Lets start with Dr. Bloom: I give him 5 stars along with the ladies who help him in the back. They are all really really great! Dr. Bloom is go go go, but he always explains to you what is going on and if you don't think he is paying attention, he is! Him and his back staff are really nice. NOW.... if I could give his front staff a 1-2 star I would! From the few times I have been there with my dog, only one girl there is super nice (she should be added to the 5 star list), she welcomes you, she shows care for you and she is always acknowledging you, i sadly do not know her name but she is the small girl with short blonde hair and black glasses. She should be training the rest of the receptionists! I had one lady tell me that my husband and I must not have stayed on top of giving our dog his meds because we had left over of some and not of others. My husband and I are religious about this and I told Dr. Bloom who said he was sorry and would handle that, he could tell as any of the back staff how much we love our dog. Heck after over $7000.00 (between Dr. Bloom and Michigan State Vet) we sure do love him! Then there is the older lady who apparently works the later shift who sits up front and I would never allow her way of attitude as a front desk person. When I had been back and forth all day with surgery for my dog I was exausted, being up at 4am, coming from pinckney, then back to work in howell then back to pick him up and waiting another 2 hours then to drive another hour home, I was not in the mood to have her not even acknowledge my presence, she showed no care and then I asked about medicine and having enough prior to re check and to make sure I could get extra now seeing as she said they were probably booked for my recheck and couldnt get me in. When I asked her to check to see if I can call it in or get some now, she said " Well I don't know what you have" ummmm my chart is in front of you?! So i was reading them off and she said " I don't know" So i asked her to ask the back. Then she said, well we can just get to it when we do. Ummm no! what do you not understand I live an hour away?! So the third time in, I was there for another 4 hours and when I came to check out, she didn't even look up at me as I stood in front of her. The short blonde hair girl goes, I can help you! The old lady said, " ya can you do that" what?! I have never given a snotty comment to any staff or any reason to have that attitude. I truly think this lady should be let go or given proper education on front desk manners. A front desk receptionist can lose a lot of business for the Dr. being they are the first people you call to set up your first appointment and may just walk when dealing with a snotty front desk. My other main issue, is the first appointment I was there for 7 hours, had many others come after me and leave way before me. My last appointment I was there for 4 hours, again had others come and go. Although I had little tests needed to be done, every time Dr. Bloom checks on the other patients, I wait another 20-30 minutes while their tests and results are done. I understand things go on in the back that need time etc... I honestly do not know how to fix it other than not making so many other appointments around the same time based on the knowledge of what needs to go on with each animal. Last the amount. Do not expect to pay less than $700 a visit, even for a check up. I have a big issue with paying for an exam every time I go in. You already know the issue, so any time I come in after that as long as it is in a timely matter and it is dealing with the issue at hand that was discovered in the first exam, there is no reason to be charging people an exam fee. Great care is given here and again Dr. Bloom is great! But with the fees, no wonder most owners just put their pets down or let them suffer. It is truly sad! Most people who don't animal insurance like they have for people, I get you have to pay for other things, it just seems way high, and I work in a doctors office. Read Less
