doubled and still not much of that personal touch. On two occasions and one just a few weeks ago, Dice needed to get an EMERGENCY CBC done. So I called Sterner and they said that they couldnt get him in until Saturday and I called them on a Wed. It was a simple blood draw that he needed immediately so his chemo could be changed up due to his lymp nodes getting larger quick. So an emergency blood draw we couldnt get in for 3 days?? That's unacceptable...especialkt for my boy that was giving a hell of a fight to beat CANCER and they could see him in 3 days!!! The cancer Center even called them to let them know that it was indeed an EMERGENCY appointment needed for Dice. Sterner told them "No, we cannot get him before Saturday"! A week later we lost our boy. This is nothing short of neglect on Sterners part. Not that they were at fault fir us losing Dice, they weren't, but to not do better for one of your patients fighting cancer then 3 days....again, NOT acceptable, nor will I ever recommend anyone but Dr. Scott to care for your family pet. Otherwise, I have nothing good to say about Sterner themselves! Very disappointed that I trusted all of the Drs and staff here!

I really like sterner's! I don't take my dog there that often but I always am very please with the results when I do. I had a bad experience with another vet that resulted in my puppy coming down with parvo and then I took the puppy there and I liked what I saw!!

We have taken our dogs to Sterner Veterinary Clinic for probably 30 years or longer. Dr. Milsap saved a puppy that had parvo-virus with his tender care and attention. We always are satisfied with the service and care we receive for our dogs. The staff there is always friendly and cheerful and are so kind to our dogs. Thank you Sterner Veterinary Clinic for being there for us when we need you! You are the best.

They are fantastic I won't go any where else. Not only is the staff amazing the prices are not bad. They are not pushy and they are just down right the best. I just had three kittens fixed there and usually when my cats come back from the vet the other cats get so mad. My other cats didn't even bat an eye. Don't know how they did that. And I use to work at a vet office so I have very high expectations . Keep up the great work

Although there are really only 2 options in Ionia, Sterners is an awesome Vet. They are very friendly, and will always go out of their way to accommodate their patients; especially Dr. Montgomery. Their prices are reasonable, they offer morning appointments and afternoon walk-ins. The only thing that I wish they had but do not is after hours emergency care. If you have an emergency after 5pm or on the weekends the only place to go is almost an hour away to an Emergency Vet Clinic(this is why I'm not giving 5 stars.) In a true emergency, driving almost an hour isn't always possible. For established clients they will arrange payment plans(which is rare these days.) Great people, very knowledgeable staff and doctors.

I was appalled they called this a comfort room!
