Comprehensive Animal Hospital

Don't go here. Docs best interest is not about your pet it's about his pocket book. This man should not be practicing. Building is a hell hole, dirty, not well maintained. Very scary. Very pricey. VeryHorrible place. Took my Shih Tzu Junior here. We saw "doc". Doc refused to listen to ALL of Juniors symptoms. He took one look at him and assumed toxicity, he ignored Juniors symptoms of right side imbalance, right side paws coupling, right eye sight loss. I argued I felt it was a neurological problem and he said "not at his age, that would be at the very bottom of the list. It's toxicity." His bloodwork was great, another indicator not toxicity. So he took an x ray he tried telling me he felt the stomach was abnormally enlarged and he could see string in it. If I would of allowed it He would of did exploratory surgery. I had 2 other vetinerarian tell me it was just gas and not abnormal. As I told doc, junior is the best dog and doesn't get into anything and plays only with a ball. He insisted he had to treat for toxicity. I had my doubts but I'm no vet. Called 6 hours later, they told me my baby was 10% better. He was no better. I left there heading to MSU. MUS immediately agreed he had a neurological issue and admitted him. At first we thought it was a stroke but found out it was a brain cyst, it was believed everything Doc did to him caused him to go into hypertension making his condition worse. And there was no reason to believe it was toxicity. Doc was wrong and I was right. Im not even a vet. Doc made us still pay for his screw up. This man shouldn't BE practicing. Rip Junior sorry momma put you through docs treatment. We should of just went to MSU, maybe you would still be here. Read Less

Personally I usually don't take the time to rate or write a review but people must be aware of places like these especially when bringing our loved animals to be helped. Comprehensive animal clinic was nothing but neglectful, careless and rude! Please take the time to look into other options for your pets! This is not the only place to go! Put your pets first and think twice before contacting or stepping foot into comprehensive animal clinic. Read Less

Never would I take any living Organism to this place. Not only is the care here horrible but the mannerisms of the staff to the animals humans are that of much distaste. I rate this place ZERO if that was a choice. Unfortunately there are probably the rare days that the regular clients have a good experience and have this place rated beyond a TWO star. This place should be shut down. My suggest is if you have any love for any animal you suggest or think about taking to this place... If I could give zero I would. ABSOLUTELY NEVER TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE, unless you want to end up with a dead one. Took my dog in to get a wound on his leg cleaned and dressed. They gave him an anesthetic without even weighing him, took him back to the “surgery room” I heard him sneezing really bad. They came out said he was fine they would call when he woke up and was ready to go home. We left. 15 minutes later they call us and tell us “something major major is wrong with your dog come back” we get there and our dog is DEAD!!! he said he had given him another shot of anesthetic because he was still fighting the first dose. He wasn’t even sorry, had no sympathy and said “it’s very stange, they have no idea what happened” they killed our dog, our baby!! Read Less

This place is fantastic! We've seen Dr. Bola 3 or 4 times now and Dr. McNally ("Melissa" in another review) once, and they are terrific vets. The whole staff is terrific. They are knowledgeable, and wonderfully patient with my scared, nervous kitty! Read Less

Less than one star. Never take your pet here. Went in yesterday with my cat. Was completely ignored. The receptionist was very unprofessional and unsympathetic, not just towards me, but towards a lady that just had her cat put to sleep. So glad that I didn't stay there, because I took my cat to MSU VET CLINIC and they were amazing towards me and since I ended up having to put my cat to sleep because she was hit by a car, they seem like they actually cared. Losing a pet is like losing a child, not asking for sympathy but couldn't believe the disrespect that I felt. Read Less

I would like to thank the gentleman that posted a review on 5/5/17. He is telling the truth about the reviews on how good of a vet he is. I walked in to find my baby in a cage choking on fluid and not being able to breath. I also see the vet assistant just standing there looking stupid watching my baby choke to death. I grabbed my baby and started doing CPR because stopped breathing, I yelled for her to get the vet in there. She called him and got no answer. I pleaded with her to help me and she said she didn't have any experience on how to take care of animals. WHAT???? Your left here with a critical baby and you don't know what to do if anything occurs. 24hour service but no vet around???? After 20 minutes of trying to save my baby by myself in a veterinarian office because theres no one around to save her the gentleman comes in . The assistant calls the doctor and he shows up within 10 minutes.Please read the rest of my reviews to here how they treated her and how I could never honest answer on any question I ask that day. So they say I have to rate my experience with this vet. I wouldn't give him a corner piece of a star. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. Read Less

