I called to inquire about information regarding euthanizing my 15 year old shih-tzu. He was blind, deaf, and having accidents in the house frequently. I was asked if we had ever been there before and I said yes but it was a long time ago. In fact in was back in 04. AT that point I was told in addition to the fees for euthanizing and cremation they would have to do an examination before any services were preformed and that would cost $45!! I asked,,, so your going to make sure he's healthy enough to be put to down?!?! Needless to say, she didn't have a response.... Companion Animal Hospital is all about getting as much money as they can. Shame on them for taking advantage of grieving fur baby parents! It wasn't bad enough that I was going through the pain of putting my dog down,, I needed to pay them more money because it had been so long since they've seen the dog....Not to mention all of their fees are @20% more than anyone around. My family have been taking our dogs there for years. A couple days ago my dog was in a dog fight and pretty messed up. I called them to have her put to sleep because of her injuries. While on the phone I asked what the process was and what they told me was horrible. Not only did they tell me about the shots but they went beyond her going to sleep. I took a cat for her annual visit and for her shots due. Have used for about 4 years, continuing whom my Mother preferred. This visit, the vet tech demanded.....DEMANDED that I not remove the cat from her carrier - that I DISASSEMBLE the carrier, as not 'to stress'. WHAT?? I ignored the first request, and she pushed my hand away, and started taking the bolts loose to disassemble. I was in shock - and insulted. By the time I got my senses back, she had half out. Then I get lectured about all the things I do wrong, ect. Sorry bee-atch, but I have been caring lovingly for cats 20 years longer than you have been on this earth. We have a senior dog and wanted to speak with a vet about signs to look for when "it's time" (euthanasia) while our pet was getting vaccines. We were told a tech would speak with us, not a vet. Upon arrival, a tech came out IN THE WAITING ROOM (which was full) to talk to us about the COST of euthanizing our dog. This place is fine for vaccines, but does not care about your pet at all. I saw two technicians through their glass door contorting her legs in the back hallway on their slippery floors while she looked frightened and slipped all around. I had told one of the girls beforehand that my Katie slips on uncarpeted floors and to walk her slow and close until they get to a carpeted area.Read Less

Dr. Osmun never explained the limping on her front legs nor her walking like a stick dog on the back legs that occurred immediately after the nail cut but just said that his technicians do their best when manipulating dogs to get the job done. I have brought my animals here for years. I trust them and they don't overcharge. I have moved from the area closer to Brighton but still continue to travel to this clinic. I have tried other places closer but have not been happy. I really like the Professionalism of this office. Also I have to say what compelled me to write this was my experience with them today. We brought our cat in whom was sick and needed to be put down. We had to make an urgent care apt. Which was only a minimal fee because they were completely booked and it was the end of the day and last minute. My cat was in pain she could not wait and if she was going to be put down it needed to happen at a place my family and I are comfortable with. They seen us between patients and were so compassionate and caring to us. The whole staff was great! This was very hard for us and they made it easier. Read Less

Dog killers, assembly line care is right. I guess they are good if nothing goes wrong with your pet. But when you really need a vet for acute care and if you love your pet, DON'T go here. I don't mind paying for someones knowledge, but they really don't care about your pet or the follow up care needed for your pet. They just want you money !! plain and simple. Read Less

A nice clean facility, the doctors and staff are very friendly. Everyone here loves animals. The doctors were very helpful when my dogs got very sick. They were very informative with my options for treatment. The only downfall here is they are almost always busy. My dogs love to visit here. Read Less

I took my 12.5 lb. Pomeranian/Cairn Terrier mix here for an annual exam and to get updated on his shots. They were very helpful in deciphering my somewhat shoddy paperwork that I had received upon rescuing my dog. The vets and vet techs that I spoke with were all knowledgeable and helpful; however, service was a bit slow (I think I waited in the waiting room for 45 minutes even though I had a scheduled appointment). They also discovered that the sutures from when my dog was neutered were turning inside out. They cut them, but I noticed later that they did not get them all. Overall very friendly and helpful people, but I would expect the waiting time to be less or I would not visit again. Read Less

I love Companion Animal Hospital! Not only do they keep up on the latest medical science to help your pet, but they are caring and attentive to your needs and your pets needs! I have not met all the doctors, but you can not go wrong with Dr. Osmun, Dr. Pinkston, Dr. Stewart, and Dr. Stilson! They are all fabulous. One more thing, they charge very reasonable rates. A neighbor was going to have some tests run on her dog at her vet, but was not able to affort it. I referred her to Dr. Osmun, he did all the tests for half of what the first vet was quoting. The doctors there want everyone to be able to take care of their pets! I have sent dozens of my friends there, and every one is a fan of Companion Animal Hospital. Read Less

This place is great for pushing medicines, but they are not the proper meds. There is no follow through and aside from a few good workers...the staff stinks!! Please use extreme caution when going here. My pet was only 3 1/2 and when I needed them they wouldn't stay open 15 mins. just to take care of my dog...and I had had him there in the morn. As a matter of fact, I had just arrived home and my dog began having a strange reaction which I suspect was the long lasting pred. shot he was given. I called ASAP and was sent to voicemail..two minutes later i had to call again (crying) because my dog was vomiting blood and listless.I was told the vet would call me as soon as he left a patients room. To this day (over a month later) I have never heard from him. They weren't there for us!!! My baby was only just beginning what should have been a long, happy life. Instead, he is gone!!!