I have been tacking my Animals to Dr. Bola for 3 years and they actually get excited when I take them. I have had 2 unplanned situations arise and was able to make payments for services. Not sure if this is available to new patients but it helped me a lot when I needed it most Read Less

They told us they would do a cystotomy for cheaper price, but the vet assured us my 11 year old dog would be safe in his hands and that the place was open 24-hours, they did the surgery and told us everything went fine and that he was waking up, I called back a few hours later to check and see if they had been feeding him okay and was urinating normally after the surgery, they then said he was still waking up, which is weird as to now how it was like 6-8 hours after surgery, we get a call at 8 this morning saying that he had died because he was left alone. They still want over $1000 from us for killing our dog. Don't take your pets here, they are not watched closely and obviously aren't really 24-hours. I can't believe they killed my baby. Read Less

Took my very sick 19 year old cat and the care and compassion they gave us was unimaginable. The tough decision to put your fur baby down is never easy, but knew it was had to be done. They allowed me to spend the time needed and also made it most comfortable for her. I am grateful for them. Read Less

Is this place any good? It's hard to know because when I got there with my sick kitten the "24/7 comprehensive animal hospital" WAS CLOSED. Nobody answered the phone and all the doors were locked, now I'm at MSU animal clinic because they're actually open! Read Less

They were very compassionate when my daughter and I had to put down our sick bunny. They even allowed us to be in the room in his final moments. He was even gas and never felt a thing. The staff give us a sincere apology for our lose and even took the time to send us a sympathy card in the mail. I highly recommend them for professionalism, ease of getting an appointment, and dedication to animals and their owners. Also, I was only charged $50 for the service and got an appointment the same day I called, which was a Saturday. Read Less

Took my dog there when his stitches opened after surgery. They charged $342. To restitch the sutures. Had no problem paying for the emergency service. When his stitches reopened two days later because they were too tight. They wanted another $300. I brought my dog to Riverfront Vet and they did not charge me. I am also a veteran with PTSD. My dog is a service dog. I will never use Comprehensive again.Read Less

very pleased with the way the attended to my dog. I brought her in because of an allergic reaction to a Bee sting and they knew exactly what to do and after they administered med.s they kept her for 2 to 3 hours so they could keep an eye on her. I have a very bashfull Newfoundland/Great Pyrenees mix. She unfortunately ate something so God awful decayed in the forest and rolling in that the smell consumed my house for two days. Then she started vomiting 2 days later. Then we came home to diarrhea, and a dog barely able to get up. Refused to eat or drink, she is a garbage can! Finally, after watching her and thinking she was on her last legs we called on a recommendation. We went in at 11:30 pm!!!! He was the first veterinarian that she would allow to look at her. Usually we have to carry her in! She got very empathetic professional care. So did we. She was begging to share the pizza we had for dinner an hour later. Able to get up on her own! Thankyou so much! I would never take any of my animals here again. Dr. Bola hardly check over Mintaka @ told me he had kennel cough, even though he was coughing up blood. My precious boy died the next day due to rat poison. He claims there isn't a test for it. The other vet check for it first thing & did everything to save him. The only thing he didn't have was the extra time Dr. Bola stole from him. Read Less

this place is awesome!!! i had an emergency where my cat had a bb from a pellet gun stuck in his face. it was horrible and no fault of my own. it was also sunday . needless to say i was panicked, so i brought him to comprehensive because they were the only place open. the vet was very nice and helpful. he did have to keep my kitty overnight because of some anesthesia, but he kept me very informed. more than i would normally pay, but it was an emergency. cat is good as new. i will definitely take any emergency situations there again. Dr Bola dropped off a pizza where I was working years ago when he 1st opened. I have sent him many a night time emergency and scores of very happy clients since.Hes treated my dog show friends Champions, my room mates elderly cats and sat with my friends agonizing over putting an old pet down and showed compassion,understanding and a super bedside manner! I took him my ""baby""who I thought was bloating.He met me there in minutes and found she had only bit her tongue which was why she was showing symptoms. I had her ready for surgery.Thanks to Dr Bola she came home and we nursed a sore tongue.And he never teased me for overreacting! Read Less

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this clinic. Dr. Bola and his techs are kind and sensitive to pets and their people. They are well informed, but also willing to do the research and put in the effort to find the best solutions and up-to-date information. We found them by chance two years ago when our dog had a late night emergency. (The doctor is on-call 24 hours). We were so impressed with their loving nature and excellent care that we immediately switched and made them our full-time vet. We love them and will never take our pets anywhere else. Read Less
